April MyGlam Bag

When I got back from my trip, I found in my mail box that I had received the new MyGlam bag for this month.

What I received:
  • A metallic makeup bag. The quality of it is pretty mediocre and I would prefer to receive another makeup product in place of it. I certainly do not need a monthly bag.
  • One shader brush and one angled liner brush. They both have the MyGlam logo stamped on it. The quality of the brush seems pretty decent.
  • The Dermstore Lip Quench. I don't get why we get another lip treatment when we were already sent one last month.
  • Eyelashes. They look nice and natural, which I like.
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Junkie. This is not a full size liner but you still get a decent amount of product. I haven't swatched it yet but from the looks of it, it looked a lot like my MAC Pearlglide Undercurrent. I may have to do a dupe comparisson.

I liked what I received but I still feel underwhelmed. I mean there wasn't anything that got me very excited. What are your thoughts on the MyGlam bags? Have you canceled already?

March MyGlam Bag

I received my March MyGlam bag yesterday. I signed up in mid-January but didn't get my first bag until February. So far, I haven't been very impressed with the two bags that I received.
What I received this month:

  • A blending brush with a pink carrying case. The case is just ok. Nothing special to it. You'd probably still need something to prevent it from opening if you want to use it to carry your brushes while traveling. The brush seems like a pretty decent quality too. The only thing that annoyed me was the strong chemical scent from both the brush and case.
  • Pur-Lip Comfort daily lip nourisher. That's a pretty decent size lip product. I have never heard of this brand before. I have pretty dry lips so I wonder if this will help. This retails for $16.00.
  • Samples--Pur-Lisse essential daily moiturizer, Keracolor Leave-in Treatment, and Murad Eye Lift Perfector. This was like meh! You can usually get these type of samples for free.
  • $25 gift card for the DermStore. This is much better than the NuMe certificate I got last month. I've never ordered from the DermStore before but there is actually stuff I might need from there. You are however required to spend a minimum of $50. Kinda sucks that they are making you spend more in order to validate the gift card but at the same time, if you do see something you like, the gift card does come in handy. I appreciate the fact that the site offers free shipping regardless of how small your purchase is.

My overall thought for this month is well, it's not too bad. Better than last month for sure. I don't really mind receiving gift cards as long as they are reasonable and I can use it to buy something I want or need.

February My Glam Bag

Hi everyone,

I decided to jump on the My Glam bandwagon last month after seeing a few posts of what people have been receiving. I typically try to steer away from these monthly subscription companies because from what I've seen so far it seems like it'll be only a waste of my money.
What's interesting about My Glam is that for $10 a month you receive a bag filled with custom goodies, some of which are brands we are familiar with and love. You get a mix of 4 to 5 samples, deluxe samples, or full size product in your bag. I don't mind receiving samples but my problem is that I always forget to use my samples. So knowing that I'll be receiving some full size product really peaked my interest.
I placed my first order last month but was only scheduled to receive my bag on the following month. I was a little disappointed that everyone else got their bag and confirmation before me. Given I had received an email stating that the last bag would be shipped on Valentine and I didn't get a confirmation until the day after.

What I received
  • A cute pink bag with black hearts.
  • Ghirardelly chocolate
  • Premier Instant Stretching and Revitalizing Mask sample, Premier Concentrated Facial Serum Sample, and a 50% off coupon code (MYGLAM) for www.premierdeadsea.com. I'm not sure if the coupon code is only good toward the Cinderella Mask or if it can be used for anything in the store.
  • NYX Roll On Shimmer Onyx. I not sure if I'm going to love this but I can tell you that I am already not liking the color. Considering the way that it is packaged, that would mean that I can only use this to do an all over dark smoky look. IDK how that's going to turn out.
  • X Out Shine Control. I could definitely use this on my T-zone, which is usually the oiliest part of my face.
  • Freeman Facial Enzyme Mask Pineapple. I've never tried this before so I'm sure looking forward to it.
  • $100 gift card for NuMe Professional Styling tools or Hair Extensions. Wow, that's probably the most exciting part of this month's bag. I'm definitely going to check out the extensions.

Oh and one last thing, all these goodies came in this fancy-looking metallic pink envelope that I find very cool.
Have you jumped on the My Glam bandwagon yet? What do you think of My Glam?
