Yesterday, I didn't feel like doing much so I played with my makeup. I've been wanting to create this look for a while. I'm not completely pleased with the gold eyeshadow that I used for this look because the end result didn't look like what I had in mind. I wanted a muted yellow gold. In spite of that, I think it still turned out good.
Here is a list of the product that I used to create this look.
Face
- Milani Baked Blush Berry Amore on cheeks
- NYX Taupe Blush as contour
- Urban Decay Primer Potion
- ELF Mineral Eyeshadow pigment in Golden on inner corners.
- MAC Silver Fog Pigment all over lid. I applied both pigment using the foil method (a wet brush) because I wanted them to look shiny and metallic. It looks edgier this way.
- On the outter corner, I applied Black Dog from my Urban Decay Black Palette. It's a very intense matte black eyeshadow.
- I used on the crease a grey eyeshadow from one of the ELF neutral palette that I own. It's a very poorly pigmented gray but for this look it worked in my favor because it helped blend and soften Black Dog.
- On the browbone, I applied Too Faced Heaven eyeshadow.
- Lined my eyes with the black gel liner from Physicians Formula green eyes set and I used Urban Decay 24/7 Zero on my waterline.
- NYX eyelashes 115 on top
- Ardell 108 lashes on bottom
- Rimmel Moisture Renew Spotlight Beige. I love this nude lipstick. It doesn't wash me out and would look good on any skintone.
I took this picture under natural lighting and I was very pleased at how close it looks to real life. The rest of the pictures were taken under artificial light and flash. The flash tends to magnify the shine from the eyeshadows but at the same time, captures color better than artificial lighting.
Most of my pictures are taken either with flash or artificial light since I mostly find the time to do them at night. I need to make an effort to take pictures under natural light and see if they turn out better.
What compelled me to try this look is because I wanted to see if cool and warm colors can look good together or if they clash with each other. In this case, I think it was a hit. What do you think?
Ooo, I have Golden from ELF too! Hehe. I love that color! This look is beyond fabulous, and looks great on you! I wouldn't expect anything less from you, honestly :) Great job, hun!
