Finger Paints BOGO Haul and Swatches - Rockin' Renaissance, Gorgeous Graffiti, Magenta Mural, and Surreal Sunset

Happy Monday!

We got more snow today...Ughhh! The roads were pretty bad and my car almost got stuck but I managed to make it home safely. I just saw these comments below about this Revlon Matte Balm swatch that someone repinned into their board on Pinterest and I was like REALLY? Does it bother you that much that I have a mole? Yes, it's a mole people! Love it or hate it, it's mine so why should it even matter to you? Educate yourself if you can't tell the difference between a mole and herpes. It's been with me since childhood. And now that we're on the topic, I just want to say RELAX! it is non-cancerous, even if it freaks you out. I feel the need to reassure you since a little while ago someone actually politely suggested on my blog that I go see a physician because my mole was concerning to them. Heck, I work at a clinic. I see physicians all the time. None of the experts raised the alarm but I suppose the reality is not everybody knows what a mole is or what it looks like :(
I love my mole even if you don't. It's harmless and I wouldn't think of removing it...or photoshopping it as someone suggested. OK, now that I got that off my chest, I just want to say I'm ok and my feelings aren't hurt. I just didn't want people to be concerned or misdiagnose my lovely mole for something it isn't. I guess I'm confused because it looks perfectly normal to me. And lastly, I feel terribly sorry for those who shamelessly display their ignorance and lack of brain. I will pray for them people tonight.

Ok ok...I stop right now. I'm done with the mole thing....

In case you didn't know, Finger Paints nail polishes are on sale, buy 1 get 1 free, at Sally Beauty Supply through out the month of February. This is a big deal ya know. I was there a couple days ago and my oh my! I couldn't help myself when I saw these beautiful polishes. The sale is perfect for my budget so I pick up these 4 beauties.

Rockin' Renaissance is a mauvy purpleish brown textured polish with gold glitters. It's stunning and very textured. I would have liked it better if the texture was a bit smoother. The formula is thick and a bit difficult to spread out evenly and dries fairly quickly. You only need 2 coats for full coverage.

With a clear top coat

Gorgeous Graffiti is a bright fuchsia/magenta with fine blue shimmers. The formula is not too thin or too thick and applies very nicely. You can get full coverage in 2 coats but personally I like it better with 3 coats, which is what I have on the swatches. It dries to a somewhat matte finish and fairly quickly.

A clear coat gives the shimmers more depth and dimension

Magenta Mural is a mauvy magenta purple very subtle and fine pink shimmers giving it that gorgeous satin finish. So beautiful! As many purple as I have in my collection, I have nothing like it. It's so shiny and I'm not even wearing a top coat. The formula is a bit thick but manageable. Only two coats is needed for full coverage. It's right on trend with the color of the year so just get it! You'll love it.

As I was staring at the Finger Paints rack, I spotted the last of this color and as I picked it up I was like wow, what a fabulous duochrome! Surreal Sunset is very shimmery and sparkly. It shifts from brownish purple to a greenish bronze. The color shift is very strong and beautiful. I didn't have any trouble with the formula, it is a bit thin and sheer but can be build up to full coverage in 3 coats.

Did you already pick up some Finger Paints? If yes, which ones did you get?

    1. Thank you. I love my mole. My mother tried to get me to remove it when I was little and didn't know better so I actually thought of doing it but eventually as I got older I started loving it more and more. I'm glad it left it alone. There is a uniqueness to it that I enjoy.

  2. Gosh, I feel like I should apologize for those comments and I didn't even make them. I'm just amazed at how horrible people can be.. did they not have anyone when they were little to teach them right from wrong? Basic courtesy? It's going to take a lot more than makeup to cover all that ugly on the inside. I have a rather large mole on my temple, and a smaller one on the outside corner of my right eye, and a lump under my left brow that makes it slightly crooked.. and I'm not getting any of it removed or photoshopped either. It's me, take it or leave it.

All four of those polishes were lovely, especially that first one.. very unique.

    1. Glad you enjoy the swatches. There is not need to say sorry for something you didn't do. I agree no amount of makeup can cover the ugliness coming from someone's mouth and mind that's just too bad for them. A mole isn't something we choose to have and where we want it. It's a part of us that comes naturally.

Also, I'm glad you're not letting the dumb comments about your mole get to you. I actually think it looks quite charming, and mean people should just stfu. :)

    1. You're welcome. I think I am more shocked about the lack of dignity people have for themselves than the stupid things that are being said about my mole.

  4. Well, first I have to say that I cringe just reading those comments! Do people not realize that there's a PERSON behind the photos they're pinning, and they might be hurt by such nasty and ignorant comments? Sheesh!! I don't think there's anything odd about having a mole--I have some small ones and some large ones on different parts of my body, and I don't worry about them. They're a part of me. I'm not going to Photoshop them out just to satisfy someone else and their stupidity.

Okay, rant aside...those are some seriously amazing polishes! I love that bright magenta. I have a similar one in my Zoya haul, I really need to swatch/photograph it but I've been feeling so blah all week that I just haven't done any polishing!

    1. I look forward to your swatches. I broke a nail right after I swatched mines. Boo! I believe the mean comments were intentional and meant to be condescending with no regards to others or their own dignity, which is the saddest part.

  5. The comments on that Pin are just ignorant. Your mole is a beauty mark and it IS lovely!! Enough said. You also picked out some great colors - Magenta Mural is gorgeous. Your so lucky to have a snow day - it snowed like the dickens here but I had to be at work and we don't even do anything critical!

    1. I hate how they make us work through all sort of weather. When it was below 30 I still have to come to work and I couldn't even start my car. Initially I was supposed to shop for prizes to giveaway at my sister's baby shower and I ended up keeping them for myself...I'm so bad lol

  6. I have always loved your mole! Did u know a modeling agency once told Cindy Crawford to remove her mole before she made it big? Pfffft idiots...

    1. Yes I heard about her mole too. It amazes me how people think of moles like it's a disease and need to be removed. Most moles are pretty harmless.

  7. The only thing I can offer is to ignore the ignorant. Those comments were mean-spirited and well, just ignorant. Some people just have no couth...at all! I agree that your mole is a beauty mark...you have some of the best lipstick, lip balm and lip gloss swatches.

Beautiful nail polish swatches...all of the colors are so pretty. I think my favorite is Surreal Sunset, but I really like all of them.

  8. I too have a mole on my face, it is on my left cheek. I have embraced it, and think it too looks pretty sexy and it makes me, ME. Some people are so ignorant and ridiculous, don't let it get to you. I love your blog and I trust your lip-related product reviews and swatches the most, always spot on.
I really like the last swatch of the new polishes, the duochrome looks amazing! Now if we could get some sun here in Michigan, it would really look pretty on my tips! xoxo

    1. The weather is so bipolar here in the midwest. I hope finger paints make more duochrome. Surreal sunset has such a strong and beautiful color shift. I'm glad to hear you embrace your mole just as much as I do and thank you for putting your trust in my reviews. It means a lot to know that :)

  9. It's amazing how quick people are to judge on things they don't know! For the record, I've always liked your mole. It lets me know how pigmented a product is! Haha joking, but I am wowed by your ability to forgive and forget. Stay safe in the snow!

  10. Haha thanks. I have more important things that deserve my attention and ignorant comments has no priority for me. I don't got time for that. I don't expect people to like me or my mole. They have the right to dislike but calling a mole herpes like it's a disease just kicked stupidity to another level. Strangers can't do me any harm with just words. The only people that could hurt me if they wanted to are only the ones that I care about.

  11. Complete idiots with no etiquette. That's all I gotta say. It's so obviously a mole and even so they are horrendous for piling on such comments. I would hope the person who pinned it eventually said something about their comments! Don't feel bad one bit, those girls probably can't apply more than eyeliner and lipgloss and don't have near the technical skill you have! I love love the first glitter bronze polish with the clear polish and that hot neon orchid shade, totally would wear it with an all white or black outfit!
