Milani Baked Blush Review + Swatches

Hi ladies,

I've been MIA for the past couple days because I wasn't feeling well. I have this painful canker sore that I inflicted on myself, lol, while vigorously brushing my teeth. Now, it feels sore and tender around the area and eating and drinking really doesn't make it feel better. Secondly, my right arm needed rest. Since I'm constantly working on the computer and typing, both at work and home, arthritis was creeping up on me so I try not to use my right arm so much and give it time to recoup. Today feels better but I still need to take it easy. I don't wanna make it worst.

I have been using these blushes for the past week and I was really looking forward to review them. IDK about you guys but I've had the hardest time finding these in stores in my area. I gave up and purchased them from Cherry Culture on Memorial weekend since they were having a 20% off sale on all their products.

Packaging
  • Net weight 0.12 oz or 3.5 g
  • I find the packaging to be sturdy. It looks similar to the MAC Mineralize blush. Contains just a tiny bit more product and is slightly bulkier (about 7/8" thick) because there is a lower compartment that houses a mirror and brush.
  • The brush is cheap looking and the bristles are stiff. Personally, I wouldn't use it but I suppose it can be convenient for those who want to keep the blush in their makeup bag. I would rather have a slicker packaging and use my own brush.

Colors
  • There is 9 colors available but I only got 4 of them.
  • Dolce Pink - a shimmery light muted pink with gold sparkles. This was one applied the sheerest as compared to the others. I think it's only suitable for fair to light skin. The color is buildable but you still won't get much color payoff even if you try. I'm a little disappointed at this one.
  • Luminoso - a shimmery light peach with refined gold shimmers. This color is quite beautiful. Suitable for fair to medium skin tone.
  • Corallina - a shimmery medium coral with refined gold shimmers. This is the most pigmented blush that I picked up and is suitable for even dark skin tone. If you have lighter skin, you may want a lighter application.
  • Berry Amore - a shimmery rose with slight brown undertone and refined gold shimmers. I think this shade would universally look good across skin tone.
  • These shades may compliment warmer skin tone more but I would still rock these if I was cool-toned.
Product
  • The look, packaging, and texture is very reminiscent of MAC mineralize blush.
  • I was very pleased and impressed at how pigmented and smooth they apply. Colors are buildable and last all day under normal condition. Dolce Pink would be an exception. It didn't quite last as long as the other colors for some reason. It could be because it was sheer from the get go. FYI, I have normal/combination skin. It may not hold well on you if you have oily skin.
  • I personally feel that the quality of the product also rivals that of MAC for a fraction of the price! There is just as much product too.
  • It retails for about $7.99. I just realized that the price has gone down on Cherry Culture. They are now selling for $6.99. Awesome! Get it for even less if you watch out for the sale promo.
  • May be difficult to find in your area but are usually sold in Walgreens, CVS, K-Mart, and some Wal-Mart.
Conclusion
  • I'm very happy with these blushes. I think they are great. The colors I picked looked very nice on my skin tone. I am between fair and light and neutral undertone.
  • I really love the fact that they lasted all day on me. After a long day at work, I come home and notice very little fading. After finding out what Dolce Pink wasn't really working that great for me, I can't really tell you how the rest of the colors I didn't review will work.
  • I wish they ditched the mirror and brush and make the packaging slimmer but I can live with that.
  • Would I recommend these? You bet! It works beautifully and is affordable. However, if you do not like shimmers in your blush, these are not for you. I like it because it adds a subtle fresh glow. The shimmers are not overbearing, just in case you are wondering.
  • My rating 9/10.
Have you tried these yet? If so, what is your favorite color?
