Lancome Purchase, Free Gifts, And How To Save $$$

I wasn't planning to go shopping today but my sister called me while I was at work and told me that she wanted to check out the Boston Store because Lancome was having a free gift with purchase sale.
So with that said, I stopped by her place and picked her up when I got off work before heading to the mall.
When we got there, we found out that Goodwill was giving out coupons. Goodwill, in collaboration with the Boston Store, will give you one coupon per item you donate. Since today was the first day of the promotion, we got double coupons, Yaye! You can use as many coupons as you want. One coupon per item you want to purchase.

Here is what you can get with the coupons:

• Valid from March 9 through March 23, 2011
• 20% off apparel, fine jewelries, footwear, or accessories
• 15% off cosmetics, fragrance, home store, or luggage item
• 10% off toy, electronics, small electrics, health & wellness, furniture, rug, furniture accessories.

I didn't want to buy makeup because I have plenty to play with but I've been wanting to try the Genefique serum. I tried the tester and wow, this feels like silk. I can't wait to use it. The sale associate told me that this serum is good for all ages to help prevent wrinkles and keep the skin looking youthful.

I purchased the 1.7 oz bottle. Initially, I just wanted the 1 oz bottle but because I was getting such a great deal out of this purchase, I went with the larger bottle. The sale associate said that this should last me about 9 months. The original price of this 1.7 oz bottle is $98.00 (pricy I know) but with the Goodwill coupon, I saved $14.70. On top of that, I reactivated my Boston charge card that I didn't use for a long time, which gave me an additional 20% off, which is another $16.66 off the price tag. In the end, my total before tax came down to $66.64. I saved $31.36.

On top of my savings, I was given the free gifts. You need to spend at least $32.50 in order to qualify. If your total is $65 or more, you get additional free gifts. Surprisingly, the sale associate slipped in an extra lotion for me...I didn't know that until I got home. So I was very grateful and happy.
