Haul - Target, Crown Brush, and Walgreens

I was at shopping at Target on Sunday and scored some pretty good deals with some clothes that were on clearance. I also went my merry way to the beauty isle and grabbed a few things like I normally do, hehe.

  • Dead Sea Essentials by Ahava Chamomile Mud Mask, $2.99
  • L'Oreal Matte-r of Fact, $4.99. I had no idea this was supposed to be matte, lol. I got it cause it liked the color.
  • Revlon Elusive, $3.79. Another polish that turned up matte...What is up with me? I'm not really fan of matte polishes.
  • Sonia Kashuk Velvety Matte Lip Crayon Nudey Nude, $7.59

I made some purchases on Hautelook and needed a couple things to get the free shipping so I opted for the 88 matte palettes. I also came with a detail brush, together for $11.50. Well as you can see below, one of the eyeshadow shattered and blew up all over the place. 1 out of 88 ain't too bad. It was a messy clean up but eventually turned up just fine once I was done. Not all the eyeshadows appears to be matte. Some seem to have a slight shimmer in them.

I also got the deluxe retractable lip brush for $3.50. I'm pleased with the packaging. Looks very nice the bristles are soft yet firm at the same time.

Frazzle Dazzle and Chop Chop Copper

At Walgreens, I scooped more nail polishes, lol. What as I thinking? They were on BOGO 50% off I guess. Chop Chop Copper sorta reminded me of Butter London Scuppered.

Well that's it for this haul :)

My Face Brushes - Blush Brushes (Part 2)

These set of brushes are my blush brushes. They can also be used for highlighting or contouring. If you missed the post about my foundation and powder brushes, you can view it HERE.

  • Real Techniques Contour Blush. Great brush, dense, very soft, and the perfect size. The fibers are synthetic and this never shedded on me.I'm not sure if this one is sold own its own but I did get it from the set, which cost $17.99.

  • Crown Brush C405 Contour Blush, $7.49. Feels fluffy but it's definitely not flimsy either. Does a great job at delivering just the right amount of product and blending it seamlessly. Minimal shedding when cleaned.

  • Wal-Mart Angled Blush brush, $5.97. This brush is very soft but a bit flimsy. It is still a decent brush though. It never shedded on me and has lasted me well for the past couple of years. This would be a good brush to use for highly pigmented blushes that requires a light hand.

  • Crown Brush IB105 Tapered Blush, $6.49. Nice sturdy brush with decently soft bristles. This is made out of Italian Badger hair. Minimal shedding when cleaned.

  • Crown C404 Small Duo Face, $6.45. Everyone should have one of these. It works very well for very pigmented blushes and cream blushes. Hasn't shed on me so far.

Some of these brushes can be used for contouring but I personally like them better for blush and highlight.

Hope you found this post helpful.

Collective Haul - Giorgio Armani, Crown Brush, and CVS

Hello beautifuls!

I have an exciting haul to share with you. A couple weeks ago, Giorgio Armani was having a friends and family sale and when I found out about it, I jumped on the opportunity to snag these Eyes to Kill eyeshadows that I have been wanting for a long time. Because these are pretty expensive, I was patiently waiting for a sale to come through and I was able to get a 20% off discount on my entire purchase and an additional 5% cash back from Ebates. They retail for $32.00 a pot but with the discount, I paid $25.60 each.

Here are the shades that I ordered:
  • Blast of Blue
  • Purpura
  • Pulp Fiction

I was able to get shipping for free and they came in this pretty big box. I was actually surprised there was no bubble wrap but the box was just lined with some tissues.

If you sign up for an account, you also get two free samples. I decided to sample the eye and face cream.

Secondly, I just received my first Crown Brush order today. If you follow me on Facebook, you may remember that I had posted the sale promo about a week ago. They were having 40% off the entire store and 50% off palettes. The brushes were so CHEAP!!! I couldn't pass it up.

  • Pro Striper Set (for nails). Sally Beauty sale similar brushes for wayyyyyy more. Not sure if I'll get much use out of these but dang for $2.00, I thought they might come in handy when I need them. I really like the marble look on the handle. It's pretty!

  • C404 Small Duo Fiber Face brush, $4.17. This would be perfect for applying highlight or with pigmented blushes.
  • C405 Contour Blush, $4.49. This one reminds me of MAC 168. I don't own it but I played with it the other day when I went to MAC. The Crown brush feels very similar.

  • IB128 Angle Fluff, $1.62. This is a bit on the small side but still a pretty decent size to apply eyeshadows.
  • IB112 Badger Angle Brow, $1.40. I think this is a little too soft and fluffy for being a brow brush. I would prefer a stiffer and less fluffy brush to define my brows.
  • IB105 Tapered Blush, $3.89. This is perfect for applying blushes. These three brushes are made with Italian badger hair. The hair feel soft, though I've had softer brushes.

  • Stainless Steel Spatula, $3.00. I actually bought two. Not sure how much use I'll get out of it but I like to have things handy just in case.
So far I'm pretty excited about my new tools. The less exciting thing about this haul was that shipping was $7.00, which I find kind of expensive. My total before shipping was only $23.58. Keep in mind that the price I listed reflects the sale. My package arrived in a large bubble wrap envelop.

Today after work, I stopped by CVS for two reasons. I had $7.50 extra care bucks I needed to redeem and get a birthday card for my boss.
I was actually pretty good and only grabbed the things that I needed! Woo hoo! Give myself a pat on the shoulder, lol.

  • I got the Revlon lash adhesive. I can't remember if I tossed out my old one, it was getting old anyways. I love this so much more than DUO. I'm allergic to the DUO, my lids would swell if I wear it more than a couple hours. I don't have that problem with the Revlon lash adhesive.
  • I forgot my Sephora waterproof makeup remover at my sister's place in Chicago so I figure why not try this Nuance Dual Phase Makeup Remover by Salma Hayek. It's similar to the Sephora Waterproof remover, Sonia Kashuk remover, and Lancome Bifacil. I hope this works good. It's less than $8.00.

So that's it for my haul. I hope you liked it. If you've taken advantage of the sale, let me know whatchu got.
