Cover Girl Emerald Blaze Nail Polish & Comparison With OPI Green On The Runway

Cover Girl Emerald Blaze is a name that I find fitting for this nail color. It has this beautiful metallic sheen to it and is slightly duochrome. As you can see, certain area have darker, cooler tone, olive green color to it, giving this polish more dimension.

I picked this up at Walgreens about a month ago because I thought it looked pretty but I didn't realize until I got home that I may already have a dupe for it.

So the dupe that I'm talking about is OPI Green On The Runway. As you can see, they look pretty identical. I couldn't tear them apart when I have them swatched next to each other.
There is however a difference in the formula. The OPI formula is thinner and easier to apply and you'd need 3 coats for opacity. The Cover Girl one is thicker and you'll have to be more careful how you apply it because it may create bald spot in some area. It's workable and two coats is enough to reach opacity.
I still prefer the smoother and thinner formula of OPI as it is easier to work with but Cover Girl Emerald Blaze is definitely a good dupe if you want something similar but cheaper.

H & M Confetti Rain

I don't go to H&M often but when I do, I usually like to check out their beauty section and what I picked up lately is this tiny little glitter polish.

Confetti Rain has a clear base with pearly white shimmers, white glitters, and pinkish purple glitters. The formula was just a little thick but easy to work with and applies the glitters evenly.
On the swatches, I have one coat of Confetti Rain over Sparitual Endless Possibilities. How sparkly fun!

I believe it was about $3. I thought I was a bit pricey for such a tiny bottle.

I Love Nail Polish Ultra Chrome Flakies - Electric Carnival and Supernova

Happy Sunday!

It's been a beautiful weekend. The weather is feeling like Spring and I find that uplifting. These new holographic flakies came out about a month ago. I wasn't in a rush to get them but I knew I was going to get at least these two.

You can purchase them from ilnp.com for $12.50 each. The turn around time is pretty good. I think I got my order within a week from the date I ordered and everything is always carefully packaged. I just noticed that they added more colors to the Holographic flakies so I'm really tempted to get some more.

Electric Carnival is a multichrome flakie that shifts from a golden green, magenta, and bronze. The base is clear, not too thick or thin, and the great part is that there is a whole lot of flakies in that bottle so the brush picks up a fairly good amount on the first coat. It's easy to apply and work with. Woooah look at that gorgeousness! It's mesmerizing.

On the swatches, I have 2 coats of Electric Carnival over Sparitual Endless Possibilities.

Supernova is a multichrome flakie that shifts color from teal to magenta. I thought the name was really cool. Then again ILNP always has cool names for their polishes. The formula is pretty much the same as Electric Carnival.

I only did one coat this time over Sparitual Undercurrent. On some of the swatches that I googled online, if you layer this completely over the nail, you can get a holographic foil look.

What do you think of these flakies?

Sinful Colors Shamrockin'

Missed my nail swatches? Haven't had them in a while. I've finally got a chance to grow my nails and take a few pictures....And guess what happened next! I broke a nail and now my nails are uneven again, boo! It's so annoying. Especially when it takes 2 to 3 weeks at least to grow them back.

So I saw this cutesy Shamrockin' nail polish at Walgreens like a week or two ago and knew I just had to bring it home. If you're too lazy to draw design patterns on your nails for St Paddy's day, this is the polish for you (and me).

I have OPI Jade is the new black as the base color and then I topped it off with a couple coat of glitters. You had to fish for the white flowers and it was pretty hard to get them on the brush. Otherwise the base is clear and has a medium consistency. There are light matte green and darker metallic green glitters. So cute!

Favorite Nail Polishes of 2014

I don't know how many polishes I purchased last year but I know it's quite a bunch. Though I like them and some more than others, I am surprised my list of nail polish favorites isn't as long as I thought it would be. I'm trying really hard to control myself and try to stick with unique colors.

Urban Decay Addiction

This nail polish has been around for a while but I didn't purchase it at first. However, when I spotted it at a discounted price at my local Nordstrom Rack, I decided to pick it up.

Addiction is a shimmery gunmetal grey with green and gold shimmers. The formula is a bit on the thicker side but with careful application you can get an even coverage without much trouble. It goes on opaque within 2 coats. It is similar to Chanel Graphite but a bit greener and darker.
