Beautique Lip Crayons Swatches - Blackberry, Raspberry, Copper

I hope yall had a wonderful and well rested weekend. It's unfortunate how quickly it goes by.

I got these lip pencils when they were on sale for $1.99 each at Sally Beauty Supply. They are fairly inexpensive and does the job. They are creamy and pigmented enough to deliver good color payoff and help make your lipstick last longer. I really wished I'd discovered them sooner.

Blackberry is a dark vampy purple plum with a matte finish. Up close it does apply a bit patchy but from afar looks ok. I'm still digging the color.

Raspberry is a medium berry plum with a matte finish. It looks so nice! It was the creamiest of the 3 and had the most even application.

Copper is a medium shimmery copper. It looks uneven from up close but ok from afar. It's a really pretty color as well.

Not sure if the review will be relevant to anyone because I got these from Sally Beauty's Clearance rack and I think they may be discontinued? I don't know but I guess just throwing it out there in case you may still find them in store.


Packaging

• I would describe the packaging as simple elegance. It looks nice without looking expensive, if that makes sense. At first glance, I thought these pencils looked unusual because they're slim but the tip is big and wide. Once you sharpen them, the tips do get smaller and take on the shape of a regular pencil. There is one small problem here, the product is a gel formula in a pencil form and the product is pretty soft and will bend or break easily during sharpening. Your best bet is to keep them in the freezer for a few minutes before sharpening.

Product

• Navy is a a dark navy blue with a matte finish
• Pewter is a medium metallic silver grey with a blue undertone
• Rose Gold is a light metallic beige
• What I liked about the formula is that it applies very smoothly just like what you would expect from a gel liner. It's hard to get a thin line with these pencils and because the product is so emollient you'd have to be careful not to put too much pressure or you can also break the tip. 
• They set fairly quickly and once they do they are budge-proof and smudge-proof for hours.
• I do notice a bit a fading after 6 hours of wear but the good thing is they don't migrate or smear. 

Final Thought

The formula is pretty darn good cause it's pigmented, smooth, budge-proof, and long-wearing. I think the packaging is a bit problematic for this gel formula. It's hard to sharpen without breaking or bending the gel. Overall, you'll like this if you don't mind dealing with the packaging and sharpening.

Beautique Lip Liner Currant Swatch and Review

Whew, it was a busy week for me. I've been working late and ended up having to work yesterday as well so it really feels like a short weekend.

I don't typically review lip liners but I probably should. For me, I don't expect much from a lip liner other than good pigmentation, decent amount of creaminess for smooth application, help prolong lip color, and prevent feathering.

Beautique is a brand that you can find at Sally Beauty Supply. I grabbed this one from the clearance section. Just cause I was curious and love the fact that it was really cheap. I can't remember how much I exactly paid for it but I think a buck or less.

Currant is the name of the shade and it's a matte dark reddish brown. I'm really digging this color! I was pleasantly surprised at the texture and pigmentation. It's not super creamy but just has the right amount of creaminess that when applied, it doesn't pull, skip, or tug on the skin and was able to get a fairly even application. This is a pretty long pencil and it's got 1.28 g or .045 oz. Do like it, definitely would repurchase if I ever run out of it.
