Flower Creme Eyeshadow Lilac You A Lot - Swatch and Review

TGIF...or more like thank God the day is over. This felt like the longest day of the week and I for sure thought I was going to pass out at work half way through my shift. My stomach was having an episode too so it made it very hard for me to stay focused. I am so tired of working weekends. It makes me feel like I have no life...well I don't really have much of a life anyways, lol, but I still need my weekends to recoup.

This would be the last product that I hauled from the Flower beauty line at Wal-Mart. If you missed my other reviews you can view them by clicking the links below.

Flower Beauty Lipsticks - Swatch and Review

I've always found drugstore cream eyeshadows hard to love and as much as how everybody loves the Color Tattoos, I still wished they were a tad more creamier. They are certainly drying out much quicker than my high-end cream shadows.

Anyways, heard some great reviews on these Flowers cream shadows so I wanted to see it for myself if it lives up to the hype. Only picked one shade to try.

Packaging

  • I think the packaging is beautiful. A glass pot with a white cap and rose gold trimming.
  • A stopper to keep the product in place.
  • Notice how the product inside is not filled all the way around. I suppose that's due to the formulation of the cream shadow.

  • Lilac You A Lot is a sheer shimmery pinkish lilac with a hint of blue and pink shimmers.

Product

  • The cream shadow has the texture of whipped mousse. It has a very fluffy feel to it. My first reaction was oh damn, is this going to work? I mean I really had to rub it in and around in order to scoop some up with my finger.
  • When I swatched it on my arm, I thought gosh this is sheer.
  • The cream shadow is extremely emollient and I was worried that it was going to turn in to a crease mess. I did not hesitate to test out with a primer first.
  • I struggled a bit with the application. As you can see on the picture above, no matter how many layer I try to do, it's still sheer and a little patchy.
  • Because it's so sheer, I didn't really notice any obvious creasing but I did notice some fading after 4 hours.

Final Thought

Pigmentation was extremely weak on this color. What a shame! if it came out anything like what I saw in the pot, I would've been a happy camper. I find the moussy texture rather finicky and a little too airy for my liking. I'm not sure if I want to try the other shades now cause I don't know if I can get past the texture. I'm disappointed that it only last 4 hours with a primer.
Skip this shade if you can help it. Perhaps better luck with the other colors?

My rating: 3/10.

Am I the only one who seem to have been underwhelmed by this brand or is it just my luck that I picked the worst shade?

  2. I am not Crazy impressed either. Is the packaging cute yes, is exciting to see a new brand - yes. But are the products AMAZING - no. They are on par with drugstore brands, some good qualities and you get what you pay for. It's like when people are like Urban Decay is the BEST and I'm just thinking I like a variety...
Thank you as ALWAYS for your honest reviews!

    1. Yeah, they are pretty much on par with drugstore brands. I didn't think they felt high-end quality like some people said.

  3. I've been wanting to pick something up from the Flower line just to give it a shot because the packaging is so cute lol. I've never been into just the cream shadows alone; I would probably use something like this as a base for a pressed shadow. Especially since it's not crazy pigmented.

    1. It won't really do much as a base either because it lacks the creaminess that most base have.

  4. that sucks! i totally thought it would work out more. i saw some hauls and it seemed like more of the darker colors are more pigmented though

    1. That's what it seems but then again, I'm really not liking the texture.

  5. I heard one really raving review about these shadows but I haven't picked one up yet because the texture made my eyebrows go up. I just didn't see how it could possibly be so great. Guess I will skip this one! Bummer, because in the pot it looks so beautiful.

    1. Yeah I don't know if people even give it a second thought before they start raving. That annoys me cause it's misleading.

  6. The color looks gorgeous so I can see why you picked this shade up but thats horrible with how sheer it is. I won't be giving this a try, especially if it fades after four hours without a primer. Thanks for the review.
