Missha Mask Review - MISA Cho Bo Yang Cheong An Hanji Mask & Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Gel Mask

I am sad that my long weekend is going to be over soon. I was off Friday and today but I went to work today because we were having a pot luck and give exchange. I showed up for that and then visited my sister. I didn't do much these past few days aside from taking some pictures for my blog and working on some posts. It felt nice to get some relaxation but as soon as I get back to work, it's stress again.

Anyways, what I love about using these sheet masks is like getting a mini spa at home. Using them at night, help me soothe and relax as well as making my skin feel good and happy.

MISA Cho Bo Yang Cheong An Hanji Mask, $2.99.

What Missha says about this sheet mask

The essence contains high quality oriental herbal ingredients, such as Wild Ginseng, Cordyceps Militaris, and Deer Antlers, to treat aging skin. It nourishes, revitalizes, brightens, firms, and improves skin tone with continued use.

The ingredient list also includes Mulberry and Pure Gold. I wonder how they put pure gold in this?

Prior to using the masks, make sure your face has been cleansed. The material of the mask feels like a thick cotton cloth with cut out for your eyes, nose, and mouth. On Missha's website, they state that it is made of Hanji, a thick Korean paper. I apologize for the lack of picture. I was in such hurry to use it that I forgot about it.

After I applied it to my face, I left it on for 30 minutes. The direction doesn't tell you to rinse your face but I always do after I use these masks because they leave a slimy feeling behind and it bothers me.

I tried this mask a week ago and it felt very different from the other sheet masks I've experienced with. It has a hot, cool, and tingling sensation. It's pretty strong and I don't have sensitive skin but dang I felt it work and the whole time I had it on my face it almost felt like my skin was burning. Thankfully, it didn't.
The mask had an herbal earthy smell to it. My skin felt very soft and hydrated afterward but the hot and cool feeling isn't something I enjoyed on my face. It's like rubbing Icy Hot balm on your face. Oh and when I read that it contains deer Antlers, I was like wth this is the first time I heard of it being used in beauty product.

Overall, I know I won't repurchase this mask. Although it made my skin feel soft and smooth afterward, I didn't enjoy the tingly hot and cold sensation on my face. I prefer a mask that feels more soothing.

The Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Gel Mask, $6.00, is definitely different from the other sheet masks I've tried so I thought ok, I better take a picture of this one. This mask comes in two separate piece. One for the top portion of your face and one for the bottom. It also was packaged between two plastic piece that needed to be peeled off before use.  The material is different, I don't know what it is but it feels like a piece of thin and flexible silicone and it is textured! It's not listed on the instruction but I am assuming the textured side is the side you want touching your face. The smooth surface should be facing outward I think because that's what makes sense to me. The mask contains 5% snail slime extract, which is supposed to be healing, soothing, and moisturizing.

List of ingredients:
Water, Glycerin, Snail Slime Extract, Ceratonia Siliqua Gum, Carrageenan, Hydrolyzed Baobab Tree Extract, Lactobacillus Ferment, Scutellaria Baicalensis Extract, Green Tea Extract, Artemisia Princeps Leaf Extract, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Citrus Junos Fruit Extract, Castor Seed Oil, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol , PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate , Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Methyl Paraben, Centella Asiatica Extract, Chamomile Flower/Leaf Extract, Disodium EDTA, Potassium Hydroxide, Sodium Hyaluronate, Phenoxy Ethanol, Propyl Paraben, Perfume.

After cleansing my face, I applied the mask and left it on for 30 minutes.
It felt cool and refreshing. It had a subtle fresh scent to it. After I was done, I went ahead and rinse my face and followed by moisturizer. Like all the sheet masks I tried from Missha, they make my skin feel so smooth and soft after I remove it. My skin gets drier in winter and these sheet masks are great to restore moisture. Although the snail mask supposedly contains snail secretion, I didn't notice that it did anything different from the other who don't. Perhaps it is only something you notice after several uses. I must say that the material of the mask, which I am not sure what's it made of, is interesting.
Overall, I had a good experience with this mask. It is much pricier than the others so definitely not something I would use or purchase often.
