L'Oreal Colour Riche Caresse Wet Shine Lip Lacquer - Swatch and Review

I finally spotted these at my local Walgreens and purchased 3 of them to try. I'm very excited to share with you swatches and review.

What these claims to do is provide long lasting hydration and shine. They are also supposed to be glosses and lip stains in one.

Packaging
  • I like the packaging. It looks cool, sleek, and fancy.
  • .02 oz or 6.3 ml
  • Tear drop applicator

From left to right:
  • Eternally Nude (193) - this one doesn't look nude on me. Looks more like a medium coral.
  • Lilac Ever After (185- this color is hard to describe but looks like a pinkish/brownish nude on me. It has some subtle gold shimmers in it as well.
  • Stubborn Plum (191) - doesn't look too plummy but more pink with a hint of violet.

Product

The formula is definitely different from what I've tried before. It looks like a tinted gel and feels very light when applied. About 30 seconds after I applied it, I'm really feeling the product bonding to my skin when I press my lips together. It doesn't feel sticky but it doesn't slip or slide like a lot of glosses do, it stays put yet provides a lovely glossy finish. They are semi-sheer and I think the color will vary depending on how pigmented your lips are. I have rather pale lips so most of the lip products I use tend to keep their colors.
I'm really loving the formula. I think it does everything that it claims. After 5 hours, the product still looks shiny and intact just like how I first applied it. I was really surprised at how well it lasted. It does lose its luster after a meal though but that's quite normal for lip products. Another thing I really enjoy about the formula is that it's very comfortable and hydrating. I also like that the stain isn't too potent but just right. It drives me nuts when I'm stuck with the same color for the next 24 hours. It has a fruity floral scent that I find rather pleasing.
This is by far my first favorite product of 2013 :D. The formula is excellent. I highly recommend this product.

My rating: 10/10

Have you tried these yet?

    1. They feel just slightly tacky at the end of the day but when you wear them for the first few hours, it feels just fine, at least to me.

  2. They sure look nice but hm...I thought they would be a tad bit more opaque. I may just buy one to try out...if I ever find them.

    1. No they are not that opaque but they give me enough color that I don't really mind it.

  3. I love glosses and actually don't mind if a gloss is sticky. I'm probably in the minority of that. LOL I've never tried L'Oreal glosses before...they all look good on you. Great review.

    1. I don't think these are limited edition so no worries. Glad to hear other bloggers agree.

  5. Interesting awesome product! I've yet to see these here in singapore yet, they remind of a lippie product from lancome, color fever I think and the shiseido lip lacquers...the second and third shade have me bought over. They all look great on you. They don't seem to be very thick which is a plus in my books!

    1. No they are pretty light weight but you can also layer it for a more intense color. A few people have been comparing these with the YSL one.
