Mario Badescu Drying Lotion Review

So for a while my skin had been behaving and then lately, I was getting the occasional pimple that surfaced, which gave me an opportunity to test out the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion and see how it performs. My daughter on the other hand has been using this like almost every day.

What Mario Badescu says about the Drying Lotion:

The Drying Lotion is a fast acting, effective acne spot treatment. Formulated with salicylic acid, calamine and other quick-drying ingredients, this product will shrink ugly whiteheads virtually overnight while you sleep. While other acne spot treatments can irritate and dry delicate or sensitive skin, this product is safe and effective for all skin types.

HOW TO USE: Before bed, after cleansing, toning and moisturizing apply a dab of lotion directly on the whitehead using a cotton swab. Do not rub in. Let it dry and rinse off in the morning. DO NOT shake the bottle and apply only the pink sediment on the skin.

BEAUTY TIP: Great for back acne and breakouts on the chest. The Drying Lotion will also take the itch out of mosquito bites fast!

INGREDIENTS: Isopropyl Alcohol,Deionized Water (Aqua), Calamine, Camphor,Colloidal Sulfur, Salicylic Acid,Glycerine, Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, Talc

Packaging
  • It comes in either a plastic or glass container but my daughter decided to opt for the plastic container because she's such a klutz.
  • 1 oz or 29 ml

Product
  • So as you can see from the picture below, there is a liquidy part and a solid part at the bottom of the bottle and you are not supposed to shake the bottle but instead only use a cotton swab and dip it to pick up the pink stuff. Once you get some of that, you apply it to your trouble spots and let it dry and sit on your skin overnight. It may sting a little if your skin is ruptured but it's not unbearable.
  • The next day after application, I noticed a significant reduction in redness and it completely got rid of the inflammation. It looks like my pimple shrunk in half. I've noticed that when using the drying lotion, my pimple healed twice as fast and the scar is less visible than when I didn't use it.
  • It does have a strong smell to it but doesn't smell bad and the scent doesn't linger.

Final Thought

Finally! I found a product that works for me and that I can see a significant change and quick result. The only inconvenience is that you can only use it at night or when you are home because you will be left with an obvious white paste where you applied the product. I'm ok with that cause it really helped promote quicker healing and less scarring.

Ulta Haul

Yep another haul. It's funny how I don't have time to mess with makeup yet I still can't stop shopping for it.

I've been extremely busy and I can safely admit that I've not been procrastinating but burned out instead so I hope you don't mind if not giving you a lot of details but as always if or when it gets to be reviewed, I will be as thorough as can be.

Surprisingly, I didn't really find many things that I wanted or needed to buy.

If you weren't already aware of it, Jane cosmetics is now available at Ulta. As far as I'm concerned, it is probably the only store in my area that sell this line. They were on BOGO 50% off so I got a cream eyeshadow and liquid eyeliner.

I've been curious about this spot acne treatment. My daughter still has some occasional break outs so we decided to give the Mario Badescu drying lotion a try. Lucky for me, my skin has been behaving lately but who knows the next time one is going to pop out. I'll be armed and ready.

Do I really need another set of lashes...probably not but my daughter felt like she needed this. I asked why did you get this and she replied "well it says it glows in the dark so I thought that was cool"...Ohhhh ok!! I tried to see if it really works and it does but the glow is pretty weak so it doesn't seem to do much good.

Small Mario Badescu Haul

Hello there!

This is just a really tiny haul. About two weeks ago, Mario Badescu was on sale on Hautelook and though I didn't really find anything that I had to have, I did manage to pick up this facial spray.
It contains aloe, herbs, and rosewater. It can be used to set makeup, refresh, and hydrate your skin. It also has a nice rose scent to it. This is an 8 oz bottle, which is pretty big and I can see this lasting me a while.

So basically, I plan on using this as a toner. I like the fact that there is no alcohol. Last night, after exfoliating my face, I sprayed some of the product on a cotton pad and wiped my face with it. I was actually horrified when I noticed that my exfoliator didn't do such a good job at removing my face makeup since the cotton pad picked up what it failed to clean. I like how this spray helps lock in moisture for me when I applied my night cream afterward.

I really appreciated that they included a gift with my purchase so I got these travel size shampoo and conditioner for free.

Have you tried this spray? What is your favorite face toner?

Collective Haul -- Ulta, CVS, Big Lots, and Target

Today, I made a trip to Ulta to redeem my reward certificate and because Mario Badescu skincare were all 25% off. I needed to restock on skincare product so this was the perfect opportunity. Tomorrow, Boscia is on sale at Ulta for 20% off so I will have to make another trip to restock on my favorite eye cream and night cream...Yikes! Oh well, at least I don't feel bad spending money on skincare because I do take care of my skin and I usually don't let my skincare product go to waste.

Products I purchased from Ulta:
  • Mario Badescu Almond & Honey Non-Abrasive Face Scrub, $11.25 (original price $15.00). This is a pretty big jar, 4 oz. I was pleased with the pricing.
  • Mario Badescu Seaweed Night Cream, $15.00 (original price $20.00). It felt very silky when I tested it in store so I decided to give it a try.
  • Mario Badescu Collagen Moisturizer SPF 15, $16.50 (original price $22.00). I received this moisturizer as a sample a while ago and I liked that it was moisturizing, fast absorbing, and light weight.
  • OLAY Regenerist Microdermabrasion & Peel System, $27.99 minus $3.50 coupon. I've always wanted to try this ever since I read the review that Angelic Betrayal did. Feel free to check out her review HERE.
  • It's A 10 Miracle Leave In Product, Free but normally retails for $18.00. I redeemed my reward certificate for this leave in conditioner. I've used this product for about a year now. I absolutely love it.

CVS Haul:

  • Wet N Wild Fauna Collection. I was absolutely thrilled when I spotted this new limited edition collection from Wet N Wild. $4.99 for 4 products, that is a steal!
  • Wet N Wild Flora Collection, $4.99.
  • Schick Quattro refills, $12.29. What I love about these blades is that they have the little wire between them and they help a lot. I get no cuts and less irritation from them.
  • Confetti nail polishes, To Teal to Handle and Bayou Blue, $1.99 each.
  • Revlon PhotoReady Concealer, light medium. $9.99 minus $3.00 CVS coupon and $1.00 manufacturer coupon.
  • Essie No Chips Ahead. Free with CVS coupon.
With another CVS coupon, I received an additional 25% off on my total.

Big Lots Haul
  • White Cloud Premium Cleasing Pads. $1.20 each.
  • Sally Hansen Color Quick Pens, $1.50 each. Lyndsay uses these for nail stamping and I just had to get these too since they were so cheap.

Target Haul
  • Sonia Kashuk Full Volume Eyelashes with glue, $4.99. I just had to try these. They look so pretty and natural.
  • Sonia Kashuk Flat-Top Sculpting Brush, $12.99. I have not seen any brush like this one and I just have to have it. It's the perfect tool for sculpting your cheeks! It's soooo soft and dense.

Finally, I almost forgot about this last product that I picked up from Sally Beauty Supply. It's a lip and cheek stain duo by Femme Couture. I thought that the product was interesting so I grabbed it. $9.99.

Whewwwww. I think that is it for now. Hope you found something that peaked your interest.
