Swatches, Nicole By OPI - Fabulous Is My Middle Name

A little while ago, I purchased this polish from Wal-Mart and apparently I found out that this shade is exclusive to Wal-Mart.
When I looked at the bottle, I thought that this glitter polish was quite interesting. I have not seen anything like it out there. It has very fine silver glitters and pink, red, blue tiny bar glitters. I have 3 coats on the swatches and wow I am totally in love with it. It looks so unique!

Here I have it swatched over a black polish but I can't remember how many coats I did. Looks beautiful either way but I actually like it more on its own.

Drugstore Haul - CVS & Walgreens

The other day I took a couple hours off work to meet up with my son's teachers. After the conference, I still had one hour to kill before heading to work so I decided to check out if anything new came out. Milani was on sale, BOGO 50%.

CVS haul

• Milani Shadow Eyez Green Safari and Royal Purple. These eyeshadow pencils claim to last up to 12 hours, water-resistant, and crease-proof. Sounds like something I would be interested in so I want to give these a try. I'm excited about this green, it looks like a gorgeous emerald.
• Milani High Speed Fast Dry White On The Spot
• Milani One Coat Glitter Blue Flash
• Spoiled Show Me The Money is a beautiful greenish gold glitter polish.
• Rimmel Kate lipstick #12. It looks like a gorgeous coral. I'm excited try it.

Walgreens haul

• Aveeno Nourish and Moisturize shampoo and conditioner. Aveeno was on sale for BOGO 50% off. I've been wanting to try their hair products.
• Aveeno Nourish and Strengthen conditioner
• Aveeno Nourish and Condition leave-in conditioner
• Sally Hansen Diamond Strength White Veil. I saw these new SH glitter polish and I just had to have them. White Veil has a mixture of gold and white glitters.
• Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Ring A Ding has a mix of gold and copper glitters.
• Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Multi-Faceted has a mix of black, silver, purple, and green.
• L'oreal Silver Sparkle is a sheer silvery light lilac with gold, teal, and blue glitters. The picture just doesn't do it justice. It's so beautiful in person.

Hard Candy Sky Swatches

I have a love and hate relationship with this nail polish. The first picture above was taken with flash and that's when you see it's hidden beauty. Sky is a very pale blue with an iridescent blue sheen to it. My disappointment is that that blue sheen is pretty much undetectable under natural lighting once it's on your nails.
The application was worst. It was very streaky and I had such a hard time trying spread the color evenly. I don't know if you can tell but it still looks streaky. The pigmentation was not that great either. I had to do three coats in order to get a decent coverage. Lastly, the drying time was longer than what I am normally accustomed to.
Gosh, I love how it looks on the first picture but this polish is such a disappointment. If you know of any dupes that has a better formula, please let me know.

CCO / MAC Haul and Swatches

On our way back home vacation, I decided to make a pit stop at the CCO, lol. Yep, more shopping.  I haven't shopped there in a while so I was hoping to find something I might want.

Here's what I picked up

• MAC baked eyeshadow Smoked Ruby. I was happy to find the baked eyeshadows from the semi-precious collection which released back in July 2011. There is something unique about this color. It's a shimmery darkened burgundy brown. This shade is quite pigmented and smooth.
• MAC baked eyeshadow Jade's Fortune. This shadow is a greyish teal with multi-colored shimmers. It's rather sheer when applied dry and gives a better color payoff when applied wet. I was surprised that once it was swatched, you can barely see the green
• MAC baked eyeshadow Hint of Shappire. It's a greyish lavender blue with multi-colored shimmers. The pigmentation isn't that great when applied dry but with a wet application, the shimmers really come to life.  
• MAC eyeshadow Lime. This is a bright matte lime green. I love adding more matte to my eyeshadow collection.
• MAC Kissable lipcolor Strut Your Stuff. This is a bright red lipgloss that I find very pigmented, no shimmers. It has a blue undertone and a slight raspberry tinge to it.
• MAC lipstick Prince Noir is a matte finish according to the label but I find that it has a slight sheen to it when swatched.  I wonder if it goes away after a while. The color kind of remind me of black cherry with a brown undertone. It's very vampy but I love it. I know I won't use it much but I like to keep these shades around for days I wanna try something different.

By the way, swatches of the baked eyeshadows are done dry on the left and wet on the right.

 

Quite honestly I just can't keep up with these MAC collections anymore and it's getting to the point I really don't mind waiting to see if they show up at the CCO. It's not always fun paying full price, unless  it's something you want bad enough. Otherwise, good things can happen for those who wait and have access to a CCO.

NOTW - Lacy Play Date

This is a slightly late post but before I went to vacation, I had repainted my nails because the old nail polish was chipping on me and I had to fix a broken nail.

What I'm wearing on my nails

• Milani Smoothe Base Coat. This is my current favorite base coat.
• Essie Play Date
• With the new nail stamping plate I bought recently, I picked a lacy pattern. I used Sally Hansen Color Quick Pen in Silver Chrome for the design.
• Seche Vite Top Coat

  

My struggle with this mani was that I felt the formula of the HS pen was drying way too fast. No matter how quickly I tried to stamp my nails, some of it wouldn't transfer. Fortunately, it's not very noticeable.
The design looks very subtle but to my surprise, many people noticed and complimented on them while I was shopping.
So far I've really been enjoying nail stamping and I am dying to buy more designs.
