Radiant Orchid Eye Makeup & Swatches

I decided to have a little fun by shopping my stash and pull out shades of Radiant Orchids that I already have. Speaking of that, I am a bit shocked that Sephora + Pantone only came out with one lipstick for this year's color. Did I miss something? That is all that I could find on their website. Kinda shocking, considering the past couple years, they did come up with an entire collection. I wonder what's the deal with that.

I find the shades of radiant orchid very flattering, feminine, and romantic. I wouldn't be surprised if you already own a few similar shades.

Here, I have some swatches from the Coastal Scents Winterberry palette. These are quite shimmery but has a smooth texture and nice pigmentation.

Here I swatched a few shades from the NYX 10 Color Eyeshadow Palette - Velvet Rope. They have fairly good pigmentation. A bit shimmery but more like satin finish.

Did you already find some radiant orchid shades in your stash?
Stay tuned for more radiant orchid makeup posts.

Prestige Brow Perfection Brow Building System Medium-Deep Review

This review is way overdue. I've been using The Prestige Brow Perfection for over a month I think. I wish there was more of these kind of tinted brow gel on the market because filling your brows with a pencil or powder just can't do what these brow gel do.

Packaging

  • This is a dual brow product with one side being a tinted fiber filler and the other side being a clear setting gel. Both end has a mascara type wand applicator.
  • .30 oz or 8.87 ml

Product
  • What I normally do before I use the Brow Perfection is fill in my brows with either a pencil or a powder to give shape and fullness to my brows.
  • The first step is to use the tinted side, which comes with fibers and is supposed to make your brows look thicker. The gel is on the thin side with an ok pigmentation. I normally do two coats and it dries fairly quickly between coats. There aren't that many fibers on the wand. I don't know if they do anything but I do notice a subtle difference. I think it's mainly because of the tinted gel and not so much because of the fibers.
  • Once the tinted gel dries, the second step is to add the clear setting gel. Quite honestly, I don't find this step necessary but I would agree that it does help brush off some stray fibers. However, you're going to end up with the tinted gel color on the wand. If you don't want the clear gel to get tinted you will need to clean the wand before dipping it back into the tube.
  • I took a before and after picture and you can clearly see that after I'm done, my brows look more defined and a little thicker yet still very natural looking. I really love how it keeps my brow hair in place and looking nicely groomed.

Final Thought

I think the tinted gel could have been just a wee bit thicker and more pigmented. The result yield slightly thicker, defined, and very natural looking brows that stays in place all day. I didn't have any issues with the product fading or flaking off. So if you are looking for a more affordable way to thicken and darken your brows, I think this does a fairly decent job.

Prestige Total Intensity Against All Odds Liquid Ink Eyeliner All Nighter - Swatch and Review

Happy Halloween!

Doing anything frightening exciting? I didn't even do any fun makeup or dress up. For me Halloween has just been like any other day. It's gloomy and rainy outside. I kinda like that actually. Anyways, here's a review and swatch for a new liner that I recently had the pleasure to use.

Packaging
  • This liner comes in a black tube with a cap color matching the color of the liner.
  • It has a short and pointy felt tip liner. Not a huge fan of the applicator but it's not a deal breaker either. It's just a little short and stiff for my personal liking.
  • .095 or 2.8 ml

Product
  • All Nighter is a deep blue ink color with a matte finish. The color is very nice. It's dark yet has some color to it. It's a great alternative to a black liner.
  • This liner is nicely pigmented and dries fairly quick. It does not smudge or budge and wears all day until you take it off. It's also waterproof. The staying power is just fantastic.

Final Thought

This liner is nearly perfect. The formula is excellent, pigmented, and long-lasting. The only thing that could use some improvement is a longer and more flexible applicator tip.

Rating: 9.5/10

Price: $13.99
Availability: UIta

I think I've seen this sold at Bed Bath and Beyond for a lot less but don't quote me on that. I have 3 of these Prestige liners and so far, I'm pretty happy.

Beauty Haul From Bed Bath and Beyond

Over the weekend I did some damage. I went to Bed Bath and Beyond to look for the new Revlon Matte Balms but with my luck they were all sold out. That didn't stop me from getting other things either, hehe.

My daughter wanted to try this L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly mascara. It has an interesting wand. It looks like an alien comb. On one side, you got shorter bristles and on another, you got longer ones. Anyone tried it or seen it?

I found that they had a little collection of LASpash nail polish and these two were right up my alley.

Can't help but get excited and wanting to be that cool kid with a new toy so guess what, I got one of the new Maybelline Color Elixir in the shade Intoxicating Spice. It is a lip gloss but the tube is shaped like a lipstick. Tricky eh.

Because I didn't find the Matte Balms I got one of the Lacquer Balm. I don't know why I went with this color again. It just seems to be the one I could see myself using more.

I tried and liked the other shade of Prestige Total Intensity Against All Odds Liquid Ink Eyeliner (oh what a mouthful! Review and swatches HERE if interested) so I decided to pick up All Nighter.

Another Prestige product I've had my eyes on but every time I go to Ulta, it's empty. Either it's that good or they just never restocked since I last checked, lol. I was curious to try the Brow Perfection so I'm glad it was fully stoked at BB&B.

And lastly, my daughter wanted this EOS hand lotion to throw in her book bag for days she needs it. It smells like melon.

Stay tuned for more hauls...hopefully soon unless I pass out.

Prestige Total Intensity Eye Liner Lively Turquoise - Swatch and Review

I spotted this new shade of Prestige Total Intensity one of my previous trip to Ulta and wanted to give it a go. I've used this line of eyeliners before and was quite impressed with the pigmentation and performance so I thought I just had to try this one as well. If you'd like to see swatches of the other shades, you can view it on HERE.

Packaging
  • Pencil that will require sharpening
  • .04 oz or 1.2 g

Product
  • Lively Turquoise is a bright shimmery turquoise blue. Very lovely and bright shade for summer or a pop of color when you need it. I felt really awkward wearing this alone cause it's so bright, blue, and looks retro. Definitely won't be wearing this on its own anymore but had to do it for the review purpose.
  • Rich, creamy, pigmented. Application was effortless as it just glides so smoothly and effortlessly on the skin without pulling or tugging. It's truly a dream to apply. That's exactly how I want all my pencil eyeliners to apply.
  • One of the problem I have with these liners is that they are so soft that sharpening them can be a bit difficult. You might have to stick it in the freezer for a few minutes before sharpening.
  • The liner wore well for the first couple hours but after that, I did notice a bit of it transferred into my crease and smudged a bit unto my lower lash line. I run into this problem often with pencil liners because of my hooded and oily lids, which is why I mostly prefer liquid liners.
  • After 4 hours, I notice some fading, especially towards the outer and inner corners of my eyes.
  • This is the only light and shimmery pencil from the line and I found the other shades lasting a bit longer on me.

Final Thought

Overall, it's a fairly good pencil and I love how easily it glides and how pigmented it is. If you have oily lids and hooded lids, it may smudge and fade a bit after a few hours.

Prestige Total Intensity Eyeshadow Bewitched - Swatch and Review

Hello Beauties,

Here's a fairly new product on the market and I picked this one up at Ulta a few weeks ago. I was tempted to try out a couple more shade from the line but I decided to just stick with this one since this color seem less common.

Packaging

  • Well-made and sturdy single eyeshadow case. Definitely one of the better drugstore eyeshadow packaging I've seen.
  • .07 oz or 2 g

  • Bewitched is more on the frosty side. It's a shimmery light brown with a very high shine light teal shimmer. So yes, you do get some duochrome action going on there. Depending on how the light hits you can see more of the teal. They had another shade that looked very similar to MAC Club.

Product
  • I was quite impressed when I first swatched it. It feels so smooth and buttery. The powder is very finely milled. The pigmentation was also pretty good for and eyeshadow that is this frosty. The texture is comparable to Urban Decay's eyeshadows.
  • It applies like butter and blends like a dream.
  • Last all day with a good primer. Some minor fading but no creasing.
Final Thought

There isn't that many shades to choose from unfortunately, however if you do find one that you like definitely pick it up because the formula is excellent and very reminiscent of some high-end brands that many of us love without having to dish out luxury prices. This Prestige eyeshadow can be found at Ulta for $8.49.

My rating: 9/10.

What you tried Prestige cosmetics? If yes, which is your favorite product?

Prestige Total Intensity Against All Odds Liquid Ink Eyeliners

I didn't go out yesterday but I did earlier and the stores looked pretty empty, lol. I guess most people are at home watching the super bowl. It's not as cold as yesterday, which was nice too.

Prestige just recently launched some new items and their eyeliners have been under my radar. I've had good experience with their eyeliners in the past so I was excited to test these out.

Packaging
  • The eyeliner comes with a felt tip applicator. I find it pretty easy to use though I personally would prefer it to be just a tad more flexible.
  • .095 oz or 2.8 ml

  • Around the Clock is a reddish purple with pink and blue micro glitters.
  • Stalker is a matte cool tone medium green.

Product
  • The formula is rather wet and thin so you would actually need a couple pass in order to look even and opaque. The pigmentation is not bad but it does need to be layered. I personally don't really mind that cause I usually do that anyways when I apply eyeliners.
  • Once it dries, it's very long-wearing and won't budge, smudge, or migrate until you take it off.
  • It doesn't claim to be waterproof but you will need a waterproof eye makeup remover to get this off because that how good it stays put.
Final Thought
If you don't mind layering and if liquid eyeliners is your cup of tea, then I think you will be happy with these due to their long-lasting quality. They are a bit pricy and can be purchased at Ulta for $9.49. Try getting them during a BOGO sale if they are of interest.

My rating: 9/10.

Ulta Haul - And The Hauling Madness Continues...

Since I haven't been at Ulta in was seems like a long time to me, I decided to make a trip there last weekend when I took my mom out shopping. So this is what came home with me...

  • NYX was on sale for BOGO 50% and since I really like their Matte lipsticks, I decided to get three new shades. From left to right: Maison, Butter, and Indie Flick.

  • NYX Retractable Lip Liner in the shade Natural.

  • Prestige Total Intensity Against All Odds Liquid Ink Eyeliner. I got it in the shade Stalker. I spotted a few new products from Prestige so I was really curious to try at least a couple of them.

  • Prestige Total Intensity Long Term Relationship Fierce Color Eyeshadow in the shade Bewitched

And of course, one of the main reason I go to Ulta is to check out the nail polishes, lol.

  • Piggy Polish Three Cheers and a Tiger. I don't think I've ever tried this brand but this one looked quite interesting.

  • Orly Bubbly Bombshell. I've seen this at Sally Beauty but didn't pick it up and now that I saw it at Ulta, I feel like I should own it.

  • Nicole by OPI A Gold Winter's Night. As you can see my glitter obsession continues and this looks quite unique and I like the mix of colors so I had to pick this up.

  • OPI The World Is Not Enough...I guess this was the only polish from their new collection that I felt like I needed. I think the color in the bottle is misleading but it was quite interesting nonetheless.

  • Khroma Beauty Khloe's Kardazzle ($12.99). I'm very excited to give this palette a try. There's a combination of matte and shimmers, I find that really awesome. The colors are very natural and earthtone, which is great for everyday wear. I also really love the fact that two blushes and a highlight was included. The palette is compact and convenient for traveling also. I will do a review on this palette after I've tried it for a few days.

So that sums up my haul from this past weekend. With Black Friday and Cyber Monday coming up, I really don't know what else I am going to get but hopefully, I will not go overboard.

What are you planning to get on Black Friday/Cyber Monday?

My Favorite Pencil Eyeliners Under $10 - Prestige Total Intensity

This is probably one of the brands I don't hear too many people talk about. You can find Prestige Cosmetics in Ulta stores. I'm not sure where else you can also purchase them. These Prestige Total Intensity eyeliners retail for actually less than $6.00 and are comparable to high-end eyeliners in quality. I personally find them better than the overrated Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliners, which wears off quite quickly on me. These pencil eyeliners are so smooth, creamy, and pigmented, you won't have to worry about them tugging the delicate skin around your eyes. A little bit of product seems to travel from my upper eyelids to my lower eyelids within a couple hours of application. I think this might be because some product gets on my eyelashes during application and as I blink, falls to my lower lid. Other than that minor problem, it's quite long-lasting and I find it to last longer on the waterline than the average pencil eyeliner.
The shades are on the darker side. You will still see some color but they will appear darker on your eyes compared to the pictures. Unfortunately, there isn't that many colors to choose from but overall this product performs well and is so affordable you can't go wrong.

From left to right: Fierce Blue, Daring Green, Fearless Teal, and Powerful Purple.
