NYC Expert Last Lipstick Swatch and Review - Forever Fuchsia, Blue Rose, and Berry Me

Hello,

I'm so excited for this review because these are new lipsticks that recently launched and I first spotted them at K-Mart so I decided to snag 3 of them.

Packaging

  • There isn't really anything special about the packaging. The color of the tube suppose to represent the color of the lipstick. Unfortunately, you can't twist the lipstick all the way down so you always have to be careful when removing and replacing the clear cap. The only thing I liked about the clear cap is that you can actually see the color of the lipstick before you buy but that doesn't always help as we all know that what you see isn't always what you get. At least you get an idea.
  • .11 oz or 3.2 g

Product

  • Forever Fuchsia is one of the brightest blue pink I own. It sort of looks neon. Depending on the shade, sometimes they can look very clownish and barbie-like on my skin tone but this one looks good on me I think.
  • Blue Rose is more like a fuchsia to me but it also has strong blue shimmer to it. Love it! It's similar to MAC Violetta but pinker.
  • Berry Me is a rose mauve with a slight brown undertone. The first two colors are loud and fun but this is the most wearable shade out of the three.
  • The formula is fairly pigmented and the color pay off is buildable. You won't get intense color from the first swipe but add 2 or 3 more layers and you can definitely reach opacity without feeling heavy. The formula hugs your lips and doesn't feel slippery but rather light and comfortable, which I like. I didn't find it very moisturizing but it wasn't drying either so as long as you're wearing a lip balm underneath, you should be fine.
  • They applied evenly and the finish is a bit of shimmery and frosty with Blue Rose and Berry Me but in spite of that, it don't think it's a deal breaker either. Forever Fuchsia had some slight shimmer in it but it appears more like a cream finish.
  • They last up to 5 hours and have some staining power but they tend to fade rather unevenly.
  • They have a sweet marshmallow scent. I didn't find it overpowering or obnoxious and the scent doesn't linger.

Final Thought

The formula has minor flaws but overall I mostly enjoyed them and they deliver buildable color payoff, are light-weight, and long-lasting. Even though the packaging isn't the best, I still find them more appealing than their previous lipstick collections. Really not too shabby for the price! Worth a try for those who look for an affordable good lipstick without breaking the bank.

NYC Ultra Last Lipwear 406 Garnet - Swatch and Review

I've had this lipstick for a long time and as you can probably tell, I've barely used it. I was going through my stash the other day to see what else I could use for my blog and realized that I never swatched or reviewed it. I have so many lip products that I don't think I will ever finish any of them since I always rotate between lip colors. For that reason, that's why I never purchase back ups.

Packaging
  • The tube has a rectangular shape and personally I do like that better because you can sit it on the table without worrying about it roll off.
  • One thing that annoys me about the packaging is that you can't twist the product all the way down so you always have to be careful when removing and putting back the cap to avoid destroying the product.
  • .11 oz or 3.4 g

Product
  • Garnet is a muted berry red with slight brown undertone and pink and gold shimmers. The finish is very frosty. A bit too much for my personal taste.
  • The formula is very creamy, easy to apply, and comfortable on the lips. It's somewhat moisturizing for the first couple of hours.
  • I get on average 3-4 hours of wear before it starts fading.
  • It's unscented and has no weird taste.

Final Thought

The color is beautiful but it think it's the frostiness that overwhelms me in this shade. I would have liked less frostiness or finer shimmers. It's pigmented, creamy, comfortable, and has an average staying power. Not bad for a pretty inexpensive lipstick.

Haul and Sneak Peak Swatches - L'Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire, Garnier Fructis Marvelous Oil, Rimmel ScandalEyes Eyeshadow Paint, NYC Expert Last, And More...

Hello lovelies,

I had to run some errands on Friday and while I was doing that I found some new products and decided to pick up some to try.

At CVS, I had a 20% off coupon and I needed some Advil, well that was just my excuse to go there, lol.
I picked up a glitter nail polish from Sally Hansen Triple Shine line. It's called Twinkled Pink ($4.79). I completely forgot to take a picture of it by itself but I will do that on a different post.

Next thing I got from CVS is this Garnier Fructis Marvelous Oil for hair ($5.99). I thought the bottle looks so cute plus I like using oil on my hair so I was curious to try it.

Also from CVS, I stumbled upon the new L'Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire glosses. Eh they were expensive, $9.49 each. I wouldn't have gotten them if I didn't have my coupon. They seem like the slightly more pigmented version of their Colour Riche Wet Shine Lip Lacquer. I got $7.00 of Extra Care Bucks back so I will probably to back to pick another shade, lol. Will do a more in-depth review and additional swatches when I get a chance :).

Orange Tempo and Plum Adagio

I picked up at CVS, Milani Up Town Mauve ($5.29), and wow I am in love with the color! Yeah I've been really into Berry and Plum colors lately.

At K-Mart, I scooped up the new Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Paint ($5.29) in the shade Pomegranate. They had some nice neutral and earth tone colors but I decided to skip cause I already have something similar. Pomegranate is a shade that I don't think I have so that's why I got it.

NYC has some new lippies and lip crayons. I spotted a full display at K-Mart as well. I had too many jumbo lip crayons so I completely skipped them and now I'm wondering if I should've picked up at least one. I was particularly interested with the Expert Last Lipsticks. Check out the gorgeous swatches of the shades I picked up. They are pigmented and creamy but you do need 2 or 3 swipes in order to get a really opaque coverage. Still not bad at all for a $1.99 lipstick!

I found these Jordana Lipsticks at K-Mart. They were on sale for 50% off so $1.24 each. I got Hollywood Red on the left and Pom-Tini on the right. Hollywood Red is a gorgeous berry pink red, however, I won't be reviewing this one because I got a bad one. When I opened it, it smelled like it had expired for a while and when I swatched it on my arm, the color was sticky and dry. So I am definitely not putting this anywhere near my mouth, lol. Pom-tini on the other hand didn't go bad. It does have  a strong and slightly sweet plasticy scent but it was smooth and quite pigmented.

Obviously, I just can't stop shopping. I'm going to run to Ulta and use my 20% off coupon on something, lol...See you guys later!

NYC Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm Big Apple Red - Swatch and Review

I've been testing this lip balm for the past few days and I'm ready to review. For the record, the lip balm was sent to me by Influenster for testing and review purposes. This does not affect or change the way I truly feel about the product.

Packaging
  • Nothing fancy about the packaging but my favorite part is definitely the apple shape at the center of the balm. It add some cuteness to it.
  • .12 oz or 35 g

  • I have the shade Big Apple Red, which is a sheer pinkish red tinted lip balm.

Product

  • Because this product is marketed as a lip balm, I was expecting it to be sheer. However, this particular shade has enough color to give my lips a subtle hint of color.
  • Contains shea butter, jojoba, and avocado oil.
  • The color lasts about 1-2 hours and the hydration last up to 3 hours, which is fairly standard for a lip balm in my opinion.
  • It applies smoothly and has that nice balmy hydrating feel. Texture is not too light or too heavy and adds just a bit of shine.
  • It has an artificial candy apple scent to it. Not the most delicious apple scent I've smelled but certainly not offensive either.

Final Thought

Overall, I enjoyed using this tinted balm. It's great for every day wear and it's moisturizing enough to keep my lips comfortable for a few hours. It gives me a natural my-lip-but-better look so I don't  have to reach for another lip product if I don't feel like it or don't have the time to. If you like tinted lip balms, I think you'll like this one.
