Holiday Blues Makeup Look

Sorry, I've been MIA for a while. I've been swamped at work and putting in extra hours so by the time I get home, finish cooking, and eating super, I was too drained to do anything else. I also had to drive out of state last weekend to attend my uncle's funeral. When I got back, I was feeling sick to my stomach with food poisoning. I am starting to feel better but my tummy was still acting funny today.

There is only 16 days left until Christmas and I haven't even started shopping (for others, haha it's still Christmas almost every day for me :p)...*sigh* We got a couple inches of snow today and it's supposed to snow all weekend so I doubt I wanna be out there shopping under these weather conditions.

But anyhoo, I'm back in business and I did this Holiday blues makeup look last night. I promess you won't be feeling blue with this look.

  1. I used a dark brown eyeshadow to shape my eyebrows since my mother took my ELF eyebrow kit.
  2. I applied Urban Decay Primer Potion on my lids, followed by NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow pencil in Electric Blue on my lid. I did so because I wanted a colored base to bring out the vibrancy of the eyeshadow.
  3. I used a wet brush to apply MAC Blue Flame mineralized eyeshadow on top of Electric Blue.
  4. I used MAC Togetherness mineralized eyeshadow on the crease. This is a trio eyeshadow so I am only using the medium grey color.
  5. I applied on my brow bone the sparkly off-white eyeshadow from my Wet N Wild eyeshadow palette Lust.
  6. I added to the inner corners of my eyes the light silver eyeshadow from Too Faced Liquif-Eye Shadow Collection.
  7. I lined the upper lash line with Stila Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner Black and NYX Studio Liquid Liner Extreme Silver.
  8. On waterline, I used Lancome Le Crayon Khol waterproof pencil eyeliner in Blanc Audacity
  9. On the lower lash line I used Benefit Blinged eyeliner and Benefit Steel her date eyeliner. I also applied Estee Lauder Double Wear mascara on my lower eyelashes.
  10. To finish the eye makeup, I added some false lashes.

  1. For the face, I used Smashbox Photo Finish face primer. I concealed my imperfections with Benefit Erase Paste. I mixed Lancome Teint Idole Ultra foundation with Revlon Colorstay foundation to obtain my perfect shade and used my ELF Powder brush to apply. I set the foundation with ELF Complexion Perfection pressed powder.
  2. I contoured my temples and under my cheeks with NYX Taupe Blush.
  3. I also contoured my nose with Naked eyeshadow from Urban Decay.
  4. I applied NYX Pinched Blush to my cheeks
  5. For the lips, I lined my lips with Sephora Cool Coral lip pencil. I used Lancome Color Fever Enticing Rose lipstick and used a little bit of MAC Cruise Control Lipglass just on the center of my lips.
There you have it, the finished look. I know I used a lot of products to complete this look but since this is a festive and more glam look, I just decided to go all out. I love the little blue sparkles from Blue Flame and the silver eyeliner on top of my false eyelashes enlarges and brightens my eyes. Since the eyes looked dramatic, I used a soft pinkish coral color for my lips.

  1. Aww, Welcome back to blogging! I miss your blogs. I feel your pain. I have been just working so much I barely ever get to blog but 1x a week now. And yes, it's about time I start shopping for others too. I have a bad habit of finding things I like for others and then buying myself one too. hahaha.

I love your blue makeup look! So pretty. I love the mineral shadow!

  4. Hi there, I realise this post is quite old but I was wondering if the Lancome white waterproof liner is any good (does it stay on?) I'm looking for something for my waterline :) thanks :)

    1. To be honest, I don't reach for this liner very much. I do feel that it is a very good liner, it glides easily upon application and does last but I haven't paid attention to how long it actually lasts on the waterline.
