TGIF! Are you ready for some more nail polish spams? hehe. I don't know where my motivation has gone to but perhaps it's the PMS kicking in. I'm moody! lol. I'm not working today because our office is closed for renovation. I am a bit anxious to find out how things are going to turn out on Monday when we return to work. I guess the fact that we'll be having smaller work space and hardly any storage space bothers me a bit. They're trying to fit like 25 people in our business office. Phew!
Alright, let's move on to sparklier things. I have these 3 new DL polishes I wanna show you.
Shake Your Money Maker has a very sheer but dark green base with small teal green glitters and larger holographic gold glitters. It's super glittery and the glitters can fully cover your nails in 2 to 3 coats.
Glitter And Be Gay has a very sheer yellow base, large and small holographic gold glitters, small pink glitters, and small holographic purple glitters. You can get full coverage in 2 to 3 coats.
Stronger has a sheer jelly dark blue base with a mix of large red glitters, large holographic gold glitters, small sapphire blue glitters, and small silver glitters. Like the previous two, it also needed 2 to 3 coats for full coverage.
For all the swatches in this post, I used 2 coats of the Finger Paint clear top coat on top of the glitters. These type of glitters are going to suck out a lot of that top coat so I feel at least 2 coats is necessary for a glossier finish.
I found all three to be INSANELY glittery and the formula was pretty similar in all three. The glitters didn't want to spread out evenly so I had to move them around and finagle with the brush in order to place them where I want them. If you want to only do one coat, I would suggest starting with a base color first. However, if you want your nails to be totally covered in glitters, you only need 2 or 3 layers. It just really depends on how much glitters you pick up and how you spread them across the nails but because these are so jammed pack with glitters the base feels rather thick, you can get a lot of glitters within the first coat. If you get any of these, your nails are going to be blinged out to whole nother level! There's so much sparkles and holos that it hurts my eyes, lol.
Removing and cleaning is going to be a nightmare. I got glitters all over my clothes when I tried to remove them.
In another word, the good is maximum glittery experience like you never had before. The camera somehow managed to dim the sparkles and shine but they are much brighter in person. The bad is trying to even out the glitters and layers and cleaning up. Oh yeah and the price. These polishes aren't going to be for everyone. They're loud, crazy, ultra sparkly, and can blind anyone that get a glimpse of your nails so you've been warned.
Thoughts? Would you be bold enough to rock these and be proud of it?
Price: $19.00
Availability: Sephora
Well.. I def would wear it (I nearly wear everything xD) BUT..
ReplyDeleteI dont like these at all and I normally love glitter nail polish.
But here it seems like its all about putting a lots of glitter randomly in a bottle oO
Do you know what I mean haha? .... its too much... I mean I love sparkling nails but its like you said in your post.
And for me they are not pretty in the way DL glitter nail polish usually are.
It kinda looks like a huge amount of loose glitter put on the nails... "secured" with a clear top coat :D
Or maybe: Im just weird :o
I don't mind the color combos. I think they're quite pretty but it's the holos that are killing my eyes, lol. I think there's too much of it.
DeleteThese are exquisite!
ReplyDeleteThank you. They sparkles like jewels.
DeleteI think all three of these are very pretty...but, as I've mentioned before glitter removal annoys me greatly. If I were to purchase either of these, I'd do 1 accent nail only. No sense in driving myself insane trying to remove a full manicure, so really no need for me to purchase either of these. They are very pretty though...thank you so much for the swatches.
ReplyDeleteI don't think anyone will ever enjoy removing glitter polishes but I'm willing to put up with it for some sparkles, lol. Yes, these would be perfect for accent nails, even I find them overwhelming on their own.
Deleteholy glitter! I am so in love with these!
ReplyDeleteThese are like glitters on steroids, lol.
DeleteThose are crazy bold! But I hate removal so that alone would scare me away. :P
ReplyDeleteI know. Removal was a nightmare but I just had to not think about it until then.
DeleteWOW! OMG! 2 to 3 coats?! I will definitely run out and get them now!
ReplyDeleteyep you don't need that many coats. They are very glittery.
DeleteWOWZA! These are pretty amazing. For a true glitter polish like that I would pay the $19!
ReplyDeletelol well to each their own but if you want super blingy nails then these will fit the bill.
DeleteLOVE the first glitter!! But I just hope getting those glitters off wasn't too hard for you :( They all look like a pain in the ass to take off!
ReplyDeleteI wiped them off before they completely dried so it wasn't half as bad but still got glitters all over myself.
