China Glaze - Be Merry Be Bright & Travel in Colour
This morning was nice and quiet until I got a weather alert on my phone saying that we were under a tornado warning. Fortunately, nothing happened other than rain, at least in our area. It was a rather relaxing weekend for me. Didn't do much other than work a bit on my blog and stayed home watching Netflix.
I picked up these two nail polishes from Sally Beauty Supply last week and I'm due for some swatches.
Be Merry Be Bright is one of China Glaze new polishes for the holiday and well apparently this year's collection just failed to thrill me. I thought I was going to like this one but after I swatched it on I was like mehhh it's ok. It contains a mix of pink and purple glitters in a clear base. The base is thick which picked up a good amount of glitters but also made spreading them a bit more difficult.
Travel in Color is an odd name for a sheer nail polish but it does have a lovely blue and pink shimmer to it. I layered it over OPI Do You Lilac It and I completely fell in love with the combo. It has a very pretty shimmery glow to it and I wore it that way last week. Had so many compliments on the mani.
I hope you all had a great weekend.

WOW! The OPI and Travel in Color one looks AMAZING! Great layering!
ReplyDeleteI layered it over other colors and I was like mehhh...but over this purple, I was like wowowowow <333
DeleteBe Merry Be Bright is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI wished it had larger glitter in it too. I think it would have looked nicer that way.
DeleteThey are both so pretty! :O I really want to try the first one though!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it. It needs a few drops of thinner though since it's kind of thick.
DeleteHmmmm...I don't know, the CG Halloween and Christmas collections both kind of disappointed me this year. But I like the layered manis you came up with, they look great!
ReplyDeleteYeah I don't know what happened. Their collections this year aren't as pretty as the years before.
DeleteOh wow! I would have never noticed Travel In Color if it was just by itself! Great layering! :D
ReplyDeleteI always keep an eye peeled for those sheer looking polishes. They are like hidden treasures and perfect for layering.
