Revlon Photoready Eye Art Desert Dazzle and Peach Prism - Swatch and Review

I spotted these new Revlon products a few weeks ago at Walgreens. I had to do a double take at first because I thought they were nail polishes since they had some nail polishes that came in similar packaging. But as I take a closer look, the display mentioned that these are for eyes. They are a pair of cream eyeshadow and glitter eyeliner.

Packaging
  • Cream eyeshadow on one side with a doe foot applicator. Glitter liner on the other side with a brush applicator.
  • .1 oz or 3 ml

Product
  • Desert Dazzle has a shimmery green gold cream shadow, which I thought was really pretty but applied a bit patchy. It gives you a few seconds to blend but sets fairly quick. It can be layered once or twice without looking cakey. The glitter liner is just a gold glitter. I find that the wet base did take at least a minute to set.
  •  Peach Prism has a peachy pink metallic sheen. Sets fairly quickly so you want to work with it fast. The glitter liner is a bit holographic with color shifting from gold, green, and purple.
  • I find that the shadow and liner colors are nicely paired. The glitters are not over the top yet noticeable. They just had a little bit of glimmer along the lash line. You can definitely wear these during the day.
  • I usually have better luck with cream shadows in a pot but didn't find these too difficult to work with. They have good pigmentation, can be layered, and set within a few seconds. To my surprise, they lasted 8 hours without creasing and some minor fading at the end of the day.

Final Thought

These are nice and manageable though I wished the cream shadow didn't set so quick and that the liner would set a little quicker. They last almost all day without a primer and don't crease, which is awesome. I didn't have any issues with the glitters, they pretty much stayed put where I applied them.

Black Friday/Cyber Monday Haul

Hello Lovelies,

I apologize for this short hiatus. I've been a little busy around the holiday with life and work, and on top of that I've been feeling sick also so I didn't have the energy to work on my blog.

Perhaps went a little crazy over the Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals but no regrets, I'm super pleased with what I was able to get my greedy hands on and still save a few bucks.

Urban Decay Haul

I was able to get the Electric palette for $28.00 and the 24-7 liquid eyeliner in Revolver for $8.00, with free shipping, free Black Velvet travel size, and free samples.
I almost didn't get the palette but the reviews were good and with the discount too good to miss out.

Tarte Haul

Tarte had 25% off their website on Black Friday. I ordered the chic to cheek deluxe Amazonian clay blush set ($26.25). Unfortunately, it is limited edition and now sold out on their website. In order to get free shipping, lol, I decided to grab the Amazonian clay waterproof 12-hour concealer in the shade light ($16.50).

My Beauty Addiction Haul

I can't remember how much the discount was for Black Friday but I recently discovered this Indie makeup company and I really like the lip color selection and pigmentation so I ordered a few more colors: Taupuccino, Pink-A-Boo, and Another Brick In The Wall. More swatches to follow when I get a chance...
They also included a free eyeshadow sample in the shade Karma, which is a very pretty purple with a slight silvery sheen to it.

Sedona Lace Haul

The best deal they have is no doubt on Black Friday. Everything was 50% off. I ordered two of their Brow Spoolie Duo EB17. The reason I wanted this was because it's the only brow brush I was able to find that had a wider flat surface to make filling brows quicker.
I also decided to give a try with their gel liners. I got the shade: Gypsy, White Wedding, and Enchantress.

Sigma Beauty Haul

The only thing I got was the Precision 3DHD brush ($19 + free shipping) with the pink handle. I was debating to get the Kabuki 3DHD but decided to pass on it. What's interesting about this brush is the shape. It's flat and tapered on 2 sides. This will be good for applying concealer under the eye area and contouring the nose.

NYX Cosmetics Haul

NYX had 40% off deals and free shipping with order $25 and up....I couldn't pass that up either.

Missha Haul

Missha had a 40% off deal and of course I couldn't let this one slide either. The deal is still going till 12-28.

TJ Maxx Haul

Ok so this has nothing to do with Black Friday and Cyber monday but just wanted to let you know that I was able to find Deborah Lippmann nail polishes at my local TJ for $6.99 each! I couldn't believe my eyes and grabbed 4 of them. Also found this Kat Von D Foiled liquid lipstick in the shade Adora for $5.99!

That's it for my haul! And hopefully, I won't need to do another one for a while...Which deal did you take advantage of during Black Friday/Cyber Monday?

OPI Comet In The Sky and Snowglobetrotter

Well hello there! I didn't realized I've been gone this long already. I have been really busy with work and working on some decorative, semi-crafty holiday projects. I just can't go crafty all the way. I'm not that hardcore and I don't have that much patience but I probably would give it a try if it is worth the time. I am almost done with my holiday projects. Definitely will have to share some pictures with you cause I'm quite pleased with the stuff I managed to I put together. I haven't done holiday decorating in a few years so I kind of went a little crazy. Thank goodness many of the supplies I picked up where on sale but still...I probably could've gotten myself some extra Christmas presents with the amount I spent.

Anyhoo...It's getting late and I probably should get some sleep soon so with no further ado, here are the swatches of a couple new OPI polishes that just released. I got these from Ulta.

Comet in the Sky looks just mesmerizing in the bottle but the sad thing is that it doesn't look as vibrant on the nail. I had to fish a bit for the iridescent galaxy colored glitters. It also has some matte black glitters in it. Frankly, I would've preferred that they didn't include the black glitters. They just get in the way. On the swatches, I have it layered over L'Oreal Berry Nice and used a clear top coat. I probably should've used a toothpick or something to position the glitters where I want them. They look messy on the swatches.

Snowglobetrotter has different size glitters from white to iridescent blueish green glitter in a clear base, which I found a little thick but still easy to work with and picks up a pretty good amount of glitters. I have it layered over Sparitual Undercurrent and topped with a clear top coat. I probably should've layered it over a red nail polish but it still looks wintry and fun.

Orly Mirrorball

Sorry guys! Nail polish spam coming through, just cause I've been hauling them left and right lately :p

Mirrorball is the one that got away the first time I found the collection in store but luckily for me I was able to find it at another Sally Beauty store.
It is part of Orly's Holiday Collection 2014. It has fine silver holo pigments and some small silver holo glitters. There's definitely a linear holo but it's quite subtle under artificial light. I've yet to see how it looks under bright sunlight. It has a slightly thicker consistency but I didn't have any trouble working with it. It's a bit sheer so on its own you'll need 3 coats for opacity. Hmm, I really wish the rainbow was more vibrant like it appears in the bottle.

China Glaze Loco-Motive

You may still be able to find this on clearance at Sally Beauty. Loco-Motive was launched not long ago during their fall collection. It's a a sheer base with dark grey glitters and warm red glitters. Formula is a little thin but easy to work with and picks up a good amount of glitters. I didn't have any issues distributing the glitters evenly. On the swatches below, I have Loco-Motive layered on top of L'Oreal Berry Nice, which is a jelly dark plum.

Nail Sugar Sweet Tooth

So the cool thing about this nail polish is that it comes with a light. Well, that wasn't the reason why I bought it. I always make sure I have proper lighting whenever I do my nails so a nail polish that comes with a flash light isn't a necessity for me. I just liked what I saw inside the bottle.

I purchased this Nail Sugar polish from Sally Beauty supply. Sweet Tooth has a sheer shimmery bluish pink duochrome effect with small blue glitters. On the swatches, I have one coat over Zoya Marina and a clear top coat. The formula was neither thick or thin and fairly easy to work with an spread the glitters evenly.
