Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm Super Strawberry - Swatch and Review

Hello lovelies,

My oh my, it has been one hell of a week for me! Feel free to skip this paragraph if you don't want to hear me rant. There is no worst feeling than being a reputable employee to being thrown under the bus when shit happens...ok perhaps there is but I just have a hard time wrapping my head around it. Cowards! Even I'm stupid enough to admit I'm wrong when I know I'm wrong so I guess I'll never understand why some people can't do that. Becoming a casualty of someone else's mistake and lack of responsibility makes me want to slap myself for having to put up with this. This just pushed me over the edge and if I could afford it, I would have stormed out of there. I'm sorry for the rant but life isn't always sunshine and rainbows but it will be ok, I know how to move on. How was your week?

By the way, I didn't purchase this product but I got it from Sephora by redeeming my points.

Packaging

  • Chubby retractable stick with color matching the color of the product inside
  • .1 oz

Product

  • Super Strawberry is a sheer strawberry pink that delivers a sheer wash of pink that is quite natural and flattering on my light skin.
  • I admit that at first I wasn't all that excited about it but a freebie is a freebie so it's nice. After trying it out, I really come to like it. I kept it at work and use it whenever I'm too rushed to apply a lip color in the morning before I head out.
  • It contains mango and shea butters. The texture is balmy and feels very moisturizing, light, and comfortable.
  • I get about 4 hours of wear before the color wears off.

Final Thought

I didn't have much expectation but I ended up loving the sheer natural color and the moisturizing. It's something I probably wouldn't have purchased on my own but after trying it, I wouldn't mind purchasing this at all. If you want a more pigmented lip color then this isn't for you but if you're looking for a simple and wearable shade that keeps your lips nicely hydrated then you will like this.

Clinique Fresh Bloom 13 Plum Poppy Blend - Swatch and Review

Aww man...I can't believe weekend is over already...but as promised, I'm doing my best to keep up with the reviews.

Packaging
  • Not too small or too bulky plastic case. White at the bottom and reflective metallic silver on top. It's a finger print magnets.
  • There's a good size mirror on the inside
  • The blush powder is embossed with a pretty flower design.
  • .31 oz or 9 g

Product
  • Plum Poppy Blend is a lovely medium rose mauve with a subtle pink and gold sheen. It's very finely milled and the texture of the blush is very velvety soft.
  • It is a bit powdery but has good pigmentation, blends easily, and show up well on the skin.
  • It wears well for up to 6 hours before fading.

Final Thought

There's nothing that I don't like about the blush. It is a little powdery but has a nice texture, color, and last well. Love it.

Memorial Day Weekend Haul

Hey lovelies,

I was working on this post last night and I fell asleep on my chair! lol. I woke up with a very sore neck and crawled straight to bed.

So I did some shopping this past holiday weekend. I really don't feel like I got much at all but dang at the end of the day, things add up.

YSL Dare to Glow Silky Highlighting Veil Fatal Red. Ok, I honestly did not need this but I was shopping at the outlets (DF & CCO) and the price was reduced to $11.75 and it just seemed too good to pass. If you're into rose gold, you'll like this.

Clinique Fresh Bloom 13 Plum Poppy Blend ($20.75). I purchased it from the CCO. Yes, didn't need another blush but this one is unlike anything I have so I feel justified to add it to my collection, lol. It's a beautiful mauve rose shade with very subtle pink shimmers. Anyways...more on this when I do my review :)

Estee Lauder Pure Color Cyber Lilac ($17.00). So I returned the Estee Lauder Pure Color Stay On Shadow Paint Fuchsia and exchanged it for this pressed single eyeshadow in the shade Lilac. Gorgeous color, silky texture, and great pigmentation. Ok will do a review when I get a chance.

Bare Minerals loose eyeshadow pigments, 3 for $15.00 at the Bare Minerals outlet store. Yes, they can get messy but I love how luxurious these eyeshadows feel compared to other more affordable loose pigment eyeshadows. I was so tempted to buy 2 ready palettes that were on sale for about $35.00 together, but I managed to control myself.

Aldo Vedessana ($50.00). I wasn't really looking for shoes but I found two pairs that I really like. This one is a gorgeous cobalt blue color with gold chain trimming on the sole.

Aldo Lafary ($40.00). These nude rose strappy sandals are just too cute to pass. These are also very comfy and have padded soles.

Michael Kors Monogram Logo rose gold metallic purse. We now have an MK Outlet store and I scored this baby at an additional 40% off so roughly about $140.00. It's the first thing that caught my eye when I walked into the store and I knew right away I had to have it. Not too big or too small, just big enough to carry the necessities! It also comes with a detachable strap.

Express black and gold buckle bracelet ($22.90). My son wanted more dress shirts and he likes the ones from Express because they fit him better so while we were there, I spotted this adorable bracelet. It was on sale for 40% off at the time.

I'm pleased I didn't buy too much makeup and super excited with the new purse and shoes.

Small Sephora Haul--Tarte, Clinique, and Benefit

I got these goodies last Saturday. I went to Sephora after work to return my NARS Front Row Set because it wasn't all that. *Sigh* yes I have to work my butt off this week and weekend too.
In exchange, I picked up a couple things. I was really hoping to find the new Urban Decay Primer Potion in a TUBE! But they didn't have it. I guess it's only currently available online but I will pick one or two up next time they pop in store. In case you didn't know, they have all 4 of them in the tube. I'm excited about the new packaging! If you want to see how they look, follow this link http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml;jsessionid=FQYTUBICXAFNOCV0KQRRPIQ?id=P284715&categoryId=C10461

Anyways, back to what I was saying...I bought the Murad Acne Complex Kit (not pictured) for my son since the Clean & Clear stuff don't seem to work too well for him.

For myself, I bought the new Tarte Amazonian Clay long-wear blush. I was intrigued since it is new and long-wearing. Most of my blushes have faded or completely disappeared by the time I get off work. I'm someone who is very busy and doesn't like to bother with touching up during the day so I tend to gravitate toward products that are long-wearing. This product claims to last up to 12 hours.
I got the shade Blissful, which is a pinkish coral. I love how natural this looks and it applies matte. I've worn it for the past couple days and I can say, it definitely outlast my other blushes and will get you through the day without the need to touch up. So if you are in the market for a long-wearing blush, you may want to check this out. It's not too powdery, the pigmentation is just right and buildable so you won't overdo your cheeks. Price $25.00.

Next, I impulsively bought this tiny bottom lash mascara from Clinique. For the record, I rarely wear mascara, even though I do have a few different ones at my disposal. This cost $10.00 so I thought, why not?! lol. See how cute and tiny the wand is? It's perfect for reaching those tiny lashes.
The formula is very black. It does a fairly decent job at coating the lashes. Another thing you'll need to know is this mascara is formulated to be removed with warm water. It comes off easily when you wash it off with warm water but try using your makeup remover and this will hardly budge if at all. Interesting, isn't it?

I used my 100 point perks to redeem for this sample Clinique All About Eye Serum. This is intended to "de-puff" your eyes. Ever since I've been using eye creams on the regular, I've noticed less puffiness around my eyes. I haven't given this a try yet so, I don't have much to say about it. This is free for beauty insiders and if you have 100+ points.

At last, I got this free (with any $35.00 purchase) new Benefit B.Right. skincare deluxe sample kit. This is only available to VIB. If you are a VIB, you probably seen the email offer.
This kit contains:
  • Triple Performing Facial Emulsion moisturizer
  • Foamingly Clean facial wash
  • It's Potent! eye cream
I think the glass packaging of the moisturizer and eyecream is so adorable!

That's it for my little haul. I didn't splurge like I did last week, lol. I hope you enjoyed checking out my new goodies.
