Lime Crime Black Friday Haul
Today, I present to you my haul from Lime Crime purchased during Black Friday. I don't know if they ever run promotions but I've signed up for the emails and I never got anything; however, I knew that they run a special on Black Friday just like every body else and their mamas. I've always wanted to try a few things from them but since I was in no rush, I waited patiently for Black Friday. Everything was on sale for 30% off, except for Pink Velvet.
Lime Crime, if you never heard, is popular for their highly pigmented products, unconventional colors, and super adorable packaging.
Imagine my jaw drop when I opened up my package! I mean wow who packs their goodies like that? Lime Crime does! The bright neon pink polka dots are actually printed on the cardboard as well as the unicorns. Plus the merchandise was neatly wrapped in bright lime tissue papers. Too cute! I had to show you how it looked when I popped the box. There's noway I'm throwing that out, lol. I'm gonna have to decorate it or something and keep it to store cute stuff in it.
I grabbed two of their opaque lipsticks. On the left, Chinchilla, a greyish lavender lisptick. The name is cute and I don't think I've seen anything like it. I had to have it. Yeah I know, it's a very odd color but that's what makes it interesting and I like that.
The second opaque lipstick on the right is Poisonberry. Gosh, this color looks wicked! Lime Crime describe it as a berry purple with a violet glow. On the swatches I've seen, it is appears lighter on the lips than it does in the tube.
The packaging is super adorable! They've got a holographic unicorn with holographic stars embedded in the tube. I don't know how they did it but that is no sticker there. Even for someone like me who isn't a unicorn fanatic, I'm very pleased with the packaging. Each cost $18.00 at regular price. Pretty darn expensive if you want my opinion.
Next, I got the Carousel Gloss in the shade Present ($17.00 regular price). It's a berry red gloss with small magenta glitters. Again, it's a hit with the carousel themed packaging. It looks like liquid candy inside. I'm blown by the hexagonal shape of the box it comes with. It makes me not want to throw away, lol.
And lastly, I got the Red Velvet Velvetine ($20, regular price). Love the name! It's supposedly a liquid lip color that stains, dries matte, and is budge-proof for hours. I'm excited that I don't have to worry about getting it on my teeth, lol, which is a typical problem we get with red lippies.
Orders over $50 also qualifies for free shipping, which was nice. Overall, I'm very pleased with how the products were presented. The package took about a week to arrive, which is also a pretty reasonable time frame. Most of the reviews I've heard were positive and the swatches online were impressive so we'll see how it works for me now.
Will do a review and swatches, once I get a chance :)
