Ulta Haul

I purchased a few items from Ulta last week and yesterday so since I didn't get a chance to post my Ulta haul from last week, I'm going to put them both in here. I was there mainly to check out if OPI's new collection made it to the store but I guess not.

- I got these two new Revlon eyeshadow palettes in Metallic Chic and Party Pops. They were on sale for BOGO 50% off. I don't need them but I was so curious to try them since they are new on the market. Regular price is $8.99 each.
- Seche Vite Top Coat. This was on sale for $4.99. Regular price is around $9.00.
- NYC Ultra Last Lipwear in Garnet. On sale for $0.99
- Pop Beauty Pressy Puzzle eyeshadow palette. On sale for $4.99. That was an impulse buy, lol. I think it's because it was so cheap.

- I bought another Seche Vite Topcoat. I decided to stock up on this since it's on sale.
- Ardell Lashes, 108 (this looks so natural as lower lashes) and 305. On sale, 2 for $6.00
- Essence Quattro eyeshadow. $2.99
- Essence nail polish - Just rock it. $0.99

Reviews to follow. I may not review the false lashes though.

Wet N Wild ColorIcon - Silent Treatment Review + Makeup Look

I meant to post this last night but I unexpectedly passed out early. I guess I really needed to catch up on sleep. I usually dont get much sleep during the week, about 4-6 hours a day, and I make up for my lack of rest during the weekend.

Anyhoo, let's cut to the chase and talk about this awesome palette.

Eyelid color - shimmery taupe with a pinkish undertone
Crease color - matte black with specks of gold shimmer
Browbone color - shimmery light pink

What can I say...I always find myself amazed at how pigmented these WNW eyeshadows are. They are just amazing and hands down my favorite drugstore eyeshadows. Now, I tried to make these colors work together on a makeup look and I think I didn't do too bad but to be honest I didn't quite like it 100%. The browbone color was a bit sheer. The crease color gave me the most difficulty. I had a hard time to blend it. It is so pigmentated that it's hard to control the amount of product you pick up on the brush, which is why my makeup turned out a bit more dramatic than I intended.
This palette will be appealing to a lot of people because its neutral colors. I would advise be careful with the crease color if you don't want your makeup to turn out too dramatic.

On my eyes, I'm wearing the WNW Silent Treatment eyeshadows according to how it was labeled. I used Stila Smudge pot in black to line my eyes. I applied false lashes but this time on both upper and lower lash line. This is my first time using false lashes on the lower lash line and wow, I love it! I was afraid it'd look weird but it didn't. It actually looked natural, which is a nice surprise.
On my cheeks I applied MAC Dirty Plum blush with a stippling brush because the blush is so pigmented. On my lips I used WNW Perfect Pair Lip Wand in the shade 123. I guess I only have the number because the name was on the packaging.

Wet N Wild ColorIcon - I Dream of Greenie Review + Makeup Look

Wet N Wild just recently released their new products and I spotted them at Walgreens last week. They were on sale for 50% off so I took advantage of the sale to pick up a few eyeshadow trios and nail polishes. I know I know, I seriously do not need anymore eyeshadows but because they were brand new items and dirt cheap, I couldn't resist.
A makeup look was also long overdue so I decided to do a review and makeup look together.

The eyelid color is a lime green color with specks of tiny gold shimmers. The crease color is a shimmery medium green with blue undertone. The browbone color is a shimmery/frosty white with a light green undertone. These colors are very intense, pigmented, and easy to blend. I experienced a bit of fall out with the gold shimmers from the eyelid color. I can't stop but being amazed at the quality of their eyeshadows which rivals that of the higher brands for so much less. I purchased this palette on sale for $1.49. I believe the original price is $2.99. I know these colors may not be appealing to a lot of people since they are so bright and bold. I personally wouldn't be walking out the door with these colors but I like to have them in my stash just so I can play with them. I highly recommend these palettes.
I will review and do a makeup look with the other WNW trio palettes as well so be patient. I plan to post them all this week.

Now on to the makeup look...

I'm wearing on my eyelids, the WNW palette in I Dream of Greenie. I applied the colors according to how they were labeled. I did a double winged eyeliner...cause it's more fun! I lined my upper lash line with Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner, which is my favorite black eyeliner. On my lower lash line, I'm wearing Stila Smudge spot in violet. Between the winged liners, I applied wet a yellow eyeshadow from my Coastal Scents Creative me 1 palette.
On my cheeks, I'm wearing NYX blush in Cinnamon. It look scarry bright orange in the pan but when applied lightly, it can look prettier than you think.
I decided to go all out and use a bright color on my lips. I'm wearing MAC Toxic Tale lipstick from the DisneyVenomous Villains Collection. It's soo intense and bright, like a neon pink, that you'll need to be brave and adventurous to be willing to wear this color. I have not seen any drugstore dupe for this lipstick. It's quite unique I must say.
Ha! I'm really liking how all these bright colors go with each other.

Essence Nail Polish - Plum Perfect

Yes it's another nail polish review, lol! I've just been hauling nail polishes like crazy so bear with me. If you are interested in other products, don't hesitate to make a request. I try to swich things around but at the same time, try to review the latest product I bought and a lot of them involved nail polishes.
With that said, this is also another 99 cents nail polish from Ulta. I think this brand gets overlooked and deserves a little more exposure and praise. Their products are actually pretty decent and similar to Wet N Wild in quality and price. The bottle is quite small (.16 oz / 5 ml) but the quality and price makes up for it.
This shade applies very smoothly and evenly and goes almost opaque on the first coat. It's pretty pigmented I must say. It's a cream finish, no shimmers whatesoever, and the color isn't exactly what I would describe as a plum but more of a deepened raspberry.

Essence Nail Polish - Choose Me

This is another Essence product I picked up from Ulta a few weeks ago. The bottle is relatively smaller than your typical OPI or China Glaze bottle. You get .16 oz or 5 ml of product, which may not seem like much if you plan to wear this often. The good news is it only cost 99 cents and the shade is absolutely gorgeous! It's a turquoise color with small flecks of green and gold. The sparkles actually appear more vivid in person. It applies smoothly and evenly. The formula is semi-opaque, I did 2 coats on the picture. A third coat would make it more opaque. The drying time is average to fast, IMO. Anyways, if you liked the color of China Glaze Atlantis but don't like to deal with glitters. You may want to pick this one up. For the price, you really won't be sorry. I absolutely love it.

Bobbi Brown Night Sky Long-Wear Eye Palette

I purchased this palette from the CCO a couple days after Christmas for $38.50. I have to admit I have a hard time keeping up my reviews with my hauls, even when I do 1 to 3 posts a day. I honestly didn't need this but I don't own any Bobbi Brown cosmetics and I've just been dying to try something from her line because I always hear great things about it so I finally gave in.

The palette measures approximately 5 x 2 x 3/4 inches. There is two cream shadows and two gel liners, each has its own individual lid, which I like because that would prevent the product from drying. The palette includes a large mirror and a dual ended brush.

One side of the brush is wider for applying the cream shadows and the smaller side is for the gel liners. The bristles on the smaller end is a bit too thick in my opinion and making it hard to draw a small thin line.

Rockstar long-wear cream shadow is shimmery light silver
Ocean Storm long-wear cream shadow is a shimmery dark blue with a purple-ish grey undertone
Black Ink is a black gel liner. As you can see it's not a very intense black and dries matte.
Thunder Storm is a greyish dark brown with specks of shimmers.

I was the most disappointed by the cream shadows. Although they do wear well and do not crease even without a base, applying them was rather difficult because they felt so dry. I can barely get anything out of the pot by using the brush. I have a little more success by dipping my finger, warming up the product, and apply it directly to my eyelid. Application is blotchy and the cream shadows dries too fast before I get a chance to even out the color. Boo!
The gel liners on the other hand applied like a dream. They are creamy and pigmented BUT Black Ink smudged slightly on my lower lash line after a couple hours of wear. However, Thunder Storm did not and lasted all day.

In conclusion, out of all the products within this palette, only Thunder Storm performed well. Black Ink was ok and the cream shadows were a nightmare, which is a shame because they were quite pretty. The packaging looked great. My rating for this palette is 5/10. I do not recommend that you purchase this. I will return it or exchange it for something else. It's not worth the money. I would expect more for $38.50 even if it is already at a discounted price.
