Black Friday/Cyber Monday Haul

Hello Lovelies,

I apologize for this short hiatus. I've been a little busy around the holiday with life and work, and on top of that I've been feeling sick also so I didn't have the energy to work on my blog.

Perhaps went a little crazy over the Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals but no regrets, I'm super pleased with what I was able to get my greedy hands on and still save a few bucks.

Urban Decay Haul

I was able to get the Electric palette for $28.00 and the 24-7 liquid eyeliner in Revolver for $8.00, with free shipping, free Black Velvet travel size, and free samples.
I almost didn't get the palette but the reviews were good and with the discount too good to miss out.

Tarte Haul

Tarte had 25% off their website on Black Friday. I ordered the chic to cheek deluxe Amazonian clay blush set ($26.25). Unfortunately, it is limited edition and now sold out on their website. In order to get free shipping, lol, I decided to grab the Amazonian clay waterproof 12-hour concealer in the shade light ($16.50).

My Beauty Addiction Haul

I can't remember how much the discount was for Black Friday but I recently discovered this Indie makeup company and I really like the lip color selection and pigmentation so I ordered a few more colors: Taupuccino, Pink-A-Boo, and Another Brick In The Wall. More swatches to follow when I get a chance...
They also included a free eyeshadow sample in the shade Karma, which is a very pretty purple with a slight silvery sheen to it.

Sedona Lace Haul

The best deal they have is no doubt on Black Friday. Everything was 50% off. I ordered two of their Brow Spoolie Duo EB17. The reason I wanted this was because it's the only brow brush I was able to find that had a wider flat surface to make filling brows quicker.
I also decided to give a try with their gel liners. I got the shade: Gypsy, White Wedding, and Enchantress.

Sigma Beauty Haul

The only thing I got was the Precision 3DHD brush ($19 + free shipping) with the pink handle. I was debating to get the Kabuki 3DHD but decided to pass on it. What's interesting about this brush is the shape. It's flat and tapered on 2 sides. This will be good for applying concealer under the eye area and contouring the nose.

NYX Cosmetics Haul

NYX had 40% off deals and free shipping with order $25 and up....I couldn't pass that up either.

Missha Haul

Missha had a 40% off deal and of course I couldn't let this one slide either. The deal is still going till 12-28.

TJ Maxx Haul

Ok so this has nothing to do with Black Friday and Cyber monday but just wanted to let you know that I was able to find Deborah Lippmann nail polishes at my local TJ for $6.99 each! I couldn't believe my eyes and grabbed 4 of them. Also found this Kat Von D Foiled liquid lipstick in the shade Adora for $5.99!

That's it for my haul! And hopefully, I won't need to do another one for a while...Which deal did you take advantage of during Black Friday/Cyber Monday?

Missha Mask Review - MISA Cho Bo Yang Cheong An Hanji Mask & Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Gel Mask

I am sad that my long weekend is going to be over soon. I was off Friday and today but I went to work today because we were having a pot luck and give exchange. I showed up for that and then visited my sister. I didn't do much these past few days aside from taking some pictures for my blog and working on some posts. It felt nice to get some relaxation but as soon as I get back to work, it's stress again.

Anyways, what I love about using these sheet masks is like getting a mini spa at home. Using them at night, help me soothe and relax as well as making my skin feel good and happy.

MISA Cho Bo Yang Cheong An Hanji Mask, $2.99.

What Missha says about this sheet mask

The essence contains high quality oriental herbal ingredients, such as Wild Ginseng, Cordyceps Militaris, and Deer Antlers, to treat aging skin. It nourishes, revitalizes, brightens, firms, and improves skin tone with continued use.

The ingredient list also includes Mulberry and Pure Gold. I wonder how they put pure gold in this?

Prior to using the masks, make sure your face has been cleansed. The material of the mask feels like a thick cotton cloth with cut out for your eyes, nose, and mouth. On Missha's website, they state that it is made of Hanji, a thick Korean paper. I apologize for the lack of picture. I was in such hurry to use it that I forgot about it.

After I applied it to my face, I left it on for 30 minutes. The direction doesn't tell you to rinse your face but I always do after I use these masks because they leave a slimy feeling behind and it bothers me.

I tried this mask a week ago and it felt very different from the other sheet masks I've experienced with. It has a hot, cool, and tingling sensation. It's pretty strong and I don't have sensitive skin but dang I felt it work and the whole time I had it on my face it almost felt like my skin was burning. Thankfully, it didn't.
The mask had an herbal earthy smell to it. My skin felt very soft and hydrated afterward but the hot and cool feeling isn't something I enjoyed on my face. It's like rubbing Icy Hot balm on your face. Oh and when I read that it contains deer Antlers, I was like wth this is the first time I heard of it being used in beauty product.

Overall, I know I won't repurchase this mask. Although it made my skin feel soft and smooth afterward, I didn't enjoy the tingly hot and cold sensation on my face. I prefer a mask that feels more soothing.

Rating: 8/10.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Gel Mask, $6.00, is definitely different from the other sheet masks I've tried so I thought ok, I better take a picture of this one. This mask comes in two separate piece. One for the top portion of your face and one for the bottom. It also was packaged between two plastic piece that needed to be peeled off before use.  The material is different, I don't know what it is but it feels like a piece of thin and flexible silicone and it is textured! It's not listed on the instruction but I am assuming the textured side is the side you want touching your face. The smooth surface should be facing outward I think because that's what makes sense to me. The mask contains 5% snail slime extract, which is supposed to be healing, soothing, and moisturizing.
List of ingredients:
Water, Glycerin, Snail Slime Extract, Ceratonia Siliqua Gum, Carrageenan, Hydrolyzed Baobab Tree Extract, Lactobacillus Ferment, Scutellaria Baicalensis Extract, Green Tea Extract, Artemisia Princeps Leaf Extract, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Citrus Junos Fruit Extract, Castor Seed Oil, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol , PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate , Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Methyl Paraben, Centella Asiatica Extract, Chamomile Flower/Leaf Extract, Disodium EDTA, Potassium Hydroxide, Sodium Hyaluronate, Phenoxy Ethanol, Propyl Paraben, Perfume.
After cleansing my face, I applied the mask and left it on for 30 minutes.
It felt cool and refreshing. It had a subtle fresh scent to it. After I was done, I went ahead and rinse my face and followed by moisturizer. Like all the sheet masks I tried from Missha, they make my skin feel so smooth and soft after I remove it. My skin gets drier in winter and these sheet masks are great to restore moisture. Although the snail mask supposedly contains snail secretion, I didn't notice that it did anything different from the other who don't. Perhaps it is only something you notice after several uses. I must say that the material of the mask, which I am not sure what's it made of, is interesting.
Overall, I had a good experience with this mask. It is much pricier than the others so definitely not something I would use or purchase often.
Rating: 9.5/10.
Missha Holiday Sale Haul
FYI, Missha's holiday sale is still going up to December 25th and everything is 40% off!
I repurchased the Facial Black Sugar Scrub (currently on sale for $11.99) and it's one of my favorite face scrub, ever! It makes my skin feel so soft and smooth after use and I like the fact that it isn't drying but somewhat hydrating. If you're looking for a good face scrub, I would recommend this one.
And then I stoked up on sheet masks...lol
I purchased two of each Pure Source Masks. They are currently on sale for $1.19 each. These pack a punch in hydration. They feel cool and refreshing on the face. I use it once or twice a week to give my skin a boost of hydration. My face feels as soft as a baby's skin when I use them.
  • Honey - moisturizes for radiating skin with Honey Extract
  • Aloe - soothes and moisturizes with Aloe Extract
  • Olive - moisturizes and nourishes with Olive Extract
  • Pearl - brightens and vitalizes with Pearl Extract
  • Green Tea - hydrates and brightens with Green Tea Extract
Real Essential Mask set. Currently on sale for $12.56 and you get 7 masks. Even though they seem to do different things according to the packaging, I feel that the result is the same for me.
  • Ceramide – Intensive Anti-Trouble Care. Treats sensitive skin.
  • CoenzymeQ10 – Intensive Anti-Aging Care. Firms and vitalizes skin by stimulating body energy.
  • Collagen – Intensive Firming Care. Firms face line and vitalizes skin.
  • Deep Sea Water – Intensive Moisturizing Care. Vital minerals hydrate the skin.
  • Hyaluronic Acid – Intensive Hydrating Care. Hydration system provides moisture to skin.
  • Multi Vita – Intensive Brightening Care. Vitamin C helps brighten skin.
  • Platinum – Intensive Clarifying Care. Detoxes and protects for cleaner and brighter skin.
I was curious to see how these two masks differ or perform as compared to the others that I've been using so I picked up one of each to try.
MISA Cho Bo Yang Cheong An Hanji Mask (on the left) is on sale for $1.79.
On the right, I have the Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Gel Mask, on sale for $3.60.
I will do a review on these two masks on a different post.
Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Sleeping Mask Review
I guess I spoke too soon yesterday because I just broke my daily view record again and now I feel kinda stupid even talking about it. I've been teaching my son how to drive these past few weeks but only have been able to show him on the weekend for like an hour or two. He started practicing at a park but today, we actually drove around our neighborhood with moderate traffic. It was a nice change from moving around at the park and I'm pleased to see that his driving is getting better and that he is starting to gain more confidence behind the wheel.
So this is the first "Sleeping Mask" I have ever used and don't laugh but I had no idea what a sleeping mask was and I actually had to read the direction on how to use it.
Missha claims that this sleeping mask contains 15% snail slime extract and botanical stem cells to rejuvenate, moisturize, and promote healthy skin.
Packaging
  • the packaging has a luxury appeal to it even though it is just a squeeze tube.
  •  110 ml, approximately 3.72 oz, which is a pretty generous amount for skincare.
Product
  • The direction says to apply before sleeping by avoiding eyes and mouth area and then rinse with water in the morning.
  • The mask is a little thick when you squeeze it out but it feels creamy and melt and absorb very quickly once you apply it on the skin. Unlike the day moisturizer, the sleeping mask feels more like a cream but has the same botanical fresh scent. Once it dries, it actually has a mattifying effect.
  • I have normal/combination oily skin. I didn't feel like the mask provided moisture but seem to work more like a humectant. Therefore, all it seems to do is retain that moisture that you have on your face. It doesn't soften or moisturize the skin. At least that isn't how my skin felt when I used it as directed. It didn't make my skin feel supple like a typical night cream would.
Final Thought
I'm not sure how other sleeping masks compare but this one did not really feel moisturizing and I did not notice any change from using it. If you have dry skin, you probably should use a night cream first before applying the sleeping mask. Overall, it's one of those products that aren't bad but I feel like I don't need cause it didn't really do anything for me.
Missha Secret Recipe Brightening Rice Mask Review
I was tired last night and my daughter made some sleepy tea and boy that stuff knocked me out. I slept like a baby.
I have been using the Missha Secret Recipe Rice Mask for over a month now and I'm really to tell you what I think of it.
Packaging
  • Plastic squeeze tube, simple and practical.
  • 120 ml, approximately 4 oz
Product
  • This mask claims to brighten and improve complexion. It contains vitamin b, Rice Water Extract, Water, Peony Extract, Lily Magnolia Extract, Madonna Lily Flower Extract, Lily of the Valley Extract, Methyl Paraben, Disodium EDTA, Propyl Paraben, Butylene Glycol, Polyisobutene, Glycerin, Triethanolamine, Cyclomethicone, Cetearyl Alcohol, Titanium Dioxide, Propylene Glycol.
  • The first thing that I noticed about this mask is the lovely rice scent. Hmmm smells good!
  • It has the thickness and consistency of say toothpaste and it's very white and creamy. Apply a generous amount over freshly washed face, avoiding eyes and lips. Wait 10-15 minutes and then rinse with warm water.
  • It doesn't make the skin feel tight as it dries. I think the best way to remove the mask is to use a wash cloth to wipe it off. You can just rinse if you want but that would take just a bit longer because it likes to cling on to the skin.
  • I think this mask would be suitable for all skin type. It is gentle and soothing. Wasn't drying yet wasn't very moisturizing either. It made my skin feel nice afterward but I didn't notice any dramatic effect.
  • I've used it once or twice a week and don't feel like it brightened my skin at all.
Final Thought
Sadly, it doesn't brighten skin but overall, it's a good mask, it's gentle, and it smells nice. I didn't really find anything about it that impressed me or made me feel like I need it but I did like it.
Rating: 8/10.
Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Essential Moisturizer - Review
Another product, I acquired during Missha's semi-annual sale is the Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Essential Moisturizer. For the record, Missha does have frequent sales but I think their semi-annual sale is the best because pretty much the whole entire store is on sale. So if Missha is on your next list to try, be sure to subscribe with your email so that you get notification for the sales. They usually have specials for new customers.
What Missha says about this moisturizer
  • contains 40% snail slime extract, the key ingredient.
  • nail slime contains healing and regenerating properties such as collagen, glycolic acids, and antibiotics which are beneficial for the skin
Now, I'm not sure how everyone feels about the fact that this moisturizer contains snail secretion, which means that this isn't vegan. I have no idea of how it is processed, produced, or if it is cruelty free. I understand some of you are sensitive about these type of products and may strongly object. I've googled for some answers and didn't really find specific or detail information on how the slime is extracted. It is said that the snails are exposed to "safe mechanical stress" and that the slime is filtered several times to ensure purity before it is sent to cosmetic companies. The use of snail slime goes back centuries and have been used for treating wounds.
I guess for me, I picked this moisturizer because I needed one and I was curious to find out if the slime does anything good for my skin.
Packaging
  • Packaging exceeds my expectation. This bottle is huge and is going to last me a very long time! I'm impressed. I think the bottle is made of glass. It's quite heavy so be careful not to drop it or I think it will be disaster. The cap is either plastic or acrylic. And as you can see, it comes with a convenient pump.
  • 130 ml, approximately 4.40 oz
Product
  • This moisturizer is more of a gel-like type. It has a milky but transparent color and it does look a bit like snail slime. Now if you can get past the slimy feel, it absorbs quickly without leaving a slippery or uncomfortable feeling behind.
  • It has a soft, fresh, and herbal scent to it. Scent goes away fairly quickly.
  • A little goes a long way. Two drops is enough for the entire face. It's not too thick or thin but feels light-weight. I wasn't kidding when I said this is going to last me forever. I might have to find other uses for it, like combine it with my hand cream.
  • This moisturizer did a very good job at keeping my skin hydrated. I also noticed that I am less oily when I use it. I feel that it is suitable for all skin type. I have normal/combination oily skin
Final Thought
This moisturizer gave me just the right amount of moisture and tough it doesn't claim to control oil. I noticed less shine on my forehead when I use it. It feels a bit slimy at first but it absorbs quickly and the scent isn't too overpowering, at least not for me. Overall, I do like it as a moisturizer. Do try it if you can get past the thought of spreading snail mucus on your face.
Missha Dong Baek Gold Rinse Review
I purchased the Missha Dong Baek Gold Rinse from Missha during their semi-annual sale. Basically, this is a hair conditioner. I've used it several times since I got it and I think I'm ready to tell you what I think of it.
What Missha says about this product
  • Contains Argan oil to protect and prevent hair damage
  • Contains pure nature Camellia oil and Jojoba oil to provide glossy shine
  • Provide moisture and protection for damaged hair
Packaging
  • It comes in a plastic box, which is nice but probably not necessary and not environmental friendly.
  • Quite happy with the packaging. It's not super fancy but looks nice and includes a pump. That's always a plus for me.
  • 500 ml, approximately 16.9 oz
Product
  • First, the scent. This conditioner has a lovely soft and floral fragrance that I enjoy. It's not too strong so it doesn't really linger too long on your hair. I would prefer a scent that lingers.
  • Due to the fact that we don't all have the same type of hair, results and opinions may vary between individuals. I have thin/medium hair. Lots of split ends and the tip of my hairs are always dry. In additional to that, I have a mild case of frizzy hair, which causes me to reach for the straightener every day and I know it's bad for my hair but I can't help myself. I blow dry my hair occasionally but using a low heat setting. Other than the regular use of heat, I haven't colored my hair in years.
  • The texture is creamy, not too thick or thin.
  • For me, I felt like this conditioner wasn't moisturizing enough. I didn't notice any significant change or improvement. I use it every other day because I wash my hair every other day. My hair looks the same and has not improved since I've used it.
  • After shampooing, I apply the conditioner, leave it on my hair for about 5 minutes, wash my body, and then rinse everything out. I don't get much of that slippery feeling that usually prefer in my hair conditioner. I do notice that it smooth my hair a bit but not enough.
Final Thought
This will not provide intense moisture or improve the condition of your hair. It will help making your hair feeling soft and manageable but that's about it. If you have dry or damaged hair, you won't feel like this conditioner does enough. I liked it but don't love it. My hair needs something more smoothing and conditioning. If you have normal hair or healthy hair, you might enjoy this conditioner more.
Missha Semi Annual Sale Haul
Hi everyone,
I received my Missha order today so wanted to share with you what I ordered. The sale is still going until July 7th, with discounts up to 75% and almost everything is on sale, the deals are good, so don't miss out!
Shipping is free if your total is $40 or more.
I bought the full size Misa Cho Bo Yang BB cream in the shade No.2 for $23.00, originally $45.99. I previously had the travel size to try and liked it. For review and swatches, you can visit the post HERE.
I desperately needed a face moisturizer and the Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail moisturizer raised some interests so I bought it. It originally sells for $33.99 but on sale for $20.39. The packaging is very fancy looking and heavy.
Along with it, I decided to try out the Sleeping Mask. It was originally $22.99 but on sale for $13.79.
The Secret Recipe Brigthening mask was on sale for $4.80. Not bad and seem like a nice mask to try.
Can't never have too much hair conditioners so I went ahead and got the Dong Baek Gold Rinse, currently on sale for $10.19. I just had to smell it and WOW it smells floral and divine! Plus, I love that it comes with a pump.
As part of their special sale, if you spend over $60 you get 5 Pure Source sheet mask and 5 Real Essential sheet masks for FREE! These can also be purchased on their own.
They also threw in a little sample of what I believe to be the MISA Cho Bo Yang Toner. It was lost in the Styrofoam peanuts and I almost tossed it out in the garbage cause I didn't see it.
Did you already take advantage of the sale or will you be ordering?
Missha Super Aqua Refreshing Cleansing Foam Review
Hello everyone,
I've had this cleanser for quite some time now and I'm ready to give you my review.
Packaging
  • Large squeeze tube. I was surprised at how huge and how much product I was getting here. I'm not used to getting this much product in a cleanser. This is like a jumbo size.
  • 200 ml or 6.76 oz
Product
  • The cleanser has a pleasant fresh scent. Foams when in contact with water, without getting too bubbly and leaving a squeaky clean feel.
  • I didn't find it drying but didn't find it conditioning either. I have normal/oily skin.
  • When used alone, it did remove most of my makeup but still leaving some traces behind. When I used a makeup wipe first and then wash off my face with the cleanser, I got much better result.
  • How to use: wet your face, squirt a nickel size amount of cleanser to your hand and rub it on your face avoiding eye area for a couple minutes. Rinse off and pat dry skin.
Final Thought
It's a decent cleanser I suppose but definitely not one to use alone if you are wearing makeup. Either use a makeup wipe first before the cleanser or follow up with a toner afterward to pick up any residue the cleanser didn't get off. Might be a bit drying for people with dry skin.
Missha Review - Green Tea Lip & Eye Makeup Remover and The Style Lip & Eye Makeup Remover
Hi everyone,
Today, I'll be reviewing these two Missha Makeup Remover that I bought and tried. I am typically drawn to any makeup remover that has water and oil. They say water doesn't mix with oil but they sure make good makeup removers. I often wear long-wear and waterproof makeup and I've had good luck with these types of makeup removers.
Missha Green Tea Lip & Eye Makeup Remover
Packaging
  • It's quite cute because it's heart-shaped from top to bottom.
  • 90 ml, which is approximately 3 oz. It's rather small for me because I can go through that pretty quickly.
Product
  • It's actually a really good makeup remover. It's gentle on the eyes, not itching or burning, and is quite effective at removing waterproof makeup even if it doesn't claim to be for waterproof makeup.
  • It does feel slightly oily on the skin after you've used it but I'm ok with that since I end up washing my face afterward anyways.
  • It has a subtle but pleasant fresh scent.
  • It's almost as good as Lancome Bi-Facils.
  • It contains green tea extract and has no alcohol.
Final Thought
This little bottle sells for $7.99 on Missha's website but you can get it for less during a sale. It definitely works great  for both removing eyes and lip makeup without irritation. My only complaint is that I wished the bottle was bigger for that price.
Rating: 9.5/10
For more info on where to purchase and ingredient list, follow this link.
The Style Lip & Eye Makeup Remover
Packaging
  • The packaging is made of plastic. It's simple, round, and practical.
  • 100 ml or 3.38 oz
Product
  • While it did a fairly decent job at removing regular and waterproof makeup, it doesn't work as quickly as the Green Tea Remover.
  • It's gentle, alcohol-free, and non-irritating
  • Subtle, non-offensive scent.
Final Thought
You can purchased this remover for $5.99 on Missha's website but can get it for cheaper during sales and promotions. It does a good job and is gentle on the eyes but just take a bit longer to dissolve the makeup. Since I've had better, I probably won't repurchase.
Rating: 9/10.
Haul - Missha, Maybelline, Rimmel, Sinful Colors, and OPI
Hello Beauties,
Just wanted to to show you my latest acquisition. Afterward, I need to get on a roll with some reviews and swatches. I was up till 5 am, due to my late afternoon nap on Saturday, lol. So with that said, I did not go to work, since that was optional.
If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook, you probably saw when I posted about the Missha sale. I can't even remember now but I think they were either 30% or 40% off. My sister placed an order because she wanted some stuff and I asked her to pick up a couple things for me since I didn't want to go crazy and order things I don't really need just to get the free shipping, lol.
So what I got is the Green Tea Makeup Remover and the Super Aqua Refreshing Cleansing Foam. These are products I usually use up quickly, however since I still have a lot of cleansers to go through and this Missha cleanser is so huge. I think I'll be good for a while.
I saw a new display of Sinful Colors at Walgreens and these glittery polishes were reminiscent of the China Glaze and Wet N Wild collections that came out last year. I only decided to pick up In the Spotlight. I couldn't remember if I had something like this already.
Also from Walgreens, I picked up two Maybelline Color Whispers in the shade Berry Ready and A Plum Prospect because they were on BOGO sale. I know I'm kinda late in the game but I wasn't able to spot them on sale previously, which is why I waited till I did.
And then CVS sent me a coupon, so you know I did my round to use up my coupon. I picked up a few home necessities along with more Rimmel Eyeliners and Shadow Stick, another Milani lipstick, and more Color Whispers. Both Rimmel and Maybelline were on BOGO sale.
Here's what I got:
  • Rimmel Scandal Eyes Khol Kajal pencil liner in Deep Blue.
  • Rimmel Scandal Eyes Shadow Stick in Paranoid Purple, Bulletproof Beige, and Witness White.
  • Milani Color Statement Black Cherry
  • Maybelline Color Whispers in Orange Attitude and Mocha Muse
And then, as if I needed another hole in my head, lol, I decided to stop by the nail supply store after work yesterday to so see if they had anything new and they DID! So I went a little crazy there too.
In the picture above, I picked up 4 polishes from the new Wizard of Oz collection. From left to right:
  • Which is Witch?
  • When Monkeys Fly!
  • Lights of Emerald City
  • What Wizardry Is This? This one is a liquid sand finish, which I'm really excited about.
Clockwise from the top left:
  • OPI DS Magic, I almost bought this at Ulta last time I was there. I'm glad I didn't.
  • OPI DS Opulence
  • OPI Polka.com
  • OPI Sprung
The Designer Series polishes were $7.00 (retail for $12) and the other OPI were $5 (retail for $8). I'm so glad I didn't pay retail for these. If I did, that would've been $72.00! I saved $28.00.
The odd ball of the nail polishes I got at the nail supply store was this Savina Nail Color (only $2.50) in the shade Black Pearl. Look at that duochrome! I can't wait to swatch all these polishes! Today would be a good day. I hope I have enough cotton balls to massacre, lol.
Which one of these products are you most looking forward to see swatches and review?
