Yves Rocher Cream Eyeshadow - Swatch and Review for Bronze and Vert Bocage

I've been testing these for the past few days and I am ready to tell you what I think of them. Excited?

Packaging
  • These cream eyeshadows are packaged in a tube with a doe foot applicator.

Product
  • Both cream shadows are very wet and have a thin consistency upon application. I'm thrilled that they don't look flaky when they dry. Some cream eyeshadows that come in these sort of packaging have a tendency to do that.
  • Bronze is not doubt my favorite out of the two. It's richly pigmented and have that foil-like look at first but as it dries down, the foil effect diminish and you're left with just a very pretty shimmery metallic bronze. It's not warm like how most bronze are. Its cool undertone appears like a bronze that has aged and tarnished. It even has a green tone to it. It doesn't set too quickly and give you enough time to apply and blend to your heart's content. You can blend the edge with a brush and it will soften easily.
  • Vert Bocage is a sheer and shimmery seafoam green. It's a gorgeous color but the sheerness kills me because it makes application tricky and have a tendency to be patchy. I tried layering a second layer but that doesn't make things easier or better. Unless you don't mind having a sheer color, I would recommend layering Vert Bocage over another cream shadow that is more opaque.
  • Surprisingly, I get up to 10 hours of wear without a primer. No creasing, smudging, smearing, and very little fading.

Final Thought

I'm very pleased with the wear and longevity of these cream eyeshadows. I also like the fact that they give you enough play time to even out the color and blend. I definitely would order more of the metallic colors if they are all as pigmented as Bronze. As far as the pastel cream, my main disappointment is the color pay off so I'll be staying away from those.

    1. It's pretty but too sheer and blotchy so it works best layering over another base that's more opaque.
