Ulta and CVS Haul...AND how I saved :D

Work has been like a mad house these past couple weeks as we try to meet our monthly deadline. Since we are behind, I ended up busting my chops at work all weekend and managed to do a little bit of shopping.

I made two trips to CVS this weekend. It's become one of my favorite place to shop for my drugstore beauty supplies. First, let's take a look at what I bought and I'll tell you why I love this store.

I was running low on my Revlon Colorstay and since it's one of my favorite drugstore foundation, I had to go get another one. Fortunately, Revlon products were BOGO 50% off so I was able to grab the PhotoReady foundation, which I have been dying to try since it came out.
I don't even know why I got this but I also bought the Sally Hansen Airbrush Spray foundation, like I needed another foundation, lol. I guess curiosity pushed me to buy it. Now, I'm thinking about returning it, lol, cause I really didn't need anymore foundation. If anyone has tried it, let me know what you thought about it.
I got the CoverGirl Lip Perfection lipstick in Divine because I like the color and I had a $1.00 coupon.
I purchased these Physicians Formula gel/cream liners for Hazel eyes. After Holly Ann hooked me up, lol, I had to get more of these. I got $7.00 extra care bucks back on this purchase.

On my second trip to CVS, I spent a good hour in there debating on what to get, lol. Forcing myself to buy things I actually need, like the makeup remover and the Aveeno Daily Detoxifying Scrub. The PF Happy Booster was on sale for $6.00 off plus there was a $3.00 coupon attached to it. I honestly didn't need it but the sale was so good, I just couldn't get over it so I bought it.

Anyways, with that said, here is why I love shopping at CVS. Look at how much I saved by using the CVS coupons. Sign up for the CVS card, cause it's free and you'll save. Secondly, join the Beauty Club and take 10% off your first beauty purchase. Thereafter, you can get money back on things you buy.
Every time you shop at CVS, scan your card and print your coupons. Most of the time, you'll be able to combine all your coupons. On the first receipt, I had $13.00 worth of coupons. On the second receipt, I had $15.00 worth of coupons. Isn't that just amazing or what? So yeah, with that kinda of reward and saving, I'm definitely going back there for more, lol.

My next stop was Ulta. Again, I was forcing myself to get things that I need or will be useful. I had a $5.00 coupon for the OLAY ProX. Yes, I finally got my hands on it thanks to the coupon, which was a great initiative. I'm excited to try it. It's a cheaper alternative to the much higher priced Clarisonic but I wonder how they really compare in performance.
Secondly, I stumbled upon this stipple brush from Real Techniques. Aside from the nice pink handle, what really caught my attention was the bristles. The space between the white and black bristles was short, which to me translates more firmness. And I was right! Cause when I opened up the package and touched the brush, I was quite pleased on my first impression. It's one of those denser stippling brush that I can appreciate.
At last, I finally caved in and wanted to give this Evian facial spray a try. I really wonder if it's going to do anything to my makeup. Some people swear it works. In my mind, it's still just water, lol...I'm skeptical but trying to be open-minded here. Let me know what your thoughts are about the makeup setting sprays. I'd like to hear your opinions.

So I was able to get $5.00 off by using the coupon, on top of that I had the Ulta coupon for and additional 20% off my entire purchase, which also saves me $9.40. That means that OLAY brush ended up costing me only $20.00! Yay me! LOL
If I add up all the coupons I used this weekend, I saved $42.40. Ahhhhh...it feels good to know I saved a lot. I just need to take that Sally Hansen foundation back, lol. It's expensive and I don't need it. I was being greedy but that would be $14.00 back in my pocket.
Anyhoo, hope you found something of interest in my haul and that you had a nicer more relaxing weekend as compared to mine.

  1. I broke out using that Sally Hansen foundation twice. I loved the lightweight feel, but it didn't cover my redness really well. I decided to give it to my sister to give it a try.
