New Hard Candy Glitter Polish Swatches

Happy Monday everyone!

This day went pretty fast and work has been hectic. Boss lady told me today that after I come back from vacation, I'm gonna have to camp at work because we need to finish that project we've been working on for months. Ughhhh, yeah I want to get it over with already. I'm pooped just thinking about it.

Spent a few hours last night editing some pictures. I downloaded GIMP and so far I'm not liking it. It's not as  user friendly as I would've hoped and figuring out the program makes the process longer. I'm not a fan of that.

From left to right: Jubilee, Fun N' Festive, Tinsel Town

From left to right: Hip Hip Hooray, So So Sequin, Sweet Tooth

Jubilee has a jelly grassy green base, black and silver hex glitters, small black glitters, and orange bar glitters. It's quite an interesting combination yet I'm not sure if I love it. The bar glitters like to curve and stick out a bit. The base is a somewhat thick but I didn't really have much trouble with application but the glitters seem to like to clump together. I did 2 coats with a top coat.

Fun N' Festive. For some reason I'm not really getting the fun and festive vibe from this polish. Yes, it's gorgeous in the bottle but on the nails, it looks dark and gloomy. The base color is a dark jelly black, which I find a bit too dark and it's overpowering the glitters that are floating in it. There's gold, orange, black, and small green glitters. First of all, why did they even bother adding black glitters? It blends with the base and does absolutely nothing to improve the look of this polish. I used 2 coats and 1 coat of clear top coat.

Tinsel Town has a clear base and purple bar glitters, holographic gold bar glitters, fine teal glitters. It took 3 coats to build up to a full opacity. The bar glitters are very fine and so far I like it. Consistency is slightly on the thick side yet it's fairly easy to work with. I also used a top coat on the swatch.

Hip Hip Hooray is probably my favorite of the pack. The base is somewhat clear but I detect a very subtle purple tinge to it. It will pick up a fairly good amount of glitters within one pass. It has blue, pink, purple, white, and silver glitters. I did 2 coats with a topcoat. This looks like a lot of fun.

So So Sequin has a clear base with holographic light pink glitters and blue glitters. It's very densely packed with glitters and you get almost full opacity with 2 coats. It looks very flashy and blinged out. I also added a topcoat.

Sweet Tooth is such a cute polish. It has a jelly white base and small light pink and blue glitters. I did 2 coats with a topcoat and my nail line is barely visible.

I find these polishes to be on the thick side yet didn't really have any major issues with application. I do feel that the formula has slightly improved though and the new range of colors are absolutely drool-worthy. Now, these are $4.00 for .26 oz of product. That's half the size of a typical full size nail polish so they are not really cheap so to speak. Their price rival that of OPI and Essie but the quality of the formula is just average, in my opinion. I do like the long, sleek, and round packaging as well as the flat and improved brush.

Which one will you be getting?

    1. I'm always trying ways to take better pictures. I barely had sunlight for some of these pictures so editing them helped.

  7. I like Tinsel Town! But I agree with you that they're a bit pricey for the size, considering that they are drugstore formulas. I could nab my beloved Zoyas on sale and get them cheaper per the ounce, mathwise. You have lovely swatches btw!

  8. Your 'Hip Hip Hooray' is actually a mislabeled 'Party Central'! I saw the same issue in my Walmart and was really confused before I realized many were mislabeled.

    1. I also bought Party Central. I dunno, they almost look the same but not quite so I dunno what is what but I'm just going by the label.

    2. I checked on Hard Candy's website. Mine are labeled correctly. They do look similar so perhaps that's what's causing the confusion.
