Victoria's Secret Nail Lacquer Swatches - Drama Queen and Boudoir

I typically don't find much interests in Victoria's Secret beauty section but when I received my $10 birthday coupon, I decided to check out what I can get out of it. I purchased these two nail polishes eventually. They were two for $15.00 at regular price. I thought it was a bit high but with the coupon, it was definitely worth it.

Drama Queen is a lovely glitter lacquer with small purple and blue glitters and slightly bigger rose glitters. It's very girly and has that textured appearance to it, though not really a textured polish. The base is not too thick or thin but picks up a good amount of glitters. You might be able to get away with 2 coats but I think a 3rd coat would give more of a full coverage.

I added a clear top coat for this picture

Boudoir is a beautiful shimmery ruby red with a satin like finish. I'm normally not into red nail polish but this one is quite stunning It has a very nice formula that also is easy to work with. It has good pigmentation is only two coats is needed for opaque coverage. It has a lovely shine and glow to it that I find very fancy looking. The picture doesn't do it justice. It looks much prettier in person. I'm wearing this on the toes right now. It's darker in natural light.

My Latest and Bestest Haul This Year So Far

I stopped by Sephora the other day to take advantage of my VIB 15% off coupon. I was rather disappointed that they did not have the OCC Lip Tar Primary Colors set in store. So I figure I would order it online later. Well, come to find that the set already sold out! I guess I can't feel too bad, considering all the new stuff that I hauled here.

So I grabbed this Algenist Eye Gel ( $68) because I needed a treatment for my eyes. You know at my age, you have to be conscious about skincare and I believe taking good care of yourself and your skin really helps prevent premature aging. It's very thin, lightweight, and absorbs quickly. I like the pump dispenser and the fact that it doesn't smell funny.

I picked up my birthday present. As you know, the perk of being a Sephora beauty insider is that you get a free gift on your birthday. This year they have a mini Make Up Forever liptick and mascara.

I redeemed 100 points for this Benefit Big Easy foundation. I swatched it in store and it reminds me of a BB cream/foundation hybrid.

Also redeeming another 100 points for the Algenist Firming & Lifting cream. I figured since I'm trying out the eye gel, I figure why not also get the moisturizer.

Got this free cute makeup bag with some free goodie samples.

We stopped by Forever 21 and I was hoping to find their new makeup collection but didn't had that luck with that store. I scooped these two Confetti nail glitter for $3.80 each.

I redeemed my $10 birthday coupon for these two nail polishes at Victoria's Secret. I circled the store a few times and didn't find anything I was interested in so in the end, I just decided to go with the nail polishes. These are regularly 2 for $15.00.

Yesterday, I was in Chicago visiting my sister and the new baby. It just hit me how long it has been since I drove down that road. I just found out that the toll fee increased. We only saw the baby for like 5 minutes and the nurses had to take her to another hospital to run some test and treat the baby for jaundice. Drove my family around running some errands and on our way back home, we stopped by the outlet mall and the CCO store. As you can see, I grabbed a few things.

MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Clearwater and Stormy Pink. I don't know which collection they came from but I likey. $14 each.

I got two Estee Lauder Pure Color Eyeshadow Paint in Neon Fuchsia and Steel. I don't have any color like these so I had to grab. These were $17.00 each.

I scooped up the Estee Lauder Pure Color Cheek Rush in X-Pose Rose ($19.75). I thought the product was interesting so had to give it a try.

Lastly from the CCO, the Estee Lauder Pure Color Vivid Shine in Mirrored Orchid ($21). I know I have a lot of berry colored lipstick but something about this color and finish that just make me want to take it home plus I love the gorgeous packaging.

Across from the CCO was the Bare Minerals outlet store and of course I stopped by too. There was some pretty good deals but I had my heart set on these Prime Time Primer Shadow sets. When I took them to the cash register, they told me the sets were only $9.50 each! I was excited! I have so many colors to play with.

And lastly, my daughter wanted to stop by Rue 21 and I spotted this ring and glitter polish that I thought was cute. Plus we got a 40% off coupon so the discount was pretty awesome.

So that's it. Definitely went way over my budget but oh well! I used coupons and discount and it's my birthday month so it makes me happy to spend, lol. Hope you had a lovely weekend.

What do you splurge on for your birthday? See anything you want me to review first?

Haul - Ulta, Victoria's Secret, and a Few Miscellaneous Items

Guess who went shopping! I got a coupon from Ulta a couple days ago for 20% off my entire online or in-store purchase so I decided to put it to good use.

I was in desperate need of hand soaps. These Ulta Anti-Bacterial hand soaps have quickly grown on me. I love them just as much as the Bath and Body Works hand soaps. These were on sale for $4.00 each. The coupon brought them down to $3.20.

I've been eyeing this spray for some time now and with the coupon, I thought it was a good opportunity to finally try it. My hair is pretty long and reaching down to my waist now. Seems like it took me forever to grow them. Anyways, I always wished my hair was thicker and had more volume because it's always flat and boring. I'm hoping this will give them the bounce I've always been dreaming of. This bottle is $26 but with the coupon, I saved $5.20.

NYX Cosmetics are BOGO 50% off sale. I've had mostly good experience with this brand so I'm always looking for the next thing to try. I usually wait for a sale for the opportunity to snag new goodies.
More eyeliners! If you've been following me my recent swatch posts, you know how much of an eyeliner junkie I am. I, of course, had to get more.

  • NYX Super Skinny Eye Marker Carbon Black, $8.99. I usually don't have much luck with marker type eyeliners. I was hoping this one would prove me wrong.
  • NYX Born To Glow Liquid Illuminator Gleam, $6.99. I don't know what I was thinking. Highlighting isn't usually my thing but I gotta say, this one looked quite beautiful when I tried out the tester in store.
  • NYX HD Photogenic Concealer, $4.99. I don't know why but I've been on a concealer kick lately, lol. This one looks promising.
  • NYX Slide On eyeliner Tropical Green, $7.99. I dig this deep shimmery green color.

Pond's Wet Cleansing Towelettes ($5.49) were on BOGO 50% off. Actually, all Pond's products are on sale at Ulta right now. I was debating between another pack of makeup wipes or a cleanser but since I still have a lot of cleansers to go through, another pack of wipes was the logical decision.

Scuppered and Jack the Lad

I've been wanting these two polishes for the longest time. My lemmings for them are finally over! I justified my purchase with the coupon, which saved me $6.00 on these two babies. I think the price of Butter London went up. Didn't they used to be $12.00 a pot? They are now $15.00 each...*Cringe at the price*
Scuppered is OMFG amazing! I nearly cried when I finally claimed it as my own. It was like being reunited with a long lost lover. Yeah I know, sounds a bit dramatic but nothing gives me the high like a pretty nail polish does. Jack the Lad is also gorgeous, was going to put it back on the shelf but my bad self couldn't do it so in my bag it went as well. This concludes my Ulta haul.

Moving on to Victoria's Secret...

Yep, I'm back to trying to find a new scent and VS has all their beauty products for buy 2 get one free.

  • Dream Angels Heavenly body mist, $15.00 Free. Notes: white musk, sandalwood, vanilla, and white peony. I like this one but I think I would love it if the floral note was stronger and the white musk and sandalwood notes were softer.
  • Very Sexy Touch body mist, $15.00. Top notes: Juicy red pear, honeysuckle, gilded apricot, fresh citrus.Middle notes: Vanilla orchid blossom, blooming magnolia, white peony, Italian iris. Dry-down notes: Vanilla bean, creamy coconut, clean vetiver, amber wood, musk...Dang, I didn't know this one had that many notes but I'll have to agree that this fragrance smells like a lot of stuff has been put into it! My daughter picked this one for herself. It has a sweet fruity floral scent, which is usually what she prefers.
  • Very Sexy Temptation body lotion, $20. Notes: Passion flower, Moroccan jasmine and blushing orchid. The lotion is light and absorbs quickly. It has a bit of a sweet scent. Maybe a bit too much for for my nose.

I found a store at the mall that sold this polish for a buck. It has a mix of chunky red glitters, smaller red glitters, and holographic bar glitters.

Francesca's has some cute jewelries. I don't shop there very often but this time I decided to check it out. The earrings on the left ($18.00) looks like two medallions attached together. It's approximately 2 inches long. The earrings on the right has two jade-like colored stones. The length of the earrings is approximately 1 1/2 inches. It was originally $12.00 but jewelries were BOGO 50% off so this one ended up being $6.00.

I guess that's it for now...

Have you tried any of these products or is there any that are going on your wishlist?
