Aveeno Positively Radiant Skin Brightening Daily Scrub Review

Time for some skincare review and this one has been in the back burner for a while.

Packaging
  • Plastic squeeze tube, 5 oz or 140 g

Product
  • This daily scrub claims to help improve skin tone, texture, and clarity to reveal brighter, more radiant skin.
  • It contains round micro beads that provide a gentle exfoliation that is suitable for daily use. It also contains active soy complex to reduce the appearance of blotchiness, discoloration, and brighten skin.
  • Personally, I do like how gentle this facial scrub is on the skin. It doesn't irritate or dry out my skin. On the flip side, I don't really notice a significant change in skin texture or improvement in my skin tone. It also doesn't do a very good job at removing makeup so you definitely need something else to remove the makeup prior to using this scrub.
  • It has a fresh citrucy scent. Not too strong or overpowering.

Final Thought

It's a good gentle daily scrub that I think will suit all skin type, including sensitive skin. It does a decent job at cleansing without drying out the skin. Unfortunately, it didn't even out skin tone or brighten my skin.

Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Cleasing Pads Review

Hi everyone,

Hope your Monday went well. Lucky for me, this post have been typed up on a better day. My brain is tired and fried. I need a nap right now. When I wake up, I'll have to put my nail gallery project aside so I can refocus on posts I left behind.

Packaging
  • The packaging is nice but very bulky. It sure takes a lot of room on top of my bathroom sink. The pre-moistened pads are fairly large, about 4 inches in diameter but the container is about an inch wider, which leaves a lot of room inside for air. It's tightly sealed for freshness but once you pop this container I think you shouldn't let it sit around too long cause the pads might dry out.
  • Contains 28 self-foaming dual-textured pads. One side is smooth while the other side is slightly textured. I found the textured side still pretty gentle.
Product
  • The product is oil free, soap free, hypoallergenic, and non-comedogenic
  • It claims to tone, improve texture, and brighten skin.
  • Direction: massage pad on wet skin to work up lather. Use smooth side for gentle cleansing and textured side for exfoliation. Rinse face. I really don't think you need to wet your face prior to using the pad. It's really wet and soaked with cleansing solution.
  • I like the fact that these pads actually can work as a makeup remover and cleanser in one. They do a pretty good job at that. They lather a little but don't get bubbly. You definitely want to avoid getting the product in your eyes cause it will sting. With that said, not recommended for removing eye makeup.
  • Another thing I appreciate is that it's gentle and doesn't make skin feel dry or tight after use but soft and smooth.
  • It has a strong clean citrusy scent that reminds me a bit of household cleaners.

Final Thought

I love it. This is the perfect solution for removing makeup and cleansing all at once. It's also gentle and non-drying for the skin.

Rating: 10/10

Price: $6.49-$7.99
Availability: CVS, Walgreens, Target, Wal-Mart

Do you have use cleanser that also removes makeup?

Aveeno Skin Relief 24hr Moisturizing Lotion Review

I totally forgot that I was already finished writing up the review for this lotion. It's just been sitting around as a draft for a few days now. Ooops...

Packaging
  • Simple and practical. A little flat on the side for easy handling and YAY for a pump! I swear all lotions should come with a pump.
  • 12 oz or 354 ml

Product
  • Claims to offer 24 hr moisture, relieve sensitive, itchy, and extra dry skin.
  • The lotion absorbs quickly, sinks right into my skin, and does not leave any greasy or sticky feeling behind, which to me is fantastic!
  • I have very dry skin on my legs and ankles and after using this lotion for a few weeks now, I have noticed improvement and my skin looks smooth and healthy. I don't feel I like get moisture for 24 hours but it does seem to provide that for at least 12 hours.
  • If you want something that smells good, then this isn't the lotion for you. From my past experience, scented lotion really did nothing for my dry skin. This lotion is fragrance free. That might not be a bad thing after all. Being fragrance free also means that you won't run into the possibility of another scent clashing with your perfume.

Final Thought

I would ditch all of my scented lotions for this one. It's good for dry skin and have provided more moisture than any other lotions I've used. Granted, I am not a lotion hoarder and it's actually a product that I often forget or am too lazy to use. Bottom line is if you suffer from dry skin, this lotion will give it the TLC that it needs.

Haul - CVS Clearance and Sale

I'm on the hunt for the new Nicole by OPI nail polishes so I decided to drop by CVS to see if they have them. Well no luck so the search continues.

I grabbed a few items with the clearance stickies. There wasn't that many things that caught my eyes and there wasn't that many things on clearance either. I guess I'm kinda late in the game. I think this sale has been going on for a couple weeks already.

The Aveeno Skincare was on sale for BOGO for 50% off so I decided to grab the daily cleansing pads and the daily facial scrub. I need to stop hoarding mask and cleansers now. I still have a few products I haven't finished.

These CVS nail polish removers were just $0.47 each! Not bad. I can never have too much nail polish removers.

Lastly, I scooped up two Revlon lipsticks. I only paid $2.12 for each. I thought I would quickly swatch them for you in case you might be interested in them and find them on clearance as well. I will do another post with more swatches and a review in the next few days. So far, I like what I'm seeing.

Have you taken advantage of the CVS clearance sale?

Birthday Haul - Beauty

I received a few beauty products as birthday gifts and just had to share with you all
  • Aveeno Positively Nourishing body lotion, pomegranate + grapefruit. Smell fruity and citrusy. I love Aveeno products.
  • A very cute mug with some Bath and Body Works goodies: Malibu Heat lotion, Pink Chiffon lotion, and Pink Chiffon fragrance mist. The mug is adorable. What a perfect gift to give a friend. I'm also excited to try these new scents.
  • $40 Sephora gift card. Wow, that was such a generous gift. I am so blessed to have wonderful friends. I'm not too sure at the moment what I will be getting with the gift card but you know I will most definitely share with you my future haul.
  • $25.00 cash, not pictured.

I went to Sally Beauty Supply to look for that Tangle Tamer brush because I heard such great thing about it. When I tried it for the first time, I can definitely see a big difference in the way it feels as compared to other hair brushes. It's a lot more gentle and quite effective at brushing out the hair tangles.
Of course, I couldn't help but purchase more polishes since they had a buy 2 get 1 free sale. I picked up 3 China Glaze polishes: Sun Worshiper, Sunshine Pop, and Flying Dragon (Neon).
I also came across this handy dandy tool that I thought was interesting. Basically, what it is a tool that you use to grab your cotton ball and remove your nail polish without ruining your manicure. This is great for removing toe nail polishes or removing polishes from that one nail you messed up.
I don't remember how much I paid for these items anymore. I can't find my receipt.

That's pretty much all the latest beauty newbies I've gotten. Do you like to receive beauty products as gifts?

Drugstore Haul - CVS & Walgreens

The other day I took a couple hours off work to meet up with my son's teachers. After the conference, I still had one hour to kill before heading to work so I decided to check out if anything new came out. Milani was on sale, BOGO 50%.

CVS haul
  • Milani Shadow Eyez Green Safari and Royal Purple. These eyeshadow pencils claim to last up to 12 hours, water-resistant, and crease-proof. Sounds like something I would be interested in so I want to give these a try. I'm excited about this green, it looks like a gorgeous emerald.
  • Milani High Speed Fast Dry White On The Spot
  • Milani One Coat Glitter Blue Flash
  • Spoiled Show Me The Money is a beautiful greenish gold glitter polish.
  • Rimmel Kate lipstick #12. It looks like a gorgeous coral. I'm excited try it.

Walgreens haul
  • Aveeno Nourish and Moisturize shampoo and conditioner. Aveeno was on sale for BOGO 50% off. I've been wanting to try their hair products.
  • Aveeno Nourish and Strengthen conditioner
  • Aveeno Nourish and Condition leave-in conditioner
  • Sally Hansen Diamond Strength White Veil. I saw these new SH glitter polish and I just had to have them. White Veil has a mixture of gold and white glitters.
  • Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Ring A Ding has a mix of gold and copper glitters.
  • Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Multi-Faceted has a mix of black, silver, purple, and green.
  • L'oreal Silver Sparkle is a sheer silvery light lilac with gold, teal, and blue glitters. The picture just doesn't do it justice. It's so beautiful in person.

I've included swatches of all the polishes.

That's pretty much it for my haul. Thanks for stopping by :)

Ooops I Did It Again! More Flakies, More Nail Polishes, More Eyeliners...

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!! We are suppose to get 4 to 6 inches of snow tonight. The first major snow fall since this winter started.

Here's what it looks like outside, right now.

Yesterday, after I got off work, I went to pick up my daughter from school and decided to stop by K-Mart in an attempt to find Revlon Whimsical, which is supposed to be the dupe for Deborah Lippmann Glitter in the Air nail polish. Isn't this cool that drugstores come up with these high-end dupes? Heatherann mentioned that she had found hers at K-Mart, I decided to try my luck there and I'm glad that I did cause they were fully stocked. Who still shops at K-Mart nowadays? While I was there, I also spotted these new Milani nail polishes. I scooped up the Jewel FX Teal and One Coat Glitter Pink Flare. Teal is soooo pretty! I'm really excited!

I also spotted these two ELF single eyeshadows on sale for $1.80 each and I bought a the studio contour brush that I plan on using for concealing. I'm surprised that they didn't have a better clearance selection.

I tried hunting down the two Finger Paint flakies that I couldn't find last week and I was able to get Twisted and Asylum...YAY!! With a big smile on my face. Now I feel complete. I drove to 2 different Sally to find these. On a side note, I picked up another set of 5 of these for a giveaway so stay tuned for the announcement.

On my way back home, I stopped by CVS. Saw that Physicians Formula was on sale for BOGO 50%. I needed the Eye Booster eyeliner, which is my holy grail. I also saw these new PF eyeliners and was curious to try. I got the Nude Eyes Eyeliner Trio, Khol Kajal eyeliner trio for brown eyes and blue eyes.

The Kajal eyeliners had a $2 manufacturer's coupon on them so I saved an additional $4.00! :D The only thing that is a bit annoying is that I now have two black and two brown eyeliner. I might give away the extra.

Honestly, my main reason for stopping by CVS was to restock on my Aveeno hand cream because I knew it was on sale for BOGO 50% off and it's my favorite handcream. Anyways, I accidentally grabbed the wrong product. Can you tell me why? Why does this CVS hand cream packaging looks just like the Aveeno hand cream? Is this a trick? Cause it sure tricked me. Ughhh, oh well and another reason to go back to CVS I guess.

That's it for my haul. I'm quite excited with my new polishes. Have you spotted these new Milani and Finger Paints flakies? What kind of product would you like to see in my giveaways?
