This isn't really a review because I didn't wear and test them like I normally would wear eyeshadows but I can tell you a bit of what I think of them since I played with them a little.
These are new and limited edition from Sephora's collection so if you are interested in them, you definitely should get them before they're gone. They are sold for $12 (.07 oz) each at
Sephora.
First of all, the name duo-reflects to me suggests that these may have some duo-chrome qualities. I think it is rather misleading. There is 6 shades in the collection and when I swatched them in store I really didn't think they were duo-chrome, except for Mermaid Tail, which is the only that you can actually notice some shade shifting.
These eyeshadow feel gritty and are a bit powdery. You must use a glitter primer with these in order to get the best color pay off. They'll look more vibrant and intense that way. Overall, I do like them enough to keep them, not sure if I love them.
Mermaid Tail is a medium shimmery teal with sparkling blue, pink, and holographic shimmers. It shifts to purple in some lighting.
Stormy Seas is a medium shimmery electric blue with some purple shimmers. This one was less sparkly than the other two. It does shift to purple but it's so subtle that you'd have to really have the right angle and lighting to see it. Under normal condition, you won't notice it.
Siren's Charm is a medium dark shimmery mauvy purple with sparkling gold, green, purple, blue shimmers.

Siren's Charm is a good dupe (as far as color goes) to Cricket from Color Pop, which is just a little lighter and cheaper.
Ah! I check out our sephora last week but none of these are sold in our stores yet! I would love mermaid's tail or stormy seas! they're so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThese look absolutely beautiful. Even if they aren't quite duochrome, they look amazing.
