My Super Duper NOTW :D

Ok, I don't generally hype about something unless it is amazing and this NOTW is OFF THE HOOK!
First off, I want to give myself a kick in the rear for not realizing how freakishly amazing this polish can be. I'm talking about the Milani Holographic Nail polish. The one I have on my nails is Hi-Tech, which is a greenish holographic.
On its own, it looks ok but compared to the other Milani Holographic polishes, the holographic in this particular polish looks a bit more noticeable.
Now, if you use a black nail polish underneath, the holographic seriously comes to life! As you can see, I tried to take several pictures from different angle in hopes to capture the holos the best way possible and it looks just stunning! I can't stop starring at my nails.
Now I am curious to try and see how the other shades look like with a black nail polish base.

What is your favorite nail polish combo? Please share.

My Halloween Costume and FOTD

Ok, I'm on a roll with posting today. I was going to recreate this look and retake better pictures of my Halloween look and costume because when I went out to the Halloween party, I was in such rush that the pictures I took weren't that great. However, since I am too lazy to redo the whole thing, I am just going to post the picture I took on the day I went out, lol.
Please forgive the blurness and tackiness of the body shot.

I purchased this saloon girl outfit from buycostumes.com for $50.00. I also was able to get 15% discount on it too. If interested, you can click HERE to see the costume info on the website. I know it might be too late to get this before Halloween but you can always get it for next year or if you just like wearing costumes.
Here is what it looks like on the model...Much better than me.

My thoughts on the costume...
The material wasn't the best but it looked pretty decent and the price wasn't too bad. On the back there is a laced ribbon and you can actually adjust to fit your needs. There is also a pink satin bow on the back around the waist line. The top was actually a bit big on me so my boobs was sorta out there and since I was in a rush, I didn't have time to sew of fix anything..Boo!
The outfit also comes with a matching choker, which seems to make me look like I don't have a neck, lol. I also wore fishnets and added a fabric rose to my hair.
Overall, I liked the costume. It's not something you see people typically wear to Halloween parties (I think).

For the look, my makeup was dramatic. I wore dark smokey blue eyeshadows and paired with MAC Rebel lipstick. And to complete the look, I of course had to curl my hair. Sorry, I didn't take better pictures of the makeup. I wish I did though.

That's it for my Halloween OOTD and FOTD. What are you going to be for Halloween? If you have pictures, I'd love to see them too.

NARS Outremer Make Up Look

As some of you requested and since I couldn't wait to try it out too, lol...I did a makeup look featuring the NARS Outremer eyeshadow, which recently launched as part of NARS fall collection (I think). If you love bold colors, or would like to give it a go, you definitely should try this eyeshadow. It's a fierce matte indigo blue.
When I first saw it, I was like OMG I need to get this! I hold off until the Sephora Friends and Family sale to get it since it is expensive for a single eyeshadow. I typically don't shed that kind of money on a single eyeshadow unless it find a uniqueness about it or if I am head over heel for it.
I would also like to point out that since it is matte and the consistency of the shadow was on the drier side, I did find it a bit difficult to work with. So you have to be patient building up the color. Blending was not easy either. At the end, I was pretty happy with the result and the look that I created.
I know a lot of people think they can't pull off bright bold colors but I honestly think that anyone can. I personally prefer to wear neutrals too on regular days but for my blog, I like to experiment and get creative.
Anyhoo...Enough with the rambling and on to the look. I decided to kill 3 birds with one stone for this look, haha. That doesn't always happen but it worked. By that I meant, I used 3 new products that I recently hauled: NARS Outremer eyeshadow, MAC Shimmermint baked eyeshadow, and MAC Soft Sable lipstick.

Eyes
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion original formula
  • I first started with Outremer as the crease color
  • On the lid, I applied MAC Shimmer Mint with a wet brush to bring out the intensity of the color since this was going to be a bold look.
  • I lined the upper lash line with NYX Studio Liquid Eyeliner in Extreme Blue.
  • I lined the lower lash line and waterline with Prestige Total Intensity Fierce Blue
  • I used Milani Liquif"Eye Black for tight lining
  • I filled my brows with Sephora brow tint marker
  • I added false lashes on top and bottom
Cheeks
  • NYX Blush Taupe for contour
  • MAC Hang Loose for blush and highlight
Lips
  • MAC Soft Sable from the Glitter and Ice Collection. I included a lip swatch picture too since I didn't do that on my haul post.

I hope you enjoyed this look and that it inspired you to try out new colors.

What would you pair Outremer with? Just curious.

Wet N Wild Ice Baby Collection Haul

I went to another Walgreens...Again, lol. When I found that these polishes were new, limited edition, and fully stocked, I was like wow my weekend has been AWWWWSOME! lol. I wished they were on BOGO sale though, nonetheless, I still bought them anyways. They probably aren't going to last long on the shelf and with me on the prowl, I've already snagged the majority of them, *evil grin*...I know I'm so greedy!

There is 8 of them in the collection but somehow I didn't get one of them because it sort of look similar to something I already have.
They are all glittery polishes so if you don't like glitters you won't care much for these. I like everything that sparkles even if they are not diamonds, lol.
They are $2.99 a pot so you could actually buy them all without breaking your piggy bank. I didn't try them on my nails yet but from my observation, there is a lot of glitters in the bottle and you may be able to get a pretty good coverage with 2 coats.
Not sure if I will be swatching these but if you are interested in seeing the swatches, let me know.

Walgreens Hauling

Yesterday, I took my kids out to lunch and on our way back we stopped by Walgreens. There's been a few new Wet N Wild products I have been dying to find and guess what...When I saw them on display, I was ECSTATIC! What's even better is that, none of them were sold out yet and on BOGO sale, ha!

So here I have the limited edition holiday baked eyeshadow palette (I thought the names of the palette were cute):
  • Bake Off Contest - mostly blues
  • Baking a cake - mostly pinks
  • Baked, Not Fried - Browns/Neutrals

Wet N Wild also came up with a new all matte eyeshadow palette. I'm very happy to see that they included colors as well as neutrals. I'm so excited. I've been trying to add more matte eyeshadows to my collection.

I have never tried these Sally Hansen nail polishes and they were on sale, two for $10.00. I picked Plum Luck and Red Zin. I probably gonna have to go back to exchange Red Zin because when I opened the bottle, the brush was completely twisted. What a bummer! It's such a pretty deep rich red polish.

I was looking to see if I could find Essie School of Hard Rocks after seeing Brooklyn Queen (from Luuux) haul this polish. It's an interesting shade that quickly caught my eyes. It's sort of a muted teal color. Another Polish that caught my attention is Over the Knee, it's a cross between mauve and brown with very very fine gold and pink shimmers. Very fall-ish colors that I needed to add to my polish collection. I just ordered more from Amazon so stay tuned for more nail polish spam, lol.

My daugther picked a pack of Schick shavers and EOS shaving cream. I didn't know EOS made shaving cream. I know they are popular for their lipbalm but they were on sale two for $5.00.
That's it for my haul. I will try to post swatches of the Wet N Wild eyeshadows ASAP.

Have you had any luck finding these new Wet N Wild eyeshadows? I still haven't found the Holiday cream eyeshadow palettes but from the swatches I've seen, I'm not sure if I will like them since they seem to be very glittery.

MAC Glitter and Ice Collection Haul and Swatches

If you didn't know it already, MAC holiday collection just came out yesterday. Who can keep up with these collection anyways? It's insane how often MAC comes up with a new one. Anyways, from the review and pictures that I've seen prior to the release, I didn't think I was going to get much out of it but I somehow managed to pick a few things once I saw them in person. Sometimes the pictures don't capture how the products truly looks in real life.

So here I have
  • Let's Skate Paint Pot
  • Morning Frost Paint Pot
  • Soft Sable lipstick (Frost)
  • Shimmermint mineralize eyeshadow

Let's Skate is a frosty shimmery light pink with fine fuchsia and gold glitter. It is so pretty in person and quite a unique color.

Morning Frost is a frosty shimmery light taupe.

Shimmermint is a shimmery frosty bluish mint shadow. It's quite sparkly and very pretty. I don't have any shadows like this one so I'm glad that I picked this out.

Soft Sable is a frosty silvery nude. Some may find this shade hard to pull off but it actually didn't look too bad on myself.

The overall look and feel of this collection is quite wintry, frosty, and cool-toned...which goes well with the holiday theme.

What did you think of this collection? Did you find anything you liked?

Sephora Friends and Family Haul

I received my order a few days ago already. I try to limit myself on makeup purchases since it's already hard for me to get through the stuff I already own. So most of the products I picked on this haul are skincare. I know skincare product can get expensive but I always put them to good use and they never get wasted.

Caudalie Anti-Dark Spot & Radiance Set. I purchased this set mainly for the VinoPerfect serum. It is supposed to lighten hyper-pigmentation and discoloration. The full-size bottle is so expensive that I preferred to get the value set. That way, I also get to try other products from the line to see if I like it. The set contains the radiance serum, enzymatic peel mask, day perfecting fluid, and cell renewing night cream.

I'm also a fan of Boscia products and the Enlivening Amino-AG eye treatment as well as the Restorative night moisture cream are repurchases. They are my holy grail skincare product. I absolutely love how good they make my skin feel.
With the sale, I decided to get the full-size Josie Maran Argan Oil 1.7oz. This is probably going to last me a while. I love how gentle and moisturizing it feels without feeling heavy and it absorbs quickly.

I also got the Urban Decay primer potion in the original formula.
Last but not least, I have been dying to get the NARS Outremer eyeshadow. I typically don't really like spending a lot of money on a single eyeshadow but this color is just unique and I have nothing like it. It's a gorgeous matte indigo blue. Can't wait to see what kind of looks I can create with this color.

I've also been wanting the NARS blush palette but it was sold out when I place my order. I will get it eventually when it is restocked.

So that's it for my haul. Did you purchase anything from the sale?

My Beauty Station

Well, I didn't really have a beauty station to begin with, lol. So this is more of an upgrade. My beauty products were pretty much all over the place in my bedroom, especially on my computer desk. A few weeks ago, my sister-in-law posted on Facebook that she was getting rid of her computer desk so I asked her if I could have it. I was in desperate need to do something to organize my makeup because I was running out of storage space. I didn't want to spend money on a fancy vanity so I thought the computer desk would do the trick.

This is a medium-sized metal and glass computer desk. It has a small shelf on the right, where I think the printer would typically be stored but I decided to put my spinning storage thingy. Underneath that, I have the majority of my lipsticks. On the back, I have a couple 3-tier organizers, which holds random stuff.
On the side, I have a metal 3-drawer cart, where most of my eyeshadows and palettes are stored.
Underneath the desk, I have my nail products and a tool organizer, which is also great for storing makeup.

The desk has a sliding compartment for the keyboard. I decided to store there my blushes, gel liners, cream eyeshadows, concealers, some lipsticks, and pigments.

Overall, I really like my makeup station. So far, it's holding everything that I've got and keeping things a little more organized and easier to reach. So if you don't have a lot of money to spend on a fancy vanity, definitely consider using a computer desk (if you haven't already). I'm pretty sure you can find one for cheap at your local yard sale.

If you have any storage ideas for your beauty products, please feel free to share. I'm always looking for ways to improve.

Blue Green Makeup Look

As much as I love makeup, I find that I don't play with it often enough and on a daily basis my makeup looks are usually quite simple and neutral. Last night, I came up with this look. The funny thing is after snapping a few pictures, I felt overwhelmingly tired and just went straight to bed. I wish I had taken more decent pictures before dozing off.

Face
  • NARS Orgasm on cheeks, Albatross as highlighter, and Laguna for contour
Eyes
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion Eden
  • Love Alpha palette #5. I purchased this palette from the Golden Rose store in Chicago. I used the lime green color over the lid, the dark green on the outter V, the grey on the crease, and the shimmery white/gold on my browbone.
  • I used Tarte Amazonian Clay liner on my waterline and for tightlining.
  • I applied false lashes
  • I lined the my upper lash line with NYX Studio Liner Extreme Blue
  • I lined the lower lash line with MAC Pearlglide Undercurrent and the lime green from the shadow palette.
Lips
  • Cover Girl Lip Perfection Divine

That's it for my makeup look. Hope you enjoyed. What is your favorite eyeshadow color?

China Glaze Senorita Bonita

This is what was on my nails last week. Senorita Bonita is a shimmery bright magenta with very fine pink glitters. It was part of the Island Escape collection.  The formula is not too thin or thick. The first coat was kinda sheer and uneven but the second coat helped even out the color. I like it much better with a third coat.
