Recent Sephora Purchase

Happy Friday everyone!

I have this pounding headache that is begging me to get some rest but I've received this order two days ago already and wanted to get this post up before I go lie down. I'm also exhausted from work and will have to work on Sunday as well. Boo! Other than that, I do have some exciting things to show you....

I've been seeing a few nice things on Sephora's sale section. I got the Philosophy Christmas Cookie shower gel for $14.00. I can't believe I was actually running low on body wash and needed to restock. These Philosophy shower gel last me months and they smell freaking delicious! I think the last one I used up last me at least 3 months. It smells just like a sugar cookie, sweet and yummy.

Next up is the Sephora + Pantone Universe Elemental Molten Liquid Liners, on sale for $10.00. This was the main reason for my haul. You know how much I love my eyeliners and for the price this is a pretty good deal. They are the exact same size as the Glitter Strobe Set and come with a thin brush applicator. The emerald green eyeliner in this set is pretty much the exact same one as one metallic liner from the Glitter Strobe.

From left to right:
1. A shimmery dark blue with sparkling blue, purple, and teal shimmers. It's not fully opaque in one pass but it's not too bad.
2. Metallic shimmery emerald green. This one stains but it's gorgeous.
3. A medium grey lavender with a very subtle pink/green shimmer. It looks a little bit duochrome in the tube but on the swatch you see more of the pink shimmer. Very unusual liner color and I love it for that reason.
4. very dark brown with a matte finish.

I'm very sad to announce that this set is sold out by the time I received it so you will not be able to order it from Sephora; however, it is available on Ebay for less than $20.00.

Another item from the sale section is the Urban Decay Glide On 24-7 liner in the shade Covet, $9.50. They still have 10 other shades that are on sale so this is your chance to get them for half price. Covet is a dark shimmery green with a bit of teal to it. As always these UD liners are smooth, creamy, pigmented, and last fairly well.

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer, $18.00. I got the smaller bottle, which is .33 oz. This one was not on sale but I wanted to try it cause I read so many good reviews. So far I have not found any face primer that I was impressed with so I am crossing my fingers that this one is THE ONE.

I used a promo code to get this free deluxe sample size fragrance. This is Gucci Flora Glamorous Magnolia. It smells really nice. I like it. Don't know for sure if I love it yet but it's the kind of scent I typically go for. It has a fresh floral scent and just a bit of sweetness to it. I like it most when it's just been applied. Once the scent dissipate, I can smell more of the sandalwood and musk, which I'm not too crazy about. It's one of those scents that is perfect for any occasion.

Notes:Freesia, Green Leaves, Citrus Zest, Peony, Magnolia, Musk, Sandalwood, Warm Chocolate Accord.

And lastly the free samples:

  • Fresh Rose Face Mask
  • Alterna Bamboo Anti-Frizz shampoo, conditioner, and treatment oil
  • Cover FX foundation
  • Amazing Cosmetics Velvet Mineral Liquid foundation

I'm seeing some new added items into the Sephora sales section and I am itching to make another purchase...let's see if I can help myself.

Tried any of these products? Tell me what you think...Oh and have a wonderful weekend as well! :)

Philosophy Lipgloss Peppermint Bark - Swatch and Review

I have a few Philosophy lip glosses that were part of a holiday set and never really touched them but I thought I should try to at least review one of them. I picked out what seems to be the most pigmented one. Do keep in mind that the holiday scented soaps and glosses are only available during the holiday season so you won't be seeing these in store anytime soon but who knows you might run into some of them.

Packaging
  • Clear squeeze tube. You're not going to get precise application with this gloss but since it's sheer, I suppose it doesn't matter much.
  • .5 oz or 15 ml, very generous amount of product.

Product
  • The lipglosses smell just like the body wash and if you are familiar with the Philosophy body washes, they smell oh so delicious! Peppermint Bark has a lovely sweet scent similar to that of a chocolate fudge cake.
  • It had a refreshing cooling and minty effect on my lips, not stinging though.
  • This feels rather thick for a gloss and the thickness is similar to MAC Lipglasses. It is also super shiny. One of the shiniest gloss I have.
  • Although this is a pretty sheer lipgloss, Peppermint Bark managed to give my pale lips just a little hint of color and keeps them moisturized for a few hours.

Final Thought

I wouldn't say this is a gloss you need to have, however, if you don't mind thick sheer shiny glosses that smells delicious and are fairly hydrating, these Philosophy glosses are sure nice to have.

Rating: 9/10
Price: $10.00

Availability: Sephora, Ulta,

Hello Beautifuls,

Just wanted to share with you a sneak peak at my blush stash. I know rarely post about them but that is going to change soon.

I plan on swatching them by brand. Some of them I have already swatched or reviewed, in this case I will hyperlink them so you can view them now if you wish.

Super Duper Deals - Philosophy and Revlon Haul

A couple days ago, I needed to restock on paper towels as well as toilet papers. I like to shop at Big Lots for a few home necessities since they always carry low prices. As usual, whenever I go there, I always stop by the beauty isle to see if anything interesting catches my eyes.

Boy oh boy! I was super excited when I saw Philosophy cosmetics on display. To be honest, I never really took a look at Philosophy cosmetics whenever I shop at high-end stores. I guess they just don't catch my attention as other cosmetic companies do. I do however really enjoy their shower gels cause they smell so delicious.
Before I threw any of these in my shopping cart, I made sure to inspect if there were swatched. All the ones I picked appear to be intact. I really hate it when people swatch cosmetics, don't buy them, and the next person who wants to buy it have to deal with this.

Anyways, let's move on to the Philosophy goodies I was able to snag for an unbelievable dirt cheap price of $3.00 each!

  • The Color of Grace Angel Kiss Lip Gloss in Pretty Please. Cute sleek packaging with a nice rosy lipgloss color.

  • The Color of Grace Amazing Grace Shimmering Face Powder. It looks so pretty in the pan; however, I am worried about how much shimmers this powder delivers. I see some pretty fuchsia and pink shimmers in it. I detect a faint rose scent to it. Hmm..I like that :)

  • The Color of Grace Angel Kiss Lip Gloss Trio. Honestly do not need this but for $3.00 I couldn't pass up. I probably going to end up saving a couple of these for gifts.

  • The Color of Grace for Lips, Cheeks, and Eyes palette. The colors are very tame and great for a natural look. I particularly do not like to have eyeshadows with lipglosses within the same palette but again for the price, I can overlook that aspect.

  • The Supernatural Coloring Book. Another pretty and natural color palette for eyes, lips, and cheeks.

  • The Supernatural Lit From Within Cream Blush in Look on the Bright Side. I can imagine that this blush can potentially looks very pretty and natural.

  • The Supernatural Windows to the Soul eyeshadow palette in Box of Truffles. Can't go wrong with more neutral shades, especially for $3.00! I seem to be more thrilled with the price than the product itself, LOL. Let's hope they don't disappoint.

  • The Supernatural Windows to the Soul eyeshadow palette in Plum Delicious. Lucky me, this was the last palette in this color. I love plums and taupes. They are such a nice combo.

I spotted a few Revlon goodies that I honestly don't need but like and for the price, I don't feel guilty for getting them.

  • $2.00 for this duo nail polish combo. I only cared for Carbonite, lol, but oh well Sheer Rose is not a bad addition to the package either.

  • Revlon Matte In The Red - This looks like a true red in the tube. Let's hope that it is so once I try it on. I'm excited at the fact that it is matte also.

  • Revlon Matte Fabulous Fig - This appears to be like a deep terracotta or brick red color in the tube. Looking forward to seeing how this one turns up on me.
Whew that's it for this haul. I just love it when I score some really nice stuff for cheap! Do you like to shop at Big Lots?
