OPI Push and Shove
Looking for a shiny metallic silver chrome for your nails? You probably should check out Push and Shove if you don't have it already. I was lucky enough to find it on clearance at Sally Beauty. Don't know if you'd still be able to find it there now but if anything, you can always find it on Amazon or Ebay.
It comes paired with a base coat, which they recommend and they also suggest not to use a top coat. Not sure why because I tried layering a top coat over it and it didn't do any harm to it.
Push and Shove is very pigmented, not too thick or too thin. Upon initial application, I was worried about the brush strokes cause they were very apparent. I used two coats for the swatches. I find that the second coat helps even out the color and application but you must wait till the first layer is dry before adding another. The good thing is that it dries fairly quick.
The nice thing is as it dries, the brush stroke as less visible and it becomes very shiny like polished silver, which I think is really cool.
I had to take the pictures with flash because for some reason, without flash my camera just can't handle how shiny it is.
Another thing that needs to mention is that this nail polish is intended only for a day or night wear according to the packaging. It is not meant to last a few days. It did last more than a day but on the second day, I started noticing some fading. So yeah, that's the sad part about it, it's like a one night stand polish...only fun for a night, lol. I guess I won't cry about it considering I didn't pay full price.
What do you think? Is the one night stand a deal breaker for you?

I don't think I could wear a polish that only looks good for a night! It's a lovely polish but not for a day! I need mine to look good for at least 2-3 days!
ReplyDeleteYeah probably not best for the usual wear but for a special night out, it would be fun.
DeleteI loved the look of this polish, I borrowed it from a friend. ThePolishedMommy has great suggestions for wearing this polish http://www.thepolishedmommy.com/2014/03/opi-push-shove.html
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tip. I will give it a try next time I plan to wear it again. :)
DeleteThis is gorgeous and so futuristic! I don't know if I'd put all that work into a one-day-only mani though.
ReplyDeleteWould be cool for a new year's eve look, especially if you're out celebrating.
DeleteOh. Sad to know its not long lasting.
