Pure Ice Busted
Busted is a very sheer greyish base with pink shimmers. The formula is thin, almost watery. This polish is more for appropriate for layering so if you have any boring polishes that could use some pink shimmer picker upper. This will do the job quite nicely.
One the swatches, I have one coat of Busted over Wet N Wild Eggplant Frost and 3 coats of Busted by itself on the ring finger.
Price: $1.97
Availability: Wal-Mart

Current Favorite Nail Polish Layering - Copperhead & Oh Baby!
Hello Lovelies,
This is my 1000th post...Wow, I've never imagined that I would come this far. In a way, I'm proud of myself but being at home for the past few weeks really made me think about other aspects of my life. I'd like to cut down on how much I spend for myself, for things I don't really need, so I can invest on other priorities/project but I still want to able to keep my blog interesting and doing what I love. I have to come up with a good balance.
I haven't been nail polish shopping since I had my ankle injury and because I'm still recovering, I'm not able to do nail swatches the way I used to...like moving back and forth between my desk and my window. I decided to put some fresh paint on my nails but I'm too lazy to do designs so I figure why not just layer some nail polishes, hehe.
I absolutely love how this combo turned out so I thought I should share. I'm wearing two coats of Sally Hansen Copperhead and two coats of Pure Ice Oh Baby!
Once I layered Oh Baby over Copperhead, it was like some kind of cosmic reaction happened. It gave my nails a copper/purple duochrome effect with gorgeous scattered blue shimmers. I tried my best to capture the duochrome and you can see a bit of purple on the side of my nails. Honestly, Copperhead is pretty boring on its own but this combo really brings it to life!
Seriously, you need Oh Baby! It's one of my favorite nail polish layer. It's cheap and it pretty much makes any polishes look 10x better. What do you think of this combo? What's your favorite layering polish?

New Pure Ice Glitters and Swatches
My local Wal-Mart has a new display of Pure Ice polishes and I was like all over it, lol. In spite of that, I only found 3 that I feel I had to have.

Private Show |
Private Show is dark jelly base polish with tons of small blue, pink, and light green glitters. I did 2 coats and added a top coat for the swatches. I didn't really need this polish but I wanted to compare it to Butter London The Black Knight, which is significantly more expensive. If you look further down on the side by side swatch, they are both dead on dupes. The formula felt also very similar on both. Patchy and uneven on the first coat but looks perfect on the second coat. So if you have been lemming for The Black Knight, pick Private Show because it's only $1.99!

Over You |
Over You has a clear base, slightly on the thick side but very easy to work with and packs a punch of lavender and holographic teal glitters. Some of the teal glitters are bar glitters. I did two coats with a top coat and as you can see it covers my nails very well. This is super blingy but gorgeous!!

Watch Me Go |
Yeahhh Watch Me Go head over heels for this polish. There is a mix of very fine blue and green glitters in a clear base which was a bit thin. At a glance it looks teal but when you look closely, you can distinguish there two different color glitters. So it was rather sheer but I was able to build up opacity in 3 coats, which isn't too bad. Add a top coat over it and WOW, it looks mesmerizing. I love the depth it has.
Definitely check out their new nail colors if you haven't done so already! They are so cheap and pretty, it's almost a crime not to check them out, haha.

Hauly Molly, Nail Polish Frenzy!
Hello Lovelies,
I wasn't expecting to be hauling this many nail polishes but found them, loved them, had to bring them home and show you guys.
I went to Ulta primarily to get the Too Faced Tinted Beauty Balm, which was on sale today for $22.00 (originally $34). I got there 30 minutes after the store opened cause stupid me was stalling. The shade that would best match me, Vanilla Glow, was already completely sold out! Big UGHHHH! WHYYYYYY!? Anyways, I picked Nude Glow, which is the lightest shade and we'll see how that goes. I might have to go back and exchange it for the right shade once it's back in stock. I also returned the LORAC Ready, Set, Splash eyeliner set. The Redken Control Addict 28 was a free sample. Used a coupon that Ulta emailed me.
Aside from the BB cream, I picked up Zoya PixieDust Vespa. I thought it was interesting how it had silver glitters in it. I know you can't tell from the picture but it's there.
I also got another Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeshadow Stick in Gossip Green, which is a shimmery medium sage, much cooler toned than pictured. It has a light silvery shimmer to it. Really loving these Scandal Eyes eyeshadow stick. They are so creamy, pigmented, and they don't budge.
Made a pit stop at CVS. I used a $5.00 coupon for this Nicole by OPI All Is Glam, All Is Bright. They are currently on sale for $1.00 off. By redeeming the coupon, I only paid a couple bucks for it.
Stopped by Sally Beauty Supply because I was on the hunt for that Orly nail polish, High On Hope. It's a dark dusty blue with purple and gold shimmer reflects. Soo pretty in the bottle.
While I was there I found Finger Paints Fishin' For Fun and it sure looked fun so I picked it up as well.
The two China Glaze polishes I picked up were from the Cirque du Soleil collection and were on clearance for $3.29 each. I got Running In Circles and Water You Waiting For.

From left to right: Private Show, Over You, Watch Me Go |
Lastly, I went to Wal-Mart to get some groceries and spotted these new Pure Ice and Hard Candy glitters. I was so excited I almost squealed, lol. Private Show looks like a potential dupe to Butter London The Black Knight. In case you were wondering, the Hard Candy polishes are $4.00 a pot. They have so many new and pretty shades that I almost wanted to buy them all.
Overall, I didn't do too bad on this haul. I got some good discount on half of the product I hauled.
Are you excited for the swatches?

Pure Ice Rio Swatches
Today felt like the longest day EVER! I was fine until around 4 pm and it just hit me out of nowhere but I felt I was going to pass out. I chewed a ton of gum to keep me awake but that didn't help either. I skipped the coffee this morning cause I was running late for work so that's probably why I felt like I was gonna crash. Plus I stayed an extra hour late because we have so much work. Let's just say I am relieved to be home and feel a little better since I don't have to use much of my brain.
Here I have Rio that I picked up from Wal-Mart a couple weeks ago. Lately I've really been into jelly polishes, lol so every jelly falls under my radar.
Rio is so much more beautiful on the nails than it the bottle. It's a semi sheer raspberry pink with blue shimmers. I swatched this about a week ago and I can't even remember how many coats I used but it's either 2 or 3, which really isn't too bad for a jelly polish. It's got the perfect pigmentation that I want in a jelly. There's still some visible nail line but still very acceptable in my book.

Swatches - Pure Ice All Night Long (The Best Blue Ever!)
Got a really nice nail polish I want to introduce to you. This is Pure Ice All Night Long. I picked up this beauty at Walgreens not long ago. I was just browsing around and of course, checking out some nail polishes. I remember one time when I was at Wal-Mart with my kids and I saw a nail polish stand on our way out so I stopped to look at them and my son said to me while rolling his eyes "what colors don't you have already?" LOL...I was like oh there are still plenty outhere that I don't have!
Anyways, what attracted me to this polish was that the color was a very nice deep navy blue with some teal shimmers and a purple-ish duochrome in the bottle. I opened the bottle just to get an idea of how saturated the color was and it appeared to be quite pigmented so I decided to take it home.
When I swatched it on my nail, I was like WOAH. This nail polish applies like a dream! I was not expecting that for such an inexpensive nail polish. The color looks perfect and opaque in two coats. I was very impressed and pleased with the formula. It also dried fairly quick, has a nice glossy finish, even without a top coat. I know this color is probably very dupeable but honestly, this is the best blue nail polish I have in my collection. It is soooo flipping gorgeous! The purple duochrome is very faint and barely noticeable on the nails, which makes me a little sad but I still love how perfectly blue this polish is. If you don't already have a color like this or you want one with a better formula, you should pick this one up!

Oh Baby! You Looks So Fine Over Smokes and Ashes
I know the title of this post is rather corny but I promise that it is totally relevant to the post. The other day I was at Wal-Mart to pick up some groceries and home necessities and I came across this nail polish from Pure Ice. Oh Baby! is like a hidden treasure that I am sure many would overlook. However, it was the only polish that caught my eyes. When you look at the bottle all you see is a sheer, milky polish with pearlescent teal, blue, and purple shimmers. I had a hunch that it would look nice layered over another polish so I scooped it up and put it in my cart.
The other night, I was swatching China Glaze Smoke and Ashes. This polish was from the Hunger Games collection and I got it from Sally Beauty on sale for a couple bucks. Smoke and Ashes looks dark and mysterious. It's a dark polish with fine green sparkling shimmers. It took two coat for an opaque even coverage; however, I was a little disappointed. The base color is so dark that it conceals the beautiful shimmers in it, making them barely noticeable.
I decided to layer Oh Baby! over Smokes and Ashes and that was instant gratification, haha. Take a look at how gorgeous the blue shimmers of Oh Baby adds a totally new life and depth to Smoke and Ashes. There is a little also a bit of duochrome action from Oh Baby, making me love it even more.
I know many people do not like sheer nail polishes and I don't either but there are certain sheer beauties that are worth picking up because they can look really pretty when paired with another polish. Oh Baby! is one that I would recommend that you try.
What is your favorite layering nail polish?
