NYX Cream Blush Swatch and Review

I purchased these NYX Cream Blushes during Cherry Culture 40% off sales. The regular price is $6.50 and I paid $3.90 each. I've never really been fond of cream blushes but wanted to give them another try. Perhaps I'll find one I love.

Packaging
  • The packaging looks very similar to MAC but certainly has less weight to it. These blushes weigh .12 oz each and a MAC cream blush weighs .21 oz, which is almost double.

Colors
  • They have 13 different shades to choose from but I picked 3.

  • Tickled looks like a cream blush version of NARS Orgasm. It's a gorgeous peachy pink with gold shimmers.

  • Natural is a creamy nude pink

  • Boho Chic is a light pale pink. Looking from the pan, Boho Chic and Natural looked almost identical but they are different when swatched

These are how they look when blended

Product
  • These blushes are very creamy and the pigmentation is pretty decent. I see these colors would work best on fair to medium skintone.
  • I personally feel that they are best applied with a brush but you can still work it with your fingers if you don't have a brush.
  • I like the fact that they don't feel tacky afterward, which is one thing that really annoys me in cream blushes.
  • They do leave a glossy but natural flush on your face. If you don't like shimmery or glossy finish in a blush, then you are not going to like these. I do not recommend these if you have oily skin. You are going to look extremely shiny.
  • They don't last very long. After 3 hours, I notice a significant fading. So you will need to reapply.
  • They work very nicely as a gloss! Tickled looked the best on the lips. Natural and Boho chic may be a bit too light for some skintone.
Conclusion
I like these but I don't love them. They are nice and blend easily. I wish they were less glossy looking and that the staying power was better though. I rarely reapply makeup throughout the day. Heck, I barely have time to check out my face throughout the day so I need long-wear makeup. If you are on a budget and don't mind the listed flaws in these blushes then you might enjoy these. My rating 7.5/10.

  2. I've been wanting these for awhile! I've never used a cream blush but I have a bunch on my "to buy" list haha. How do you apply your cream blushes? I have oily skin but I don't really mind the dewy look so these will be staying on my wishlist~ The colors you got are gorgeous!

  3. Thanks Lucy, I think you're right. Boho Chic is kinda light. It still shows but looks very subtle on me.

AngelicBetrayal, I prefer to use my coastal scent tappered duo fiber brush for these.
