China Glaze Tronica (Holographic) Swatches

Hi everyone,

I'm back again, now with swatches for the polishes I got from the China Glaze Tronica collection. This collection features 12 holographic shades. Unfortunately, I was only able to get only 9 of them. I read on other blogs that this collection is exclusive to Sally Beauty Supply so getting a hold of them is going to be hard since they usually don't stock a lot of them. I really wish a company out there made some holographic polishes that are not limited edition and that are easily accessible to the public.
I apologize for the pictures. It was not easy to capture the holographic effect. They are more noticeable under bright light or direct sunlight. I was busy today and didn't get a chance to capture them under direct sunlight so you can see how beautiful they are.

Cyberspace is a nude holographic. The holographic effect on this one shows up well.

Gamer Glam is a lilac holographic. The holographic effect is noticeable but could be better.

High Def is a blue holographic. The effect is slightly noticeable and could be better.

Hologram is a silver holographic. The holographic effect is very noticeable.

Hyper Haute is a pink/berry holographic. The holographic effect is fairly noticeable but could be better.

Laser Lime is a yellowish green holographic. The holographic effect shows up pretty good on this one.

Mega Bite is a gold holographic. The holographic effect is barely noticeable.

Virtual Violet is a purple holographic. It shows up fairly well I'd say.

Digital Dawn is a pink holographic, it also has a copperish undertone that makes it look quite unique. The holographic effect shows up really well on this shade.

Conclusion

Aside from the Milani Holographic polishes, these China Glaze Tronica are the only other polishes in my possession that are holographic. They dry fairly quick. The pigmentation is pretty good with 2 coats.
  • The colors that showed the best holographic effect are Hologram, Laser Lime, and Digital Dawn.
  • The colors that showed a fair amount of holographic are Cyberspace, Virtual Violet, and Gamer Glam.
  • The colors that showed very little holographic are Mega Bite, Hyper Haute, and High Def.
Under normal and low light, the holographic doesn't show well. In spite of that, the colors still have a pretty shimmer to them. The holographic effect in some shades are more prominent as compared to others.
I'm a little disappointed. I really wish they look more holographic but don't get me wrong. They are still pretty colors regardless.

  2. Oh god i love holographics, they look lovely, but I agree they would be even nicer if the effect was stronger.
