We had snow today. I have never seen snow in April for as long as I've lived in Wisconsin so this is the first. Secondly, I just learned today that one of my co-worker resigned. She called in sick last week. Then she was scheduled to be off on vacation. Then she called again when she was supposed to be back from vacation and said she had surgery while she was on vacation. She was a no show today again and when we asked HR if they heard anything, they told us she decided to quit. I didn't see that one coming. Then we realized that she had cleaned up her desk before she went AWOL on us so yeah, don't even try to make up a sob story and try to make me believe that it wasn't planned ahead. I was pretty disappointed that she didn't have the courtesy to give us a two weeks notice or even mention that she was thinking about quitting for personal reasons. So unprofessional. Now, I'm down another staff and a manager. My desk is a mess. I have no room for the extra work and I'm annoyed cause this feels so unfair and it sucks.
Anyways, on the bright side, I did my taxes and I'm waiting on a fat check. What do you do with yourself when you're overworked?
With no further ado, here's my review of the new NYX Infinite Shadow Stick I tested out.
Packaging
- This cream eyeshadow/liner comes in a jumbo pencil packaging. I wished they made these retractable or used wood. The packaging is made out of plastic and you need to use a pencil sharpener. I didn't have too much trouble sharpening it but you do need to apply a bit more force/pressure than you normally would if it was made of wood.
- .19 oz or 5.27 g
- Rose Gold is a pretty good name for this shade because it does remind me of rose gold.
- The first thing I noticed about this shadow stick is that it isn't as creamy as their jumbo eyeshadow pencils. It felt a bit dryer. It does tug a bit when I try to apply it all over my lid but not as much when I use it as a liner.
- It swatches beautifully on my arm but on the lid, it's different because the skin in the eye area is more sensitive and flexible so it doesn't go on as smoothly and as pigmented on the eye due to the drier formula.
- It last fairly well. I wore it for 10 hours and noticed a bit of fading but didn't experience any creasing even without a primer
Final Thought
I'm rather disappointed in these new Infinite Shadow Stick. They look really cool in the packaging and most of the shade they had available looked appealing. Sadly, I wished the formula was creamier and applied smoother on the lid.

I was so excited for these and bought two (one of them was Rose Gold). I thought it would be their take on the Milani ShadowEyez which made me really happy because I find the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils to be too oily for me. Sadly, these are just too dry. They kinda tug on the eyes. I can take tugging on the lips but on the eyes it's a big no-no. They wear very long, have such pretty packaging, and don't crease, but I wouldn't recommend these to anyone else whole heartedly because they're not as creamy as other products in the same price range (the Milani ones for example). So, 100% agree. x
ReplyDeleteYes if they were more like the milani shadow eyes it would have been awesome
DeleteThis looks amazing and the shade really is quite beautiful! That's too bad the application could be a lot better! Nothing's more important than a creamy and smooth application!
ReplyDeleteI don't like dealing with eye products that are dry and tug on the eye. What a shame cause the color is gorgeous.
DeleteThe snow fell here as well - I was surprised it stuck! Well at least it's not drought weather. When I have had a work situation like that - I just try to rally the troops and try not to take on ALL the extra work myself.
ReplyDeleteAs for the NYX Stick it is a super pretty color, but if it pulls on the eye hmmmm. Could you transfer it to a brush and then put it on?
It came down pretty good around lunch time but most of it melted so that's a good thing. I'm already filling in for a coworker on maternity leave. We'll get a couple people to help with a certain things but the problem is I don't have time to train someone to do the job and get it done by the end of the month. We're already half way into the month and we lost a lot of time thinking she was coming back because that was the impression she gave us initially.
ReplyDeleteYou won't have any luck with a brush. I prefer to use it as a liner.
Loved your honest review dear. Thank you sweets :-)

You're welcome :)
DeleteWhat a pretty shade--shame the formula is so dry! :(
ReplyDeleteThat sucks that your coworker was so unprofessional. I had a coworker who quite on his lunch break--no kidding, he left for lunch and then called and said he wouldn't be coming back. He had already lined up another job so you know it was preplanned...grrrr. I guess when work is that bad I try to compensate by spoiling myself when I get home--a nice glass of wine and some chocolate, a bubble bath, whatever makes you feel relaxed.
Yeah I expected better from NYX. I spent the last three days sorting out what she left out and now I'm two weeks behind so the pressure is on. I try to relax as much as I can :)
DeleteI've never been a fan of using eye pencils for shading but I was almost persuaded to try it based on the gorgeous colour until you said the formula was dry! Looks like I'll be sticking to powders for a while yet..
