Orly Surreal Collection Nail Polish Swatch

I've been too burned out lately to give much attention to my blog. I used to like my job even if it was stressful and demanding at times...no problemo but it feels like the negativity is growing and starting to rub on me.

Aside from this depressing update, I have some pretty nail swatches for you. This is one of the recent Orly collection and I picked mine at Sally Beauty a couple weeks ago.

Purple Poodle has a fairly pigmented fuchsia / magenta jelly base with lots of sparkling blue and pink shimmers. There are some small purple shimmer flakes in it as well. You can get away with two coats but I'd suggest a third one if you don't want any visible nail line. Formula was nice, not too thick or thin and very easy to work with.

I added some Spazmatic blue glitters over it just for fun and I liked how it turned out.

Digital Glitter looks stunning in the bottle and I would have been so much happier if the glitters and shimmers were more dense because I would have loved the exact look of the bottle on my nails but because they are somewhat sparse, I had to pair it with another polish that could potentially give me a similar bottle result. As you can see on the bottle shot, Digital Glitter has a very interesting mix of glitters. I don't even know how describe it. There are some very fine pink shimmers and dark multicolored small glitters. I used two coats on the ring finger, swatched on its own and one coat over a nail polish on the rest of my nails. The base is clear and not too thick or thin.

I kinda have a love and hate feeling about Angel Rain. I love the color shift between a light blue and light teal. You can also see pink shimmers running through it. I don't like the pearly finish.  It's subject to brush strokes so be careful during application. Formula not too thick or thin but leaning on the sheer.  You will need 3 coats in order to get the color opacity as shown.

    1. The duochrome is not the strongest but it's still noticeable.

  2. The Spazmatic might be fun in a jelly sandwich!

  3. That last one is a cute shade! Not feeling the previous two :/ Sorry to hear work is killing the mood! Maybe a different work environment would help.. are you thinking of a different job?

    1. It's ok. It doesn't matter where you work, there is always going to be some people who are going to kill the mood every once in a while. But I suppose it doesn't hurt to keep my eyes peeled if there is a better opportunity out there.

  6. I have Angel Rain and quite like it. I like the look of the glitter and think I might have to seek out Purple Poodle.
