How to Fill and Shape Your Eye Brows

I often get complimented on my eyebrows (whenever I do them, lol) and Holly Ann had requested that I do a post about how I do my brows. Although, I don't feel like I do anything special or amazing to them, I still take these steps whenever I want to make them look nice.

1. First off, I have sparse and thin brow hair so they are pretty easy to manage. I usually pluck the stubborn little hair that grow out of place with a tweezer like every other day. If you have bushy or thick eyebrows, this task may be a challenge. And if you have no idea how much to pluck, I would suggest that you get them waxed or threaded by a professional and from there maintain them on a daily basis by tweezing them out as they come.
2. By using a lash comb, I brush my brows up and trim about 2 mm out wherever I feel like they are a bit long or not going the way I want them to. I don't do this often because I don't have a lot of hair anyways. Be very careful when you do this or you may trim too much and it won't look pretty.
3. Now that your eyebrows are nicely groomed, you fill them in if needed. You have the option of using a brow pencil or brow powder. I use a combination of both on occasion. I tend to reach for my ELF eyebrow kit often. I like using the tinted gel. It's not too pigmented so it's easy to control and it looks quite natural on me, which I like. I don't like it when my eyebrows look like they've been drawn because it looks clownish.
4. I pick up the tinted gel with a stiff small angled liner and about 1/2 inch from where my brows start, with short strokes I apply the gel moving my way outward until I reach the arching point.
5. I pick up more product if needed and go back to apply from the arch point and making my way down.
6. I go back to where I started filling my brows and use the left over product on my brush to slowly work my way inward. Tip: by using a pencil and a short light-handed stroke, you can create/draw the illusion of hair. This will take some practice to master until you have more control of how much you apply.
7. Rub off excess product with a dry Q-tip if needed.
8. See the difference between the before and after of my brows? Keep it as natural looking as can be. Avoid using brow powders/pencils with red undertone. If you have dark hair, use a color that is a shade or two lighter than your hair color. If you have light hair, use a color that is a shade or two darker than your hair color. Once you are done filling your brows, if you want or need to, you can use a clear or colored brow gel (the one that comes in a wand/mascara looking tube) and brush over your brows to keep them in place. I normally don't bother since my brows are not really out of control.

I normally like to just fill along the natural shape of my eyebrows but if you are anal about symmetry then you can use the above diagram as reference. The start of your eyebrows should vertically align with your tear duct. The arch of your eyebrow should be slightly over your eyeballs. Your eyebrows should end where the edge of your nose and outer corner of your eyes align.

You may have already seen or heard about these tips but if you haven't yet, I hope it was helpful. Thanks for reading :)

Wet N Wild Comfort Zone Makeup Look

For this look, I decided to use the duo-chrome eyeshadow from the Wet N Wild Comfort Zone palette because I have never used duo-chromes on my eyes before. I'm really loving the effect and I hope you will enjoy it too.

Eyes
  • I primed my eyes with Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • I applied NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in French Fries over my lids. Doing so will intensify the color and effect of the duo-chrome
  • I use the brown crease color from Comfort Zone and blend it on my crease to soften the hard edges from French Fries.
  • I applied the teal/red brown duochrome eyeshadow over my lids
  • I lined my eyes with Wet N Wild Mega Liner in Black. Tight lining with UD 24/7 Zero pencil
  • I lined my bottom lash line with MAC Pearlglide Intense Eyeliner in Undercurrent
  • I filled my browns with ELF eyebrow kit dark
  • I applied false lashes.
Cheeks
  • Contoured my face with Sally Hansen Luminous matte pressed powder in Deep
  • ELF pink passion blush on the apples of my cheeks
Lips
  • Dior Addict Lip Color Rose Broderie (663)

Wet N Wild Comfort Zone Palette

Unfortunately, I don't wake up early enough to allow myself more time to put my face on in the morning so a lot of my makeup gets neglected. These WNW eyeshadows just recently hit the stores and some may not have them in yet. As far as I know, there is only three new 8-eyeshadow palettes.

Packaging
  • Cheap and convenient
  • Full size eyeshadows
  • Net weight: 0.3 oz or 8.5 g
  • In the back of the palette, there are different makeup look combination suggestions.
  • Includes a cheap dual ended foam tip and brush applicator.
Product
  • What can I say other than the fact that these colors are absolutely gorgeous, pigmented, and creamy.
  • You can create so many different looks with this palettes.
  • First drugstore makeup that offers a duo-chrome eyeshadow
  • Most people are looking forward to this palette as compared to the others
  • Gotta love neutrals, they are so easy to wear and you just can't go wrong with them.

Colors
  1. Frosty white with a yellowish undertone
  2. Shimmery champagne
  3. Shimmery medium brown with a warm undertone
  4. Black eyeshadow with pink and orange shimmers
  5. Metallic light bronze
  6. Shimmery green with a gold sheen
  7. dark cool-toned greenish-brown with gold shimmers
  8. Duo-chrome with teal and readdish brown shimmers
Verdict

I think anyone who purchase this will love this palette. I'm pretty happy with all the colors that it came with althought I wished they included at least 2 mattes. For the most part, they still work well together. You will get a lot of use out of these colors. For an attractive price of $4.99, you are defintely getting a bargain as well as a great product. My rating 9/10.

Valentine Date Night...Makeup Look & Outfit

First off, I wanna wish you a Happy Valentine's Day. Hope you are enjoying this time with a special someone or Friends & Family.

I had a busy weekend and spent time with the boy-friend. It's hard to get back to work and blogging. I feel like I could use another day just for myself to relax.
We celebrated an early Valentine by going to a fancier restaurant. Well, it was kind of a last minute thing, lol. We made reservation the night before so it was harder to get into the place he initially wanted to go so we had pick another restaurant that was available. We dinned at Bacchus located in downtown Milwaukee. It was pretty crowded Saturday night so service was a bit slower. The food was pretty good, although I've had better. It's a nice place to go for a special dinner.
Here is the website of the restaurant if you care to check it out: http://www.bacchusmke.com/
Now, let's go over what I wore...

Eyes
  • I used Make Up Forever Waterproof Eyebrow Corrector #3 to shape and define my brows.
  • I primed my eyelids with Urban Decay Primer Potion before applying my eye makeup.
  • I used the browbone color of Wet N Wild Silent Treatment all over my lids, which is a shimmery light pink.
  • I applied a shimmery medium purple from my Too Faced Glamour To Go palette on the outter V and blended it in the crease. I used the same color to line lower lash line.
  • I applied a matte white with a pinkish undertone from Smashbox on the browbone
  • I lined my upper eye lids with Stila Smudge Pot Black and applied false lashes.
Face
  • I'm wearing Lancome Teint Idole Ultra and MAC MSF Natural.
  • I'm wearing MAC Shell Pearl beauty powder as a hightlight above my cheeks
  • I used MAC Prim & Proper Powder Blush on my cheeks
  • I applied NYX Taupe blush as a contour on my temples and underneath my cheek color
Lips
  • I lined and filled my lips with Wet N Wild Berry Red lipliner
  • I applied Cover Girl Lip Perfection lipstick in Entwined which is a deep burgundy/berry color. I decided to go with a bolder lip color since my eye makeup looks more simple. The darker and redder lips makes this more of an evening look.

Outfit (I know I'm not a fashion icon and most unlikely to be the best dressed but I like to keep my clothes appropriate for my age and the occasion)
  • A pair of black skinny pants
  • A light pink Satin cami with ruffles running through the middle of my chest
  • A Berry colored cardigan
  • A pair of white pumps with black lace trims.

Requested Valentine Makeup Look

Jennifer D requested that I do a Valentine makeup look using brown and purple. So I tried to make this look more Valentine-ish. I think it worked. I would have gone with bolder lips but I figure not too many people would be willing to sport that so I decided to make it look as wearable as can be and still have colors and look pretty.

Eyes
  • I applied Urban Decay Primer Potion all over the lids before starting.
  • I am using NYX 10 Color Eyeshadow Palette in Velvet Rope and Champagne & Caviar.
  • Color 1 was applied over the lids
  • Color 2 was applied on the crease and lower lash line
  • Color 3 was applied on the outter V
  • Color 4 was applied on the brow bone
  • On my upper lash line, I'm wearing Stila Smudge Pot in black and over it I used the NYX Studio Liquid Liner in Expreme Purple for a little pop of color.
  • To accentuate my eyes, I used top and bottom lashes that looks natural.
Cheeks
Lips
  • I wanted my lips to look pouty, luscious, and kissable. I used Revlon Pink Pout lipstick and over it I applied Revlon Colorburst Peony lipgloss. The shine from the gloss gives the lips a fuller appearance.

Hope you guys enjoyed it. I will try to do another Valentine look by the end of the week. Feel free to leave a makeup look request. I'd be happy to give it a whirl.
