Too Faced Chocolate Bar - Review, Swatches, and Eye Looks

So I've had this palette for a little while now and it was given to me as a gift for my birthday. I know you probably seen the swatches and reviews of this palette already but what can I say I don't get sponsored so I rarely get the cool stuff before everybody else. I'm not complaining though, I can barely keep up with what I already have.


Packaging

• The packaging mimics that of a chocolate bar. Quite appropriate for the theme here. I believe it's a metal or aluminum tin with plastic on the inside and magnetic closure. It also includes a mirror and a plastic sheet cover that list the name of the shades. The box it comes in looks like you're in for a fancy treat. Overall, I think it's cute but I wished the palette was a bit slimmer.
• The smaller eyeshadow pans, 14 shades, are .95 g/.03 oz each
• The larger eyeshadow pans, 2 highlight shades, are 2.8 g/.10 oz each

Product

• When I first opened the packaging, the first thing I noticed is the delicious cocoa powder smell. Hmm, smells so good it makes you wanna eat it!
• Please see below for individual description of the shades. I think the worst shades that didn't apply nicely for me is Gilded Ganache, Black Forest Truffle, and Candied Violet. They felt dry and powdery. Triple Fudge also is dry and patchy. White Chocolate and Strawberry Bon Bon are soft but look chalky and powdery. The rest of the matte shades are good and the shimmers have the best texture. 

Final Thought

Most of the shades are nice and workable. I really like the variety of colors and textures here. You can create a variety of day and night looks. They last pretty much all day when paired with a good primer.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Makeup Look

I decided to pull out my Chocolate Bar palette and create this look since I haven't done a full face makeup look in a while. Plus with all the new eyeshadows I've been getting lately, I haven't got a chance to with it or get a feel for it. So far, I like it!

Too Faced Tinted Beauty Balm - Review and Swatches

Hello Ladies,

I purchased the Too Faced Tinted Beauty Balm about a week ago, which I scored for an awesome deal during's Ulta 21 Days of Beauty sale. This normally retails for $34.00.

What I appreciate about this BB cream is that it comes in 6 different shades, which allows you to get the shade that best matches your skin tone. Vanilla Glow would've worked perfectly for me; however, it was sold out at the time so I grabbed Snow Glow, which is the lighter shade. WARNING, no makeup face below, lol, please don't judge.

Product

• Snow Glow would work best on fair to light skin tone. It looks slightly light on me but once I applied powder over it, it actually blended well with my skin tone.
• This BB cream is quite creamy, light-weight, and moisturizing. You could actually skip the moisturizer if you wanted to.
• When looking up close I see a very subtle shimmer. It is barely noticeable but it's there. I guess that's what they meant by "light-diffusing pigments."
• The cream is rather light and a bit sheer. I have some freckles, a couple pimples, and some old scars. It didn't cover them but it did a good job at evening out my skin tone and slightly blurred my freckles.
• It does look a bit dewy after you've applied it. Some might like, some probably won't. I like to set it with powder to minimize the dewiness. 
• I am a bit oily on the T-Zone and this doesn't prevent it from getting oily. 
• The coverage last fairly well throughout the day for me, about 6 hours under normal condition. Once past the 6 hours, it starts to fade and I notice my face doesn't look as fresh and awake as it did when I first applied it. 

Final Thought

Overall, this BB cream only offer a very light coverage and helps even out skin tone. If you're oily, you probably won't like this much because it's very moisturizing, dewy, and doesn't control oil.
I personally like it. It's great for everyday use because it feels light and looks natural. I wished it lasted a bit longer than 6 hours though.

Hauly Molly, Nail Polish Frenzy!

Hello Lovelies,

I wasn't expecting to be hauling this many nail polishes but found them, loved them, had to bring them home and show you guys.

I went to Ulta primarily to get the Too Faced Tinted Beauty Balm, which was on sale today for $22.00 (originally $34). I got there 30 minutes after the store opened cause stupid me was stalling. The shade that would best match me, Vanilla Glow, was already completely sold out! Big UGHHHH! WHYYYYYY!? Anyways, I picked Nude Glow, which is the lightest shade and we'll see how that goes. I might have to go back and exchange it for the right shade once it's back in stock. I also returned the LORAC Ready, Set, Splash eyeliner set. The Redken Control Addict 28 was a free sample. Used a coupon that Ulta emailed me.

Aside from the BB cream, I picked up Zoya PixieDust Vespa. I thought it was interesting how it had silver glitters in it. I know you can't tell from the picture but it's there.

I also got another Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeshadow Stick in Gossip Green, which is a shimmery medium sage, much cooler toned than pictured. It has a light silvery shimmer to it. Really loving these Scandal Eyes eyeshadow stick. They are so creamy, pigmented, and they don't budge.

Made a pit stop at CVS. I used a $5.00 coupon for this Nicole by OPI All Is Glam, All Is Bright. They are currently on sale for $1.00 off. By redeeming the coupon, I only paid a couple bucks for it.

Stopped by Sally Beauty Supply because I was on the hunt for that Orly nail polish, High On Hope. It's a dark dusty blue with purple and gold shimmer reflects. Soo pretty in the bottle.
While I was there I found Finger Paints Fishin' For Fun and it sure looked fun so I picked it up as well.
The two China Glaze polishes I picked up were from the Cirque du Soleil collection and were on clearance for $3.29 each. I got Running In Circles and Water You Waiting For.

Lastly, I went to Wal-Mart to get some groceries and spotted these new Pure Ice and Hard Candy glitters. I was so excited I almost squealed, lol. Private Show looks like a potential dupe to Butter London The Black Knight. In case you were wondering, the Hard Candy polishes are $4.00 a pot. They have so many new and pretty shades that I almost wanted to buy them all.

Overall, I didn't do too bad on this haul. I got some good discount on half of the product I hauled.

Too Faced Color Confections Swatches

Hello there,

I just wanted to show you one of the gift that I received for Christmas. It's the Too Faced Color Confections palette. It was such a pleasant surprise. I just love how cute the packaging looks. At first I thought it was a fancy box of chocolate.

In this box, you get:

• Two blushes
• Two Bronzers
• Two eyeshadow quad
• 3 lip glosses

I love the range of color, which are great for everyday wear. The only duds in this palette is the pink eyeshadow, which felt chalky and powdery and lacks in pigmentation, and the gold eyeshadow was also lacking in pigmentation. Aside from that, I think this is a good overall face palette and I know I will be enjoying most of these products. I read that this palette is exclusive to Ulta.

My Favorite Black Eyeliners

I am probably one of the most picky person when it comes to eyeliners and I've tried many brands but between drugstore and high-end liners, I honestly had much better luck with high-end brands. Many drugstore liners just don't cut it for me and I've had issues with either pigmentation, packaging, formula, or a combination of the three.

With that said, here are my top picks of best black eyeliners.

• Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner Perversion, $19.00. This liner was part of the Urban Decay Book of Shadows Volume 4 and has become my most recent favorite eyeliner because I just started using it. You can certainly purchase it on its own. Urban Decay totally nailed it on both the packaging and the formula. First take a look at the brush. Look at how thin it is. It can create the thinnest line you can ever do with an eyeliner. The flexibility and length of the brush is perfect. It's flexible enough to help you maneuver around the curve of your eyes and yet it's firm enough to apply color just where you want it. The pigmentation is also very black with a slight glossy finish. The formula is waterproof, smudge-proof, budge-proof, and stays on until you take it off. If you want your eyeliner to look perfect for hours and hours, through tears, sweat, or rain, you need this eyeliner.

• MAC SuperSlick Liquid Eyeliner Marked For Glamour, $18.50. Ok so this color is not really black but the closest to black that I have from the line. I actually have 3 of these liners and in different colors, except for the black. Marked for Glamour is a shimmery charcoal grey. As far as pigmentation goes, it is fairly good. You'd have to shake the tube well before use. The formula is a bit wet upon application so be sure to wipe out any errors right away before it sets because once it sets, it won't budge. This doesn't claim to be waterproof but I find that it does have a pretty good lasting power. I typically get up to 12 hours of wear this and after that, it starts flaking off. The felt tip applicator has a bit of a spongy texture to it. It has just the perfect amount of flexibility and firmness to make application very easy. MAC does offer a black color along with a few other shades.

• Make Up Forever Aqua Liner Waterproof 13 Mat Black, $23.00. The formula is pretty black and quite pigmented. You'd have to shake the tube well before use in order to get a better pigmentation. It has a slight glossiness to it and is truly waterproof. Prior to using the UD 24/7 liner, this was my go-to waterproof liner. This won't budge until you take it off, and on top of that you'd have to use makeup remover especially formulated for waterproof makeup in order to get it to come off. As far as the felt tip applicator, I find it to be a bit too firm and short for my liking. I would have prefered a bit more of flexiblity because it makes drawing a line much easier. Regardless, it is still a pretty good liner with an outstanding formula.

• Too Faced Perfect Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner Perfect Black, $18.00. I mainly use this pencil liner on the waterline. For some reason, it has a tendency to smudge, migrate, and transfer when applied on the lash line, which I find weird for something that claims to be waterproof or maybe it's just me. For the waterline, it last 3-4 hours, which is pretty outstanding because I've never had a liner perform that long on the waterline. The corners tend to fade faster but if you set it with a black eyeshadow, you'd be amazed at the lasting power. This liner also come with a smudger, which I hardly use cause I find it too stiff for my liking. The formula is extremely pigmented and dark. It is also very creamy and smooth. I'd only recommend this one for the waterline. It might work for you on your lids if they are not that oily or hooded. With hooded eyelids, most pencil liners tend to transer into my crease and this one does it too.

• Physicians Formula Eye Booster Ultra Black, $10-$11. Probably the only drugstore liner that hasn't failed me. This supposedly has a serum to thicken and lenghten your lashes. I personally have not noticed any change as far as the condition of my lashes and I've used 3 or 4 of these already. Other than that the formula is pretty black but a litle wet. You will often have to shake it in order to get the color to flow through the bristles. This is a tappered brush tip that looks exactly like Lorac Front of the Line Pro eyeliner. I love everything about that brush tip. It dispenses the right amount of product. It's firm yet flexible. The very fine tip can create ultra thin lines. When it comes to the applicator, this one and the UD liner is my favorite because they give me the best control. It isn't waterproof but it is smudge-proof, budge-proof, and last me all day. The finish is very slightly glossy. This is my go-to every day liner.
