NYX Liquid Crystal Liners

NYX Liquid Crystal Liners are a new breed of glitter liners within the NYX family. If you love glitter liners, I strongly suggest you check these out because they are a fraction of the price of some of the high-end brands such as Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Liner and Too Faced Starry-Eyed, which retails for about $18.00 a pot. Glitters are very inexpensive to make so I wouldn’t want to pay too much for it. Fortunately, these cost barely $5.00 and also come in several colors.

What I like about these eyeliners is that the glitters are very fine and you get a pretty decent amount of product on the first layer of application. Of course you could always go back and add another layer to make it more intense and sparkly. Once the gel dries, the glitters adhere pretty well onto your skin and won’t fall out until you remove them.

Prior to my recent Cherry Culture haul, I tried out Crystal Jade first just to see if I like it. Because I was very happy with it, I went back to repurchase Crystal Gold and Crystal Pewter. I definitely prefer these over the NYX Candy Glitter liners, which the glitters are a bit chunkier.

Adorable Purse Pendant

Last weekend when I was in Chicago, I did some shopping on Bling avenue...lol, jk...This whole block sold purses, jewelries, and accessories. I was like OMGEEE I'm in heaven! Silly me loves all that glitters even if it's not gold or diamonds. Among the stuff that I purchased this piece of jewelry is my favorite. It's about 1 inch wide and 1 1/4 inch long and also came with the necklace. I just love how adorable and well made this is.

 I can't remember how much I paid for it but I'll let you guess. How much would you pay for this?

Pink Bow With Polka Dots Accent Nail

Since I haven’t painted my nails in a while, I decided to do so today. I’ve seen quite a few people doing accent nails so I wanted to do one of my own. This is quite simple and fun to do.

For the pink nail color, I used Orly Purple Crush. For the accent nail, I used a black nail polish from Claire’s. I painted a bow using a craft brush and Art Deco Baby Pink. I added some polka dots using Art Deco White and a rhinestone in the middle of the bow. I topped everything off with Seche Vite topcoat and voila! So cute and gurly nails ^^

I'm so digging this fuschia nail color...so hawt!

NYX Studio Line Liquid Liner Review

A while back, I ordered 2 of theses NYX liquid liners and since I liked them so much I went back to purchase more.

Pros:

• Long lasting. Smudge-proof and budge-proof. Once it’s on, it stays on until you take it off with makeup remover.
• Brush applicator that can draw fine or thick lines.
• They have 12 shades to tickle your fancy.
• They are affordable and worth the price tag.

Cons:

• They take a bit longer to dry, like 30 seconds or so. I recommend you not to apply them when you are in a rush.
• They are not easily accessible and are only available online Cherryculture.com or nyxcosmetics.com. I can’t even find them at my local Ulta.
• Some may find the brush applicator a challenge for application.

 Overall, I like the staying power and the beautiful finish of these two shades. I prefer a felt-tip applicator over a brush applicator but I can make it work since the brush is stiff yet flexible to give me enough control. At less than $5 bucks you are definitely getting a deal with these. I recommend you check them out…Please let me know if you own the other shades and how you like them.

Extreme Gold is a bright metallic gold. I wished I had this when I was doing my masquerade makeup look for the outter gold detail of the mask. Now, that I have it I'm pretty excited.

Extreme Shappire is a bright metallic cool-toned blue. It actually doesn't look like a sapphire color in my opinion.

Extreme Silver is just a light metallic silver. I'm sure this color will come in handy.

Extreme Blue is a gorgeous intense blue. I absolutely love love this eyeliner. When I first received it my jaws just dropped. I can’t find the words to describe how pretty this blue is. Once dry, it has a glossy metallic finish. I have not seen an eyeliner shade quite like this. It really makes your eyes pop and looks very flattering. I receive A LOT of compliments when I wear this eyeliner…Cause it’s just that noticeable and pretty!

Extreme Purple seems a bit more watery and not as pigmented so you will need to layer it to get a more intense color. It has a beautiful glossy metallic finish when dry as well. Although it looks very pretty, it just doesn’t pop like Extreme Blue does. I still like it much even if I favor Extreme Blue.

Benefit Femme Metale Review

I purchased this Benefit Femme Metale set during Sephora’s VIB sale promotion the retail price is $38 but with my discount, it brought the price down to $30.40. This is a limited edition and exclusively available at Sephora. I like the name of this set, it suits it so perfectly.

This set contains 3 full-sized creaseless cream eyeshadows:

Taupe-aztic is metallic bronzy gold with gold micro-shimmers.

Platinum is a metallic white with pearly white micro-shimmers.

Plum-ing For Gold is a metallic plum with gold and pink micro-shimmers.

I was interested in trying out the cream shadows and these colors looked very appealing to me. At first, I was worried that the cream shadows may crease on me because they feel so creamy. I also like the fact that they are also easy to blend. I put it to the test last night and wore the plum color for about 6 hours. Under normal condition, I did not experience any creasing or fading and I didn’t even use a primer. However, to be on the safe side, if you have oily lids, it would be best to use a primer first and set it with a powder eyeshadow just in case. You can apply them with your fingers (make sure they are clean first) or you can use an eyeshadow brush, preferably one with synthetic fibers. I would personally recommend using a brush because it’s more sanitary and easier to blend. If using fingers, you may risk picking up too much product, which could cause creasing, and make it harder to blend. So far I really like them and will look forward to do some festive looks with these since the colors look so holiday-ish.

Steel Her Date is a steal blue with blue shimmers

Blinged is a metallic silver.

The eyeliners apply smoothly and are pretty pigmented. They are also long-wearing, budge-proof, and smudge proof. I tried to rubbed them off with my finger after swatching them and they stayed strong. They have all the qualities that I look for in an eyeliner.

Overall, I am very happy with these products and they are definitely worth checking out. The regular price of one Benefit cream eyeshadow is $19.00 so with three you already have $57.00 worth plus you also get 3 eyeliners. $38.00 for the set is definitely a great buy.

NYX Black Label Lipsticks Vs. NYX Round Lipsticks

The NYX Round lipsticks are definitely more popular than the Black Label and I hear a lot of raves about them. Although they are made by the same company, both products are quite different, especially in terms of packaging and formula. Both carry a variety of texture and offer a large scale of shades to choose from. Here are the details…

NYX Round Lipsticks

-         Retails for $4.00 but sometimes you can get them for dirt cheap and as low as $2.00 a pop.

-         Net weight is 4g or .14 oz

-         The tube is round and black; however, the bottom is clear and shows the color of the lipstick.

-         The number and color of the lipstick is labeled on the cap.

-         They have a rose/synthetic scent that isn’t too overpowering (in my opinion) but can be bothersome for those who are sensitive.

-         Depending on the shade, there is a variation in texture and formula. I find these lipsticks quite slippery overall, which makes the darker shade appear uneven when applied. With that said, the colors don’t last too well…about 2 hours on average. I would recommend use of a lip liner to keep the product from feathering.

-         Some of the shades are too frosty.

-         The diameter of the lipstick is actually slightly smaller than that of the Black Label. The length is also shorter. Given these were purchased about the same time used only on a couple occasion.

NYX Black Label Lipsticks

-         Retails for $7.50.

-         Net weight is 4.2g or 0.15 oz. So you are actually getting a bit more products here.

-         The tube is dark grey, squared, and bulkier. These also come packaged inside a paper box. I like the packaging of the Black Label better. They look prettier.

-         The number and color of the lipstick is labeled on the cap.

-         The bottom is clear and shows the color of the lipstick.

-         They smell like grape, which I’m not a fan of but the scent wears off after you apply it to your lips.

-         They are more pigmented than the Round Lipsticks, have a creamier, and more velvety feel. They apply smoothly and also feel more moisturizing. They last longer.

Overall, if you’re just looking to try new shades and want to start building up your lipstick collection, the NYX Round Lipsticks are a great way to start. But if you want a better quality and more luxurious feeling on your lips, it’s definitely worth paying a few bucks extra for the Black Label Lipsticks. The formula of these lipsticks are comparable to MAC quality but for half the cost. I personally will not repurchase the Round Lipsticks anymore. I am a lot more satisfied with the Black Label Lipsticks; they are among my favorite lipsticks under $10.00.

Chanel Rouge Allure Laque - Coromandel (72)

The packaging is sleek, black, and classy. The tube has a nice weight to it and displays Chanel's logo on top of the cap

So I was at the mall earlier today and decided to check out Chanel's makeup line. I impulsively bought this lipgloss because for the longest time I have been wanting to try something from Chanel. I am so happy of my purchase today. These Rouge Allure Laque have an amazing formula! They are super pigmented and apply quite opaque with just one layer! Feels thin and non-sticky, surprisingly very moisturizing. It doesn't feel like lipgloss at all...more like liquid lipstick, if that makes any sense. It leaves a glossy shine that makes my lips look full and luscious. It also has a very light pleasant perfumy scent. I am so tempted to just go back and buy the rest of the colors. Only con is it cost $32.

Doe-foot applicator. If you're looking to try shades of red, Coromandel is something worth considering.

This color really stood out of the pack. I have nothing quite like it. Coromandel (72) is a warm red lipcolor with a hint of orange. I find that this shade of red suits me best. It has very fine gold mico-shimmers as well that don't really appear noticeable unless you look really up close. This lipgloss will leave a stain on your lip and is meant to be long-wearing.
