NYX 10 Color Eyeshadow Palettes - General Overview

These NYX 10 color eyeshadow palettes were part of my favorite eyeshadows of 2010, which I didn't get a chance to review and I apologize for that. Since I just started blogging in October 2010, I didn't have time to do a complete review on quite a few of my favorites but that's about to change because I am going to go over these 8 Palettes that I own. To make it easier to read, I will have each of them in individual post so be sure to check them if you are interested.
These NYX eyeshadow palettes may be difficult to spot, depending on where you live. I have had better luck ordering online. I know ordering them can be a pain when you don't know how the product really looks like, paying extra for shipping, not being able to return them, etc...With that said, I find reviews and pictures of these products extremely helpful, depending on the person who is taking them. Hopefully, you can find my reviews and pictures useful.
These palettes cost $9.75 each on NYX's website (http://www.nyxcosmetics.com/), prices will vary depending on where you buy them. You can also purchase them on Ebay, at Ulta, Cherryculture.com...I'm sure there are more websites out there that carries them but Cherry Culture has been my go to place to get my NYX goodies and I especially get them when they go on sale.
The majority of these eyeshadows are pretty pigmented, have a good texture, and are easy to blend. I love the fact that there is a variety of shades to choose from. They are not all 100 % perfect. You will find some minor flaws, such as some shades will feel smoother than others, but overall they are pretty good for the price you're paying.
I really like the packaging. It's sleek and compact. The large mirror inside the palette is a plus. A foam tip applicator is included, which is nice for quick touch-ups and when traveling. You are probably better off using your brushes whenever possible but the applicator is there for convenience, just in case you need it.
The net weight of each palette is .49 oz or 14 g. By the way Haute Model and Velvet Rope have been just recently released within the last couple months.

Pros
- 10 variety of shades all in one palette
- Palette includes a large mirror and applicator
- Slick and compact, perfect size for traveling.
- Decent to good quality eyeshadows, depending on the color
- Affordable

Cons
- Not easily accessible
- Buying online can be inconvenient and adding additional shipping cost.
- No view window. You can't see the colors inside unless you open the palette. It's a con for me if you have a lot of these palettes. I had to cut out the color diagram from the cardboard packaging and tape it to the case to make viewing more convenient.
- Most likely will need to purchase online in order to get what you want or the newly released products.

Final thoughts
These are a pretty good value and pretty good quality eyeshadows. If you find any colors that you like, I highly recommend you give them a try. For better color payoff, an eye primer is a must in order to bring out the full potential of these colors. They are so affordable that you wouldn't mind having more than just one palette in your makeup stash. My rating would be 8/10.

Which one(s) do you have or will want to add to your wishlist?
