November 2011 Favorites

I have hauled so much stuff in November due to all those sales after sales and some of the products I purchased I didn't even get to try. Hopefully, I get to use them more in December.

1.  Coastal Scents Divine Powder Buffer. I wouldn't call this a buffer brush but it does a wonderful job at applying liquid foundation. I've only experienced very minor shedding when I started using it. If you are looking for a stippling foundation brush, this would be worth checking out.
2.  Coastal Scents Synthetic shadow brush. I love this brush! It does a great job at applying eyeshadows all over the lid. It isn't too large or small. It's dense, soft, and does not shed at all! The price is awesome as well.
3.  Coastal Scents Pro Blending Fluff. I ordered two of these and one seems to have more bristles than the other. The one that did have more bristle was an excellent dupe for the MAC 217 which is a fantastic brush and blends eyeshadows like a dream. The one that had less bristles still works just as good as far as performance goes.
4.  Urban Decay Primer Potion (UDPP) in Sin. I didn't think I was going to love this more than I love the original formula. I have been using this a lot to add a little pop of shimmer to my lids. I sometimes use this alone when I am in a rush and don't have time to mess with eyeshadows.
5.  MAC paintpot Let's Skate. I have been loving cream eyeshadows lately. This limited edition and was part of MAC Glitter and Ice collection.
6.  MAC paintpot Morning Frost. Great for everyday wear since it is a shimmery light champagne.
7.  Aveeno Intense Relief hand cream. It's that time of the year where the air is cooler and drier, so is my skin. This hand lotion absorbs fast and doesn't feel greasy. It does a pretty good job at moisturizing my skin. It's also unscented, which I don't mind either. One of the best hand cream I've tried.
8.  Lush Buche de Noel face cleanser. Smells amazing and is very gentle on the skin. The grounded almonds help exfoliate the skin without being too harsh. This is limited edition and they will stop selling it after Christmas.
9.  Kat Von D Foiled Love lipstick Forever & Never. I love this color although the formula is drier. It looks beautiful and lasts for hours.
10. Essence Look at Me lipstick. The color is similar to Forever & Never, the only difference is it is creamier and looks less metallic.
11. Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick Violet Frenzy. I've worn this one often. It looks very flattering on me.
12. Zoya Edyta. I will post swatches soon but this polish is amazing! I don't think there is any dupe out there for it.
13. Essie School of Hard Rocks. Such a unique and pretty teal shade.
14. Color Club Very Merry Berry. The colors of the glitters in this polish are a lot of fun and the polish smells like berries!
15. China Glaze Snow Globe. The pastel glitters in the bottle sparkles like a snow globe. It's so pretty to just look at lol.
16. NARS Danmari Blush Palette. This came out right around Sephora Friends and Family sale and VIB sale so I couldn't pass this up if I was going to get a discount on it. The only shade that I already have in this palette is Orgasm.
This sums up my favorites for the month of November. Hope you found something you also liked.

Black Friday Haul - INGLOT

Finally! I got my package. Let's just say that I didn't have much luck with this order but eventually received everything, which is good.
Apparently, the sale was supposed to start 11-24-11 at 3 am and I was trying to place my order later that evening and there was no discount after I had wasted 30+ minutes trying to pick the shades that I wanted. I checked back on Friday and noticed that the discount was there so I proceeded to do the whole thing again. Ughhh....Let me just say that finding the color that you know you want is a pain in the butt. I personally don't like how ordering layout is displayed.
FedEx was supposed to deliver my package on Thursday but for some reason got delayed till Friday. And then yesterday, the FedEx guy didn't even attempt to deliver my package and left it at the appartment office, which delayed my package for another day because by the time I came home from work, they were closed.

Anyways, here is what I ordered:
  • Two Freedom System Palette 10 eyeshadows, $11.90 each
  • 344 Matte. All single eyeshadows were $4.25 each. Original price is $5.00.
  • 337 Matte
  • 323 Matte
  • 333 Matte
  • 338 Matte
  • 371 Matte
  • 332 Matte
  • 375 Matte
  • 359 Matte
  • 387 Matte
  • 358 Matte
  • 376 Matte
  • 361 Matte
  • 341 Matte
  • 407 Pearl
  • 419 Pearl
  • 414 Pearl
  • 439 Pearl
  • 446 Pearl
  • 450 Pearl
Apparently, the discount was only applied to the eyeshadows. I thought it was supposed to be 15% off everything but I guess I don't think they specified. My total came down to $108.80 and I received free shipping.
My order arrived carefully packaged with bubblewrap and all the eyeshadows were in perfect condition.

The 10 eyeshadow Freedom System Palette measures 6 5/8 x 3 3/8 inch and is 1/2 inch thick. As you can see I ordered 20 eyeshadows but instead of going with the 20 eyeshadow Freedom System Palette, which would have been cheaper, I ordered two 10 shadows palette. I like the size of the 10 shadow palette much better. It's more convenient for storage.

I mainly stocked up on matte eyeshadows since they are harder to come by and it's very nice that Inglot has a large variety of colors to choose from. I am pretty sure I am set with Inglot for now or until next time they have a sale, lol...Or maybe not. I will post swatches eventually.

Have you taken advantage of this sale? If so what did you get?

For more product and purchase info, please check Inglot's website http://www.inglotusa.com/

I just found out that the sale has been extended until December 5th. So enjoy while you still can.

Deborah Lippman Get this Party Started Swatches

I purchased this set not long ago from Beauty.com during their friends and family sale so I got these amazing polishes for 20% off so I paid $33.60, which they were originally $42.00. I've always wanted to give this brand a try but considering the price I waited for a sale to have an opportunity.
If you would like to see close up pictures of how the glitters look like in the bottle, please view the haul post. Otherwise, here are the swatches on my nails.

Happy Birthday looks like a party in a bottle. It has multi-colored glitters small and large in a clear base. I've seen a few similar polishes such as the OPI Rainbow Connection, Milani Jewel, and NYX Multi Glitter. Similar I say but probably not exact. I did two coats on the swatch.

Candy Shop has a pink jelly-like base with similar or same glitters as in Happy Birthday. Hard to tell if there is a difference in the glitters since they kind of look the same to me. I applied two coats and the base color covered the nails very well.

I actually wore Forget You this week. It has a black jelly-like base with small and large multi-colored glitters. I had minor chipping at the tips of my nail within a few days. Like the latter one, I also applied two coat and got a pretty opaque coverage.
I really enjoyed staring at my nails this week, lol. This polish is so pretty and fun to wear. It's just not your typical black polish but one with a lot of oomph!

Overall the consistency and formula of these polishes were excellent I say! The glitters applied well. The formula was slightly on the thicker side but still very easy to work with. You get a pretty decent amount of glitters in two coats and the colored based weren't too sheer or too dark....Just perfect! Although you may see a lot of glitter polishes that look similar to these, there is a noticeable quality and feel to these polishes. I can honestly say they are some of the best glitter polishes I've tried so you are getting your money worth. However, if you find that buying this set is a bit too much, you could get away with just Happy Birthday and layer it on top of any color of your choice.

Do you have any DL polishes? If so which shade do you have?

Small Revlon Polish Haul and Swatches

So the other day, I decided to make a pit stop at Walgreens and see if I could find the polish that I saw Stephanie H hauled and bingo there it was! These two polishes were on BOGO 50% off and an additional $1.00 off with coupon provided by Walgreens. How cool is that!? They have the coupon at the register so you don't have to clip coupons and remember to use them, lol, which is something I'm not always good at.

Does this polish look familiar? If you are thinking Chanel Paradoxal, then you read my mind! LOL. The name of this shade is Naughty which looks like the dupe Revlon previously released, AKA Perplex. I don't own Perplex or Paradoxal so I can't really compare the three of them but from pictures I've seen, they look pretty close. Naughty is a dark eggplant color with a grey undertone to it. The pink shimmers in it are slightly noticeable.

I couldn't decide which other polish to get for the BOGO so I grabbed Smoldering. Again, are you thinking what I'm thinking? LOL. This polish looks similar to OPI Not Like The Movies and Wet N Wild Gray's Anatomy. From first glance, I can say it's not a close dupe but falls within the same color family. It's a silvery shimmery grey. It sort of looks like a duochrome but can't really say that it really is. Looks more like an irridescent pink in certain angle.

So that is it for my little Revlon haul.

Black Friday Haul - Z Palette

I have a lot of single eyeshadows that needs to be depotted in order to save space and be more organized. So with that said, this is going to be a project that hopefully I can get done soon. I've previously hauled a Z palette a long while back and still haven't filled it up yet. Hmm yah! aren't I just terrible or what?
Anyways, during Black Friday, Z Palette had a sale and their palettes were 20% off, plus an additional 10% if you like their Facebook page. My total subtotal came down to $28.80 and with $5.20 shipping, I ended up paying $34.00 as my grand total. These palette are normally sold for $20.00.
I'm sure most of you beauty addicts know what these palettes are but for those who are just getting started, this is basically just a magnetized palette with hard paper cover that allows you to store and customize your eyeshadows or blushes.
The palettes pictured above measures 5 x 8 inches and is about 1/2 inch thick.

Do you use any other customizable palettes aside from the Z palette? If so what do you use and what do you think of it?

Black Friday Haul - Color Club Beyond The Mistletoe Haul and Swatches Part 2

If you didn't get a chance to view Part 1, please don't forget to. I hauled the entire collection and since I took a lot of pictures, I decided to break it down in two parts.

Jingle Jangle has blue, purple, and green glitters in a clear base. It's the only polish that doesn't have holographic glitters in this collection.

Candy Cane has pink and holographic glitters in a clear base.

Gingerbread has gold, pink, and holographic glitters in a clear base.

For the record, I swatched all these polishes with two coats no base color. The consistency of the formula is pretty much the same on all of them, which is a bit thick but still workable. It's very hard to catch the gleams of glitters on camera so expect them to be a lot more sparkly and glitzy in person. All the glitters in this collection are pretty much small and the same size.
Be sure to check out Part 1 of this collection for the rest of the swatches.

Black Friday Haul - Color Club Beyond The Mistletoe Haul and Swatches Part 1

Beyond the Mistletoe collection is one of the things I hauled during Black Friday, which was totally random and unexpected! LOL. I actually enjoy doing spontaneous stuff at random moments. Generally, I don't really like planning. Ok I admit, I HATE planning but when deemed necessary, I can make the effort.
Initially, I was browsing the web for Black Friday deals and swatches. I accidentally came across this post and fell head over heels when I saw the swatches of these polishes. To be honest, her swatches are wayyyyy better than mine so be sure to check out the link if you are interested in this set.

Unless you have a nail supplier in your area, I think the best way to get your hands on these polishes is on Amazon.com. I bought this set for $23.99, plus $5.74 shipping. I will put the link to the supplier I purchased from. FYI, she only has two sets left! http://www.amazon.com/Color-Beyond-Mistletoe-Glitter-Polish/dp/B006D1HS2I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1322926351&sr=8-1
Shipping was super fast! I received my package within a couple days, which is totally awesome!

The first thing I noticed about this set and I am not sure why it came like this but there was no label on them. I couldn't tell which color is named what, which is very weird. I actually had to look them up online. This set also comes with a clear nail polish. Hmm I don't know what I'm going to do with it yet.

Sugarplum Fairy has light lavender, purple, and holographic glitters suspended in a clear base.

Beyond the Mistletoe has teal, blue, green, and holographic glitters suspended in a clear base

Holiday Spendor has green, blue, and holographic glitters suspended in a green jelly-like base. It's the only color in this collection that comes with a colored base.

Be sure to check out Part 2 of this collection for the rest of the swatches.
