NYX Sale Haul

I'm very excited that when I came home from work, I found that I had 3 packages waiting for me. I purchased these NYX products from Cherryculture.com when they had NYX on sale for 40% off. I thought it was such a good deal that I didn't want to miss out since there are few items I've been wanting to try. The only thing that I am disappointed is that it took 3 freaking long weeks until I receive my package! Cherryculture used to be better than that. Now it seems that my packages always get delayed when I order from them.

I purchased 4 Retractable Eye Liner Waterproof in Bronze, Silky Cashmere, Aqua Green, and Gypsy Blue. They are $4.50 each but with the sale I paid $2.70 each.

Cream Blush: Tickled, Natural, and Boho Chic. Regular price is $6.50. I paid $3.90 each.

I am so excited to get my hands on these new NYX Advance Salon Formula Nail Polish. I hope the formula is a lot better than their other polishes. Notice how the packaging is reminiscent of Deborah Lippmann's polishes? I purchased 4 creme and 4 glitter polishes. They are $4.00 a bottle but I paid $2.40.

I am just overwhelmed with all the products that I have been hauling. I will try to post swatches and reviews as soon as I get a chance.

Have you taken advance of the NYX sale?

Essie Luxeffects Swatches

Imagine how thrilled I was when I came across these nail polishes at Walgreens. I believe there are 2 more polishes to this collection but I only picked these two...Ughhh yes I am resisting the temptation but I do feel kinda bad for not getting the rest. Oh well, gonna have to suck it up. I have hauled a ridiculous amount of polishes this month already and yes there is more to come. So expect more nail polish posts.

As Gold as It Gets is a sheer polish with little gold flakes.

Shine of the Times is a sheer topcoat with irridescent green and orange flakes. Excuse my camera for not doing this polish justice.

First thing that came to mind when I saw Shine of the Times is that it looked very similar to Nubar 2010.

However, there is a noticeable difference between the two. Shine of the Times has 3 times the amount of flakies than Nubar 2010. Shine of the Times also feels slightly thicker, whereas Nubar 2010 is a bit watery. On the left, I swatched Shine of the Times (1 coat) over OPI Ski Teal We Drop. On the right, I have one coat of Nubar 2010. See the difference in the amount of flakies?

On this swatch, I added another coat of Nubar 2010 and it still doesn't come close to one coat of Shine of the Times.

On this swatch I have 1 coat of Shine of the Times on the left, 3 coats of Nubar 2010 in the middle, and one coat of As Gold As It Gets.

I am very happy with these polishes. They are great top coats and can make any nail color stand out even more.

Weekend Haul and Swatches - Estee Lauder, MAC, NYX, Essie, And More

I have been very bad this weekend. This haul does not even include what I've purchased online. So be sure to expect some amazing haulage in the next couple weeks when I receive my goodies.
After seeing Stephanie H haul and rave about the Dr. Bonner's Magic Soap, I had to get my hands on it too. I purchased this huge 32 oz bottle for $17.49 at Walgreens. I have used it a couple times already and so far I can say that I think this soap is amazing! I will do a review after I get to try it some more.
While I was browsing the beauty isle at Walgreens, I came across Essie's new collection and picked up two Luxeffects nail polish.

As Gold As It Gets on the left and Shine of the Time on the right. I will post swatches of these two nail polishes on a separate post so stay tuned if you are interested.

I found this set of Burt's Bees products at Big Lots. I was mainly interested in the cuticle cream since my cuticles and hands tend to get pretty dry during the winter. I'm also curious about the lip balm and the rest I am not sure what it is for, lol.

My sister's good friend Marie Lisa mailed her some goodies and to my surprise she included a little something for me too. That was super sweet and thoughtful of her to do so. I was shocked but excited to receive a random gift.

So when I opened my surprise package, I found three NYX nail polishes.

Fame is a small purple glitter polish in a clear base

Aqua Glitter is a mix of small blue and green glitter in a jelly light blue base.

Buzz Worthy is a fine glitter bronze polish in a jelly nude base.

As you can see from the swatch, these polishes are pretty sheer and would work best as top coat. I did 2 coats of each.

Here is how they look with a colored nail polish underneath.

My sister and I sent my mother to La Crosse yesterday and on our way back, we stopped by the CCO in Johnson Creek. It looked pretty nice and had stuff the other CCO we normally go to don't have.

From the CCO, I purchased more Estee Lauder Double Wear cream shadow in Pink Amethyst and Lilac Petals, MAC paint pot Coral Crepe, and MAC blushcreme Ladyblush. To my disappointment, Coral Crepe seemed to be a bit dry. If you look around the edge you can see that the product has slightly separated from the edge of the jar. It is still creamy but I did notice that the product isn't as creamy as it could have been. The swatch for Ladyblush is heavy but when blended out it gives a very natural flush to the cheeks.

I spotted these two items at Claire's. They were BOGO 50% so I got some colorful rhinestones and a glittery holographic top coat, which is great for adding more oomph to any nail polish.

At last, I got this huge bottle of vitamins from Vitamin World for $25.00. That's like 6 months worth of product, which is not bad for the price. I'm trying to take these supplements since I know I don't get all the necessary vitamins from foods that I eat and these vitamins seems to have all the stuff that I want.

So that is it for this post. Stay tune for more.

Kat Von D Foiled Love Lipsticks Review and Swatch

Hello Lovelies,

I hope everyone enjoyed Thanksgiving today with their family and loved ones. I did not have turkey today but our Thanksgiving meal is scheduled for Saturday, lol. I'll try to make and effort to take pix of our Thanksgiving feast before tearing it up.

I purchased these Kat Von D lipsticks during the Sephora's VIB sale and they retail for $18.00 each but I got them for 20% off. I was intrigued by these lipsticks because they are supposed to have a metallic finish, thus why they are called "foiled".

Packaging
  • Absolutely beautiful! Metallic silver case with roses etched on it.
  • Net weight is .11 oz or 3 g
Colors
  • There is 6 colors to choose from but I only picked two, Forever & Never and F.T.W.

  • Forever & Never is a nude with a hint of pink and coral. I am so in love with this color! It's very weareable. The finish is frosty/metallic. I know some people hate frosty finishes but as far as I am concerned I don't mind it as long as it doesn't look like my lips have high beams, lol.

  • F.T.W. is a metallic raspberry color. The frostiness in this color is less apparent than Forever & Never. I actually wish it was a little more metallic. You can notice it when you take a close look but from afar, you can barely tell.

Product
  • One thing you might not like about this product is that the formula feels a bit dry. Therefore, during application, it does tug on your skin. I wish it was a tad bit creamier and moisturizing.
  • I don't detect any scents.
  • The colors are very pigmented and long wearing. I get 4+ hours of wear with this lipstick! That's pretty darn good and probably in part due to the drier formula.
  • I experienced a bit of staining with F.T.W. but I suppose that is typical for darker shades.
Conclusion
  • I enjoyed these lipsticks and loved the colors that I picked. For the price, I would expect them to be a bit more moisturizing. Other than that, they do wear well and beautifully. I especially love Forever & Never. My rating would be 9/10.

Cover Girl Lip Perfection Lipstick - Divine

The other night when I was doing my lipstick swatches, I'm glad that I swatched this one last because it stained the heck out of my lips and I couldn't get it off. So I ended up going to work with the bright (in your face) bumble gum pink stain that it left behind, lol. Not cool.
The color is absolutely beautiful. I loooooove it and I don't have any color like this one in my stash. This is what I call a fuchsia/magenta hybrid, lol.
This is a satin finish and the formula applies smoothly and is very long-wearing. Cover Girl claims this product to be very moisturizing but I don't agree with it much. My lips still feel dry after a few hours.
As much as I love the color of this lipstick, I tend to avoid it because of the aftermath, lol. I really wish it wouldn't stain so bad!
