I love complex colors that have depth and nuance to them, which is probably why I tend to favor glitters, Holos, and Duochromes.
I spotted Savina Black Pearl at my local nail supply store and just couldn't get over the duochrome I was seeing on the bottle. The problem I've encountered in the past is that sometimes what you see in the bottle isn't always what you get on the nails. I decided to give it a whirl anyways since it was only $2.50.
I was very delighted and pleased to see the duochrome looked just as beautiful on the nails as it did in the bottle. This color had a pretty strong duochrome shifting from dark grey to teal and purple. It did remind of colors you would see in a black pearl but better, probably because it has a bit more teal in it than a typical black pearl would have. There are some visible brush stroke but I think they are very minimal and I was able to get opacity within two coats. The formula wasn't the smoothest but it was fairly easy to work with.
I wore it for almost a week and only noticed some minor tip wear but no chipping.
You may be able to find this at your local nail supplier if they carry the brand. Otherwise, it's definitely available on Ebay and Amazon.
What do you think of this color? Do you like duochromes?
I have this one and it's really pretty. My Nordstrom Rack always seems to have a big selection of Savinas.
ReplyDeleteI wished we had a Nordstrom Rack in town. You're lucky!
DeleteWe don't have Savinas where I live but I might be able to find a similar duo chrome if I look properly. I like the polish but I don't wear duo chromes often, in fact I don't have much :O
ReplyDeleteI don't have much either but when I find one I always buy it lol
DeleteThis is so pretty! Wow, that duochrome!!! I've never seen Savina polishes around. I'm super impressed with this one for the price. That's pretty awesome.
ReplyDeleteyeah it's one of those brand you either get online or you find them in nail supply store or odd places. It's got a really nice and strong duochrome to it.
