Essence Lipstick - Creamy Nude
I purchased this lipstick from Ulta for $2.49, which is pretty cheap for a lipstick. I don't see too many people talk about this brand but I've bought a few things from them and I think they make pretty good makeup for a bargain price. As far as I know, Essence can only be purchased or found at Ulta but let me know if you have seen it elsewhere. The good thing is that they had testers, which is uncommon when it comes to drugstore makeup, and I was able to swatch it and sniff it before I buy it. It has a very sweet scent similar to vanilla and coconut. I absolutely love the texture of it. It glides on smoothly, feels moisturizing, and applies semi-opaque.
When I was playing with the testers, I liked the texture of Creamy Nude more compared to the others because it was more pigmented. The other shades appear more sheer and glossy. Creamy nude is exactly how I would describe this color. It has a slight mauvy/greyish undertone. If you are a fan of nude lipstick, I'm sure you will find this shade appealing. Unlike some nude lipstick, this one will not wash you out even if you have pigmented lips or have a darker complexion.
As far as packaging goes, it's pretty decent...nothing fancy. I definitely recommend you check it out.

ReplyDeleteThat's really pretty, especially for so cheap!! I've found Essence at Fred Meyer too but I don't recall them having testers.
