So while I was away, I did buy makeup here and there. I was intrigued by the LA Splash liquid lipsticks so I picked up a few shades. There was many other shades that appealed to me but decided to just pick these colors to see how I liked them. I love and hate these, lol. Will tell you more on my review.
From left to right:
- Smitten Lip Tint Mousse Nymp-Adora
- Lip Couture Liquid Lipstick Venom
- Lip Couture Liquid Lipstick Vampire
- Lip Couture Liquid Lipstick OG Goulish
- Lip Couture Liquid Lipstick Goulish
At TJ Maxx, sometimes I just pick up random stuff. That handwash smells so good.
Measurable Difference Desert Nights
I thought the colors looked pretty and the palette was pretty cheap so just wanted to try it out. The swatches were done without primer. They have a fairly decent pigmentation. I think it was around $3.00, which is not bad. Then again not unique colors.
Max Studio Gunmetal eyeshadow Star Dust
I was curious about this cream eyeshadow by Max Studio. The shade is called Star Dust but looks like a shimmery kahki green with a golden sheen to me. It has a good pigmentation. I haven't tried to see how it performs on the lid yet.
This Maybelline Master Duo liner in Navy Gleam was also on sale for a couple bucks at TJ Maxx but the formula is pretty watery. I would say save your money and skip it.
Style Essentials Nude Eyes
I spotted this really pretty palette at TJ Maxx and those colors were calling out to me. The formula is pretty soft and powdery. They feel like pressed pigments. They swatch really well and have good pigmentation. The set comes with a lip crayon for less than $5.00. It's a steal. If you find it, it's worth a try.
Swatches with no primer
The lip crayon that came with the set has a pretty shimmery bronzy color but the formula was a bit off and had a waxy smell to it.
Style Essentials Up in Smoke
Also picked up this darker smokier palette from TJ. The pigmentation and formula is similar to the other palette. These definitely need primer to last on lids but they feel smooth and blend easily.
The lip crayon that came with the eyeshadow is a bright pink. The formula isn't as creamy as I would like it to be. This one didn't have any scent.
I spotted a few of these Milani rose blushes at Wal-Mart and just had to try one. I got the shade Romantic Rose, which is a matte mauve rose color. It has really good pigmentation and nice texture. So pretty! I love the packaging!
Along with the blush, I picked up Milani Brilliant Shine Lipgloss in the shade Luminous. It's a pretty sheer rose gold shimmer gloss with a doe foot applicator. I really regret picking this one up. The formula felt so uncomfortable and tacky on the lips.
I think I might have picked up this Revlon Photoready kajal matte eye pencil matte marine at Walgreens. Hmm...I guess I will give you more detail on a review. The color is beautiful.
Another Revlon Product I got is their new Colorstay Skinny liquid liner. I got the Black Out shade. It's pretty dark and matte.
These new Wet n Wild Velvet Matte lip colors had an appealing packaging so I decided to try these two shades. I've worn them a few times. Reviews will be coming up.
Another product from Wet n Wild I got is this huge highlighter. I would've preferred a more compact packaging. I got the shade Rose Champagne Glow. It's super pretty. The powder is kinda hard and pigmentation is buildable.
I got these NYX Micro brow pencils during a BOGO sale at Ulta. I got the shade Brunette and Espresso. To be honest it was hard to tell the difference in those two colors. After looking long and hard, lol, I've determined that Brunette is just a pinch redder than Espresso.
I got the NYX Conceal Correct Contour palette in Light. The formula is a bit thick and you do need to warm it up with your finder. Pigmentation good. Will give you the rest of my thought in a review.
Every time there is a sale on the L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte foundation, I find the display almost empty and only the ones that have been swatched remains. I stood there for a little while debating on which color to pick. It's so hard to tell from the packaging. I grabbed the shade 103 Natural Buff, which I find to be a little dark and warm on my skin tone. I guess the color range runs a bit dark so pick one shade lighter than you think you need.
I picked up these two brushes from Icing. They are always on BOGO sale. They are very affordable and the quality feels pretty good to me.
The expert buffer powder brush is dense and soft. Great for dusting and buffing powders.
I hauled a few items from ELF. I was particularly interested in the Blending Brush. Sephora has one just like it. The HD Concealer and Brow Pencils were also under my radar so I got them on a second haul.
Here I have swatches of the ELF HD Lifting Concealer. The light was too dark for me but the fair match me perfectly.
While I was Target, I spotted this Sonia Kashuk kabuki brush and thought it was too cute so down in my cart it went! I particularly prefer long handles on brushes. I like how this one can stand up on its own. The bristles are very soft and tapered to a round top. It's got what I would consider medium density so it's good for light powder application.
