This or That - Powder Blush, Cream Blush, or Cheek Tint?

Hello lovelies,

I can't believe I'm going to say what I'm about to say but I can't wait for December to be here already, lol. I don't like Winter but because I have some vacation time and personal time I need to take before I lose them, next month is going to be pretty relaxing for me.

Don't you just love it that there are so many different type of makeup. It's nice to have all these options but sometimes, they make it hard to choose, don't you think? I get greedy when I have choices.

I wear blushes pretty much on a daily basis. I'm pretty pale and blushes give a little life back to my face.

Powder blushes are probably the ones I use the most. They are the easiest and quickest to apply and easiest to blend. With not a lot of time for makeup in the morning, they work out for me. They usually don't last as long as cream blushes or cheek tint but some can last up to 6 hours, which I can be happy with.

Cream blush - I have a love and hate relationship with cream blushes. Most don't work out for me because they don't blend as easily as I want or leave a tacky feeling on my skin. The Illamasqua blushes are probably the only ones that I've been happy with.

Cheek Tint - I love that they have the longest lasting power but for some the application can be tricky as they can set pretty quickly, might be too pigmented, or apply blotchy. Some come in a liquidy form and some come in a gel-type formula.

Overall, powder blushes are typically the easiest for me so they win. With cream blushes and cheek tints I really have to hunt for the right formula and when I do, I love that they last so much longer than a powder blush.

  1. I always grab for powder blushes first, but I do love my elf hd blushes, they just require more work, but they definitely last longer.

    1. Powder blushes are just much easier to work with :D. I'd use cream or stains for special occasions when I want my makeup to last.

  2. Try layering a powder over a cream.. might give you the best of both worlds. I have issues with most cream blushes, too oily usually and they have the opposite in lasting power for me. I do however love the Covergirl Simply Ageless blushes, they look extremely natural, like the color is IN your skin rather than on it, and they last all day. Unfortunately they are discontinued.

    1. I've heard that layering cream and powder last longer and it makes perfect sense. I usually prefer my blush to look subtle so layering never really comes to mind since one color usually is enough but I do need to give it a try when I have more time to do my makeup in the morning.

  4. I definitely like powders. I have cream blushers that I really do love, but I usually don't feel like fussing with them. Powders are just so much quicker, especially if I'm pressed for time before going to work in the AM.

  5. I highly recommend trying Skinn Cosmetics Color Touch cream blush. It's has a more powdery finish when applied so it doesn't leave your skin feeling sticky or tacky or slimy. Teen Tone is my favorite shade - it's a beautiful natural and peachy shade. Also, if you're looking for a good cheek stain, try Ulta's brand! I was very pleased with it!
