Femme Couture Mineral Efffects baked eye colour

I purchased these baked eyeshadows a month ago at Sally Beauty Supply and haven't got a chance to do a review until today. Fortunately, at the time I got them when they were on sale, buy 2 get 1 free. They are a bit pricy at $8.99 a pot. If not for the sale I may have passed them because this is a makeup brand I haven't heard anyone talk or rave about. I figure I'd give it a shot and if I didn't like them I would return them. Originally, I had bought 2 baked eyeshadows and a baked bronzer because it reminded me so much of MAC's MSF. I have to admit these look quite similar to MAC's baked eyeshadows too.The shimmers were so big that they appeared more glittery and it did not look good on the face. I went back to exchange it for another baked eyeshadow.
These baked eyeshadows are actually pretty good and pigmented, IMO. I suggest you give them a try, especially when you find them on sale. I don't know if you can get them anywhere else beside Sally Beauty Supply. While you are there, you should also take advantage of the Sally's card. It cost $5 but they give you a $5 coupon back anyways so you have nothing to lose and you save a little more when you use the card.

Plum Delish – the consistency of this baked duo is more on the shimmery side. The small side is a pinkish violet with pink and blue fine shimmers that applies sheer to semi-opaque. The larger side has a dark purple base with fine pink and blue shimmers as well. Pigmentation is good but could be better.

Hazel eyes – the small side is a very light sage green and the larger side is a darker sage green. They may appear matte in the pan but I wouldn’t say completely matte. Once applied, they have a slight sheen to them. The pigmentation is pretty good, although could be better.

Classic Khaki – This is the most pigmented out of the 3 and my favorite one too. The small side looks like a sheer gold color while the larger side is a forest green color with fine green and gold shimmers. This is sooo pretty! I highly recommend you pick this one up. I’m really glad I did.  

Colorful and Dramatic Lashes

A couple weeks ago, I decided to stop by Walgreens after work to check out some sales.
While I was looking around by the cosmetic section. They had displayed Halloween stuff out and these lashes were calling out to me, lol. I thought "wow, they look  sooo freaken cool!" Perfect for playing dress up or if you just want a bold statement on your eyes! This is also the perfect time to pick some up since Halloween is coming up soon and you won't be seeing them again till next Halloween or if you dig them out somewhere out there online. They'll add extra drama to your eyes :D
They are reasonably priced and range from $3.99 to $5.99 at Walgreens.

MAKE UP FOREVER Eye Seal review

The MUFE Eye Seal is a mixing medium for your eyeshadows to turn them into “waterproof liquid liners.” I mixed the Eye Seal with eyeshadow 3 different pigments and colors. It dries fairly quickly.
After 5 minutes, I rubbed my fingers rigorously over the swatches and the colors did not budge. That was a good sign.
To test the waterproof claim, I ran my hand under cold water for about 2 minutes and pat it dry. I rubbed my fingers on the swatches again. There was a slight fading on the copper and purple eyeshadows but the blue remained intact. I think the reason for that is because the blue eyeshadow was more finely milled and better quality than the other two. So if you are using a good pigment to mix with the Eye Seal, you will get better results.
The verdict: this is a truly waterproof and long lasting mixing medium.
I purchased it at Sephora for $20. The box is so small that I think many people do not even notice it. I had to ask a person that works there to help me find it. I came across this product when I was browsing Sephora’s website and found it very interesting so I was really dying to try it.

Pros:
- Waterproof, budge-proof, smudge proof
- Dries quickly
- Last all day
- Versatile…You can mix with ANY color you have.
- Saves you money because you won’t have to spend more on several different color eyeliners.
- A little will go a long way. You only need only one or two drops to get enough product for a one time use on both eyes.

Cons:
- Only available at Sephora
- It’s a tiny bottle for $20. About the size of an eyedrop solution. Then again if you think about it you only need one or two drops per use so this will last you.
- It can ruin your brush if it has natural bristles. I recommend you use synthetic bristles for this product and clean your brush immediately after you finish applying your eyeliner. Once it dries on your brush, it’s very hard to clean.
- Cannot be used on the waterline.
- You will need a really good makeup remover to remove it preferably one made for waterproof makeup.

On a scale of 1 to 5. I'd give it a 4.5.

Dupe for MAC Rebel Lipstick

So I think I’ve found a dupe for MAC Rebel lipstick. It’s the Wet N Wild Megalast in 908C. I wouldn’t say they are 100% identical but pretty darn close. Rebel has a slightly bluer tone, applies more smoothly, and has a satin finish. 908C feel drier. I can barely slide it on my lip without pulling my skin. It has more of a matte finish. The good thing is it’s scent-free. This is a product you either gonna love it or hate it. Personally, I hate it. Too dry for my liking. But if you don’t want to spend the extra money on Rebel, 908C comes close to home as far as color goes.
I swatched both of them on my lips. Rebel on the upper lip and 908C on the lower. Honestly, I can’t even tell the difference. Can you? What do you think, dupe or not?

E.L.F Sale and Mini Review

E.L.F. aka Eyes Lips Face, is having a 50% off sale on everything on their site now till October 18, some may be even 60% off but only through October 13.  You can also find their products in select stores like Target, Big Lots, and the Dollar store; however, quantities may be limited. They are super cheap makeup and their regular price range from $1-6 unless you are buying a set or a kit. For those on a tight budget, the sale makes them even cheaper!

My two cents about E.L.F. is that their product are actually decent for what you are paying. Of course, they can't really compare to high-end makeup but they are worth a shot. I personally prefer their Studio Line products. It's pretty good quality for just $3 a piece. I've ordered a few times from them and they ship your order fairly quickly. I got mines within a week from placing my order. Shipping cost is around $6. They always have sales, so just wait for a sale to go up before purchasing. I'm interested in trying out a few more things but I'm also trying to save my money for other purchases. Since the holidays are coming up, there will be a lot of sales and good deal packages.

My favorite E.L.F products that I've ordered so far is the Studio Line Powder brush, Studio Line blush, and Studio Line Eyebrow kit.

 The powder brush is my go-to foundation brush and I use it daily. My only complaint about this product is that is it a bit flimsy around the ferrule. Otherwise, it blends my liquid foundation like a dream for a soft-focused airbrushed effect and doesn't shed. It's densely packed but not too tightly. The bristles are very soft and since they are synthetic, you won't ruin them if you use liquid foundation.




I have the E.L.F. blush in pink passion. It looks like a bubblegum pink with a slight blue tone to it. It’s completely matte. It’s pretty pigmented and finely milled so I’d suggest using a light hand. The packaging is quite sturdy and includes a small mirror. The front window allows you to see the color inside the pan without having to open it.

I have the E.L.F. eyebrow kit in dark. One side is a tinted gel and the other is a dark brown powder. The packaging and size is exactly like that of the Studio Line blush. It also comes with a small brush applicator. The tinted gel kind of goes sheer so you won’t over apply the color. I usually don’t bother using the powder to set it. It seems to look more natural with just the gel alone.

Fall Inspired Look

Lately, the weather has been getting cooler and most trees have changed their colors. I see a lot of crimson, amber, yellow, and brown on the leaves every morning on my way to work. I've decided to incorporate that into this look. It may appear a tad bit too bright but I can only work with what I have. Overall, I am pretty happy how it turned out. For the record, I don't go shopping looking like this! lol...Just having fun with makeup :D
