I picked this one up at CVS and used my $5.00 rewards coupon for it so it turned up pretty cheap. Normally retails for about $7-8 depending on where you buy. I like to have a few bold colors in my collection and this one looked like it would fit that description.
Packaging
- I like it. It looks classy and high end.
- The cap has the same quilted pattern as the Colorburst Lipsticks.
- Comes with a doe-foot applicator; however, it is more rounded and is slightly curved-in the center. Because its shape, picks up more product.
- .20 oz or 5.9 mL
- Fire is pleasantly more pigmented that the other shades I've reviewed. It applies nearly opaque and is a creme finish. The color looks more like a bright red cherry to me.
- This line comes in a pretty decent variety of colors.
- Feels light-weight and non-sticky
- Lighter shades will appear more sheered. Darker shades have better pigmentation.
- Lighter shades last about 1-2 hours. Darker shade will last at least 2 hours and leave behind a tint of color.
- It smells kinda like vanilla and caramel. The scent doesn't bother me and fades really quickly. The gloss has no taste.
Verdict
I don't love it but I don't hate it either. I think it's a pretty decent product for the price. The packaging is very nice. The pigmentation is pretty good on this particular shade. Some people will find red difficult to wear but I think anyone can pull off red. It's just that not everyone has the courage to wear it. I find it moisturizing and the staying power decent. The price is reasonable but you could save a few bucks if you wait for it to go on sale. My rating would be 8/10. I gave this particular color a higher grade because the pigmentation and staying power was better than the lighter shades.
