Anise Nail Polish Swatch - Be Wordly and Gilt Trip

I picked up these two polishes at DSW about a month ago? It's the only place I know that sell Anise nail polishes and they are always BOGO 50%. I was  hesitant to pick them up because they looked like colors I probably already have, lol. Oh well, I still grabbed them anyways.

Be Wordly is a beautiful purple-ish plum jelly polish with lots of scattered tiny holo glitter flakes. It's quite got nice pigmentation and you might be able to get away with two coats but I like it much better with 3. It's not too thick or thin. The application is pretty easy.

Gilt Trip...ok it's funny it has to be named that way because I am guilty of owning several colors similar to this one, lol. Well just look at how beautiful it is. It's such a lovely shimmery bronze with green and pink shimmers. I just can't resist. It is a bit thin and sheer so you'll need 3 coats for sure.

Well if you have a DSW nearby, I would definitely recommend you stop by and try some of these polishes, plus it's always fun to look for a new pair of shoes while you're at it.

Anise Nail Polish - Total Temptress and Wee Hours

These are nail polishes that I purchased from DSW and they are always BOGO 50%. 

Total Temptress looked very temptress in the bottle but not so much on the nails because the shimmers don't show up like they do in the bottle. The application is streaky and patchy so you'll need two or three coats to even it out. This is a dark greyish purple with gold, blue, and purple shimmers. The reason why the shimmers just disappear on the nails is because the base is a bit thick and opaque. It would have worked better if the color was a little more transparent. It really made no sense to put shimmers in there if they are not going to show up anyways. Still a nice but plain color for fall.

Wee Hours is a dark blurple nail polish with blue and pink shimmers. It looks more blue on the nails and more purple in the bottle...weird. The shimmers look very subtle so you won't actually notice them until you take a really close look. It goes opaque in 1 coat and application is easy to work with.

Overall, I'm a little disappointed at these two polishes since they look nothing like they do in the bottle and on my nails. Otherwise, they are not too bad.

Anise Nail Polish Swatches

Just wanted to share with you swatches from two nail polishes that I picked up from DSW. As far as I know, it's the only place you can find these polishes. If I remember correctly, they are $6.00 a piece but they are also always buy one get one 50% off.

Smokeshow is a shimmery gunmetal gray with subtle pink and teal shimmers. It's rather sheer but the formula is easy to work with and I was able to reach opacity in 3 coats.

Money to Burn is a highly shiny and metallic dark teal with a subtle gold shimmers. This color has a lot of depth. There are some visible brush strokes but I don't think they look too bad. The pigmentation is also good and two coats is more than enough. I know some people don't like this type of finish but I personally don't mind it and I quite like this color actually.

Small Beauty Haul - Sephora and Nail Polishes

What is up with Luuux? I haven't been able to sign in for the past couple days?

Anyways, I was on the hunt for a couple Nails Inc Special Effects polishes that I wanted. I purchased Stratford, a shimmery pink and champagne duochrome. I also wanted Swiss Cottage but couldn't find it in store, it may be a good thing because I did find another polish that seem similar to it and just placed an order for it so I will show it to you later when I receive my order.
Stratford is supposedly the dupe for Deborah Lippmann Sugar Daddy but will cost you less. For $9.50 I still think it's pricy, considering that you get a little less product than the typical polish. This one contains 10 ml or 0.33 oz. I've seen some beautiful swatches and I felt like I can justify the price since I'm a huge fan of duochrome.

I redeemed 100 points for the Givenchy Noir Couture mascara deluxe sample. I rarely wear mascara because they really don't do much for my minuscule and ultra thin lashes but I got it mainly because it's a fancy brand, lol. The only Givenchy product that I have is the Very Irresistible perfume, which is my all time favorite fragrance. The mascara claims to volume, lengthen, curl, and nourish your lashes. I don't know if these will do anything for me but the only mascara that have been able to double the length of my lashes are the fiber mascara.

I bought the Murad Acne Complex Kit for my kids, $60.00. My son has been using this product for over a year now and I can testify that this product has saved his skin. When he reached puberty, his face was full blown with huge and cystic pimples. It was really BAD! He also had some huge blackhead and super oily skin. He initially used Clean & Clear products but that didn't really do anything for him. I wish I had taken a picture of how it was then so I can show you how it looks now. Pretty much all of his pimples are gone now. He is still pretty oily but the difference from now and then is huge. Of course, that didn't happen overnight. I think it took a couple months of use to see a change and about 6 months to see a dramatic difference. Now that I look at his face, I see no more pimple. He took very good care of his skin and used the products daily.
My daughter is having some bad break out on her forehead and nose so I suggested that she use the Murad products that have worked so well for my son. She has been mostly using the face wash for the past couple weeks and told me that she is starting to see a difference.
I don't kown if anyone has had bad luck with this brand but it worked effectively for my son.

While I was at DSW, I picked up these two nail polishes. They are always BOGO 50% off. I bought the shades Smokeshow (left) and Money To Burn (right). I probably didn't need Smokeshow but Money to Burn looked so good in the bottle.

Anise Nail Polish Haul and Swatches

Have you ever heard of this brand? I haven't either. I went to DSW to see if I could find a nice pair of shoes or boots just because I was in a shopping mood, lol. Anyways, I did not find any shoes but I managed to get some socks and leggings that were on clearance. So as I proceeded to the check out, I spotted these nail polishes by the cash register. I was like Ooooo nail polish! There was a sign that said buy one get one half off, so I though what the heck why not. They are pretty cheap. Two of them cost me $5.50 each and the other two where half off so $2.75 each.

The first color that caught my eyes was this metallic teal color called Run For The Money. Oh boy! This polished looked awesome on my nails when I swatched it. I think the metallic finish is quite in for the holiday. The color is pigmented. This type of finish tend to show brush strokes so you'd want to be more precise during application. I did two coats and it looked opaque and even. I'm digging it!!

Love Elixir appear to be a metallic plum in the bottle but when swatched it's more like a metallic pearl. Definitely more shimmery than Run For The Money. Very pigmented in two coats and also gorgeous.

I like the name of this polish. It's called Crocodile Tears. It's a shimmery deep green with gold and teal shimmers running through it. It's rather sheer so it took me three coats to reach opacity. Nonetheless, it's worth the effort because it looks freaking amazing and it's a great dupe for Zoya Edyta. The only difference I notice so far is that Edyta is slightly more shimmery and Crocodile Tears is just a touch greener.

Pearls for the Devil is a dark polish with fine green and purple shimmers reminds me of a few nail polishes that I own: Essie Over The Edge, Borghese Stellar Notte, and Revlon Black With Envy. This one is also on the sheer side so three coat was needed to reach opacity. I guess I'm the least excited about this shade since I have so many dupes already, lol. Nonetheless, it is still a pretty dark polish. I'm probably going back to exchange this one with a different color.

One thing I notice about these polishes is that they dry fairly quick. They also have cream finishes and many other colors to choose from but the majority of them are typical colors. The first three that I swatched are definitely keepers. I think these polishes are definitely worth a look if you have a DSW near you.
